  Pros

  I was looking for a retinol cream and found this one to be a great value for the price, so I decided to buy it! So far, I've been using it without any blemishes. I'm determined to take good care of my skin with this product!

  Cons

  No complaints! When you first start using it, apply a rice grain-sized amount 2-3 times a week to help your skin adjust.

  Pros

  My beloved COSRX... I'll use you forever! I switched from just using niacinamide, and it's truly amazing. The ultimate skin texture management. The next day, it's like my skin was wrapped in plastic - all unevenness disappeared, and my skin felt so taut, I was shocked!

  Cons

  If you use more than a pea-sized amount, dead skin cells flake off like scales. Ugh, it's gross. This is my fault, but I'm mentioning it since I need to point out a drawback...

  First off, I'm thrilled to have had the chance to try such a great product through The Hwahae Testers event. I've been wanting to try COSRX's retinol product, and the cream formulation was perfect for my dry skin. I prefer cream types over essence pumps or droppers as they're simpler to use. The packaging is appealing, and I appreciate its eco-friendliness in terms of recycling and environmental impact. The small packaging size is also ideal since you only need a tiny amount. I've been using retinol products for a while, and I believe this one also contains 0.3% retinol. Having experienced retinol burn before, I approached this very cautiously. The instructions recommend using it every other day, but I find it easier to use a smaller amount daily rather than remembering an every-other-day routine. Perhaps because I've used retinol before, I may have been a bit overconfident. I've been mixing about a red bean-sized amount with twice as much of another moisturizer and applying it to my face and neck as the last step. Despite being careful, I still experienced retinol burn on the third day. I think this product's formulation is much more potent than others with the same concentration. The burning sensation was intense, even though I had less dead skin cells to shed compared to my first retinol experience. You really need to be careful with this - use even less than a red bean-sized amount, more like a millet-sized portion. After the retinol burn subsided, my baby-soft skin started to emerge. This is why we use retinol products! I love everything about it - the packaging, effectiveness, and texture - so I'll likely purchase it with my own money in the future.

  While it's incredibly potent compared to other products, it's challenging to control the amount dispensed since it comes out in a red bean-sized portion each time.

  Tip

  If you experience retinol burn, immediately stop using the product. Apply a soothing mask, gentle toner, and plenty of calming, low-irritation moisturizer. When going out, use a mild physical sunscreen. Once the symptoms subside, you can start reapplying in very small amounts. Mixing it with your moisturizer can make application easier.
