It naturally brightens your complexion, giving you a healthy glow. Applying it in circular motions helps cover pores effectively. Being a cream, it also provides hydration. If you don't have many skin concerns, you could probably go out with just this and some powder. Although it's pricey, one purchase can last over a year and a half. You only need to use a small amount each time. The price... I usually buy it at duty-free shops or online when there's a discount. Applying it in circular motions helps cover pores effectively. - kz****Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJun 7, 2025
It seems to be a decent option for a quick and easy brightening moisturizer to even out the complexion. While it absorbs smoothly and feels lightweight on the skin, it has a more matte finish than expected. - tt*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresMay 29, 2025
I bought this product at a department store during my trip to Japan! It's a product with amazing word-of-mouth reviews. When I applied it as a base, I noticed that the next steps of my skincare routine absorbed well and the adherence was excellent. About two hours after applying it, my skin completely broke out, and I suffered for about 6 months. I didn't want to take medication from a dermatologist, so I avoided going to one, but I really regretted that decision. It took a very long time to recover. I considered passing it on to family or friends, but I ended up throwing it away because I was worried they might go through the same ordeal. It's such a waste. If you have super sensitive skin, it's always best to patch test new products before applying them to your entire face. Everyone's skin reacts differently, so what works for others may not work for you. If you experience any burning sensation or irritation, discontinue use immediately and consult a dermatologist if symptoms persist. - so********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsMay 6, 2025
I bought this for a light application as I prefer a sheer, natural makeup look. There's definitely a psychological trust that comes with a high-end cosmetics brand. However, in terms of satisfaction with use, it's just okay for the price. The finish is underwhelming. Surprisingly, the Chantecaille cushion, despite having less coverage, gives a cleaner impression due to its sponge application. This product is meant to be a primer, enhancing the adherence of subsequent products and refining skin texture as the first stage, so perhaps this feeling is to be expected. It's similar to applying Chanel's peach-tinted Healthy Glow Gel Touch Foundation. Using it alone feels somewhat ambiguous, especially considering its sun protection factor. There's a sense that another step should follow, leaving you with an incomplete makeup look. While some might see it as a natural glow, I personally feel it lacks polish. If you're aiming for this kind of effect, there are many more affordable products that offer either a definite glow or a matte finish. For example: - Anessa (SPF50) for a dewy, bare-skin look with excellent sun protection - Chantecaille cushion for an even more natural, barely-there finish - VDL 365 CC Cushion, which has similar coverage but better overall results and gentler ingredients. These three options are thinner and cover pores better. A major drawback of this product is its poor pore coverage, and it can accentuate dry areas. I think applying a tiny amount of foundation with a sponge would have given a much cleaner result. - ca**********Oily SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedApr 17, 2025
Legendary... The skin finish is insane! A Japanese friend raved about this, saying everyone around her uses it. I was skeptical but bought it anyway... Wow, it's truly legendary. Shiseido's line really nails base products. While Shiseido's foundation adheres thinly and seamlessly, Clé de Peau's Correcting Cream feels even more natural. This natural look might not suit those wanting heavy coverage for blemishes (since it's a base), but I think it's number one for enhancing skin texture. It magically conceals pores. Using it with Shiseido foundation creates an even better synergy. Fantastic! Honestly, I can't find any drawbacks. The price is justifiable in my opinion... Oh, if I had to nitpick, the SPF is low. So you need to apply sunscreen separately. Use it together with Shiseido foundation for best results. - li***********Dry SkinSensitive SkinApr 12, 2025
The one advantage is that it brightens your complexion. It might work well for those with extremely oily skin... As soon as you apply it, it becomes matte and makes your face look dry. It gives a powdery, flour-doll effect. I have dry skin, so that could be why, but YouTubers were raving about it, saying it's good even for dry skin. That's why I bought it, but I feel deceived... It turns matte and powdery, highlighting every pore and dead skin cell! It creates a very heavy, cakey skin texture. Considering the price, I don't recommend it. - jy*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinApr 5, 2025
The adherence is really excellent. The color is nice, and it absorbs well too. To be honest, after trying it once, I felt like I wasted my money. As soon as you apply it, it turns matte and all the glow disappears. It becomes powdery. It doesn't cover pores exceptionally well. For me, it was just so-so. It might work better for those in their 20s. I'm in my late 30s and my nose pores have enlarged, so it doesn't do much for that area. I used this and then applied Phymongshe BB cream, and I was shocked at how matte it went on. It felt like it absorbed all the moisture from my face. When I use Phymongshe alone, it's not super hydrating but it's not matte either. It has a decent glow. But when I applied it over this base, it felt like I was putting on something completely different, though the coverage did improve. However, when I exercised with makeup on, sweat beaded up on my skin like water droplets on a waterproof surface. It looked unnatural and I didn't like how it emphasized the sweat. Lastly, my husband mentioned that my makeup looked cakey. I noticed it too. Even though I use a setting spray as a final step, it still looked matte and cakey. I don't think this product can be used alone unless you have absolutely flawless skin. It makes your skin look really dry. I have combination dehydrated skin. I'll see how it works in summer. At this price point, I wouldn't recommend it. - oh******Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedApr 4, 2025
I tend to use this on days when I can't be bothered with a full makeup routine. It absorbs well without any stickiness, and even provides a bit of color correction. Although it's SPF 25+PA++, I still apply sunscreen beforehand for extra protection. The price is a bit... well, it's certainly on the expensive side, but I'll likely repurchase it despite that. - jo**********Oily SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMar 20, 2025
The adherence is fantastic, and it really brings out a beautiful glow on the skin It's a bit pricey for the amount you get, and it sometimes goes out of stock, so I tend to stock up in advance I've found it works great even when applied just to specific areas like the nose or cheeks - pa*******Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 10, 2025
Clé de Peau is truly one of those brands where it's hard to find a product that disappoints! First off, being the prestige line from Shiseido, Japan's largest cosmetics company, instills confidence (though the prices are a bit wicked). In reality, their products are fantastic, and this Correcting Veil is absolutely amazing... I'm already on my third tube after emptying two! The texture is creamy, but it applies incredibly smoothly, feeling like a luxurious essence. It starts off with a moisturizing feel, then as it absorbs, it settles into a soft, powdery finish. The adherence to the skin is insane - even without any special technique, the fine particles just cling perfectly. Speaking of which, the particles are incredibly fine. But the most impressive part? Its ability to smooth out pores and skin texture surpasses many foundations... As someone with large pores and combination dehydrated skin, I prioritize pore and texture coverage over blemish concealing when choosing a base product, and this is simply the best. Of course, being a primer, it doesn't cover blemishes at all. It brightens the complexion naturally without making you look overly pale. All in all, if you have oily or combination dehydrated skin with large pores and your skin isn't too dark, I can guarantee you'll be absolutely thrilled with this product! Those with dry skin might need to ensure they moisturize well before using this! To be honest, if you have dry skin with small pores and low sebum production, you might not be as impressed as I am. Also, since this is marketed as a makeup base, I had high hopes for how foundation or cushion would look over it, but the results weren't extraordinarily beautiful. Especially when using a glowy foundation over this, it might slightly diminish that foundation's signature beautiful glow, and depending on your skin type, it could feel a bit heavy. However, it doesn't interfere with foundation application at all, so rather than using an ultra-luxurious, expensive, radiant high-end foundation, try pairing it with a decent semi-glow foundation for an incredibly flawless-looking complexion. If you have large pores, oily combination dehydrated skin, and don't have many blemishes or spots to cover, just give this a try... For a Clé de Peau product, the price is... well, not exactly budget-friendly, but at least somewhat accessible.
