Key points I focus on: - 1. Skin appearance - 2. Coverage - 3. Longevity My skin condition: - Prone to redness - Combination dehydrated skin - Large pores - Mix of redness and yellow undertones (between shade 21 and light 22) The photos are in order: [2. Before application], [3. Immediately after], [4. 2 hours after use]. I took them with a basic camera, without any primer, base, or powder, wearing only this cushion in 33°C summer weather. 1. The color is decent, though a bit muted. Despite being a velvet cushion, it didn't feel matte in this weather. It's not exactly smooth, confirming its matte formula, but my skin's natural oils gave it a glow. Even on other days, it allowed my skin's natural radiance to shine through rather than mattifying it completely. I personally prefer foundations that let my skin glow, then use powder for an inner glow effect, so I liked this. I'm curious how it'll perform in winter though! 2. It does a good job covering redness and pores to some extent [see 3rd photo]. While it can't completely hide blemish scars (you'd need a concealer for perfect coverage), it blurs smaller pores around scars nicely. Larger pores are still visible, but that's easily fixed with powder. The back of the lid has a textured surface for easy product distribution. While the formula doesn't feel particularly thin, this feature is super helpful for achieving a lighter application. The cushion puff is plush, allowing for smooth application without leaving marks. For 5000 won and 15g, I'm satisfied. It's good for its price point, though I wouldn't call it the absolute best out there. 3. There's slight darkening, but for me, it just went from brightening to more natural-looking over time. It felt more like it was setting rather than oxidizing. I didn't notice this when I mixed it with a color-correcting base. [See 4th photo] It tends to settle into the creases around my nose. I only wore it for 2 hours that day, but it creases more with extended wear. Even when I try to apply less product there, it still happens. I usually just blend it out with my fingers... not the best solution, but it works for me. Other than that, it doesn't break down badly. It even holds up well around the mouth. Touch-ups are possible, but if you have large pores, it might be tricky without removing and reapplying. It doesn't look cakey, but it can settle into pores. The scent is neutral - you probably won't love it, but it's not bothersome unless you're actively sniffing the cushion. I struggled with shade selection, so here's some color info: Initially, I considered shade 2 due to reviews saying it ran light. But with mixed feedback, I decided to test samples. Pro tip: "The side of your hand often matches your face color best." I swatched shades 1 and 2 on the side of my hand [see last photo]. Surprisingly, shade 1 gave a nice brightening effect on my skin, while 2 was darker than expected. I went with 1. A middle shade would've been ideal, but that's probably why this cushion is so affordable! I prefer light application, so I tap a small amount onto the lid's back, then lightly touch it to my face. Once set, it's not too bright, just pleasantly radiant. It actually matches my neck, which is lighter than my face. Pro tip from Risabae: Mix a color-correcting base on the cushion lid for an even thinner application. I love this method! In my opinion, shade 1 isn't overly light - it could work up to a light 22. Those lighter than 21 might find it dark. At 5000 won, buying both shades if you're unsure isn't a huge investment. I'm mentioning this for students who might be on a tight budget. - ky******Dry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 30, 2025
It's affordable, yet doesn't skimp on coverage, skin-enhancing abilities, or built-in tools. There's nothing to dislike about it - it's truly one of my holy grail products! Personally, I'm satisfied with everything except maybe the packaging design...? - se*********Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsRednessRecommendedJun 30, 2025
The ultimate cushion foundation that's winning everyone over! It's a fantastic value and doesn't look cakey at all. It even fills in pores beautifully. I've tried cushions from Banila Co, Clio, and IOPE, but this one takes the crown. Highly recommended! There's just one small drawback though - it doesn't last very long. It seems to be a bit weak against oily skin. But don't worry! If you set it with some powder and a fixing spray, it's not an issue at all. Even when it does start to fade, it does so gracefully without looking patchy. For those with combination dehydrated skin or super sensitive skin, this cushion foundation could be a great option. It provides a nice glow without emphasizing blemishes or dead skin cells. To extend its wear time, try layering it with a brightening moisturizer underneath for that coveted "Inner Glow" look. - k4******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsRecommendedJun 27, 2025
I've been using this product for over two months now, and my skin is full of acne scars and freckles! The coverage is absolutely incredible. While it might not be quite as dramatic in person, it really shows up well in photos! Even when it starts to wear off, it fades beautifully! For such an affordable price, this level of coverage is simply unbeatable. Although I have very oily skin, It doesn't seem to give a completely matte finish, unfortunately. I apply it directly over my moisturizer, and it helps control oil production while fading gracefully throughout the day! - dl********RecommendedJun 23, 2025
For those with dry skin, it's essential to build a solid skincare foundation, and this product is absolutely fantastic for that! The scent... well, it's a bit off-putting. Also, if you rush through your skincare routine, it might not absorb well and could leave a residue. Remember, a thorough skincare routine is key for dry skin types. This product works wonders when applied properly, but be mindful of the fragrance and take your time during application for the best results. - kt*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJun 21, 2025
I have combination skin. This cushion foundation is incredible value for money! It has great staying power and decent coverage. I usually only use matte cushions, but this one has just the right amount of matte finish, so I've been using it all year round. It's just... a solid cushion without any real drawbacks? A reliable choice that I definitely recommend! Hmm... The pore coverage could be a bit better. But considering it only costs $5, you can always use a primer separately and it works fine. Plus, the case is pretty and sturdy, and the puff is good quality too. Overall, I'm quite satisfied. One last thing - the shade seems quite light. Most foundations run light these days, but I have #22 skin tone and I think I was a bit too ambitious... Next time I'll definitely go for shade #2. It's fantastic when used with a primer! Since this cushion was light for my skin tone, I didn't notice much darkening, but if you do experience that, a brightening moisturizer or setting spray is a must-have. - mi*******Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesDead Skin CellsRecommendedJun 17, 2025
No pilling or emphasis on dead skin cells, and minimal darkening. For just 5000 won, I'm incredibly satisfied with this product! The shade is a bit darker than expected, so I need to use color correcting before applying it to get the perfect match. - bg*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedJun 15, 2025
If you prep your skin well before applying, it adheres beautifully! As someone with oily skin, I found it to be a great value for the price. Plus, it didn't cause any blemishes or irritation. Not sure if it's because I didn't use a setting spray, but it darkens after a short while. As someone who uses shade 21, it was a bit too light for my complexion. - an**********Dry SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesRecommendedJun 12, 2025
Last Saturday, I applied this product before going out, and I was thrilled to see it held up beautifully for four hours without any lifting or breakdown. It's definitely one of my go-to products that I'm really satisfied with. After using it on Saturday, I did notice some blemishes appearing around my chin area... While the product performed well in terms of longevity, it's important to note that it may cause skin reactions for some users. As always, patch testing is recommended, especially if you have sensitive skin. - le***********Oily SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedJun 12, 2025
I'm on my second repurchase of this product, and despite it being from Daiso, I didn't have high expectations for its quality, but it's truly amazing! Unlike matte cushions that apply dryly and tend to cake, this one glides on smoothly with a moisturizing feel. It adheres well to the skin, so even if you rush through your skincare routine, it doesn't look patchy! Shade 19 is light, while 21 blends seamlessly even on my skin tone. It brightens just enough while giving a beautiful color payoff that's neither too yellow nor too pink - it strikes the perfect balance! The coverage is medium, but pair it with a concealer, and you've got yourself flawless coverage. If you don't touch up throughout the day, your skin might feel a bit suffocated. Those with super sensitive skin should be cautious. I have acne-prone skin, and prolonged use can lead to small blemishes. It tends to settle into nose creases quite noticeably. Overall, this cushion foundation offers impressive quality for its price point. It provides a natural-looking complexion with decent staying power. However, those with sensitive or acne-prone skin may want to test it carefully before committing to long-term use. Remember to touch up and allow your skin to breathe throughout the day for the best results.
