I bought this product with high expectations after watching Jae-yu's video! I was already using contouring products from other brands, but I was really curious about the volume powder, which is why I decided to purchase it. This product is pioneering in combining volume powder and contouring in one, so I have to praise this concept. First off, the contour shade has a grayish tone that felt quite dark for my 21 shade skin. While the contouring effect was definitely there, those with shade 21 who prefer a more natural shadow might find it disappointing. As for the volume powder... I expected it to brighten and add volume dramatically like in the demo video, but I didn't notice much difference. It just felt like a regular compact powder controlling oil. In conclusion, I found the contour shade too dark and the volume powder not bright enough, so the colors were a letdown. I think it would be better if they made the volume powder color significantly brighter to really enhance the volume effect. After all, there are many similar powders from other companies out there. This is my honest review, and while I bought it at the opening price, making it reasonable for the cost, I still feel it could be improved. - di****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityRednessRecommendedOct 2, 2024
1. First off, I'm generally a fan of Noveb products. So when I heard about their new shading product launch in March, I immediately bought the #1 Taupe Gray for cool tones. I was tempted by the offer of a free shading brush if I bought both warm and cool tones, but I knew I'd never use the warm tone, so I passed on that. 2. The portability is fantastic. It's the most compact shading product I own. 3. However, for someone with a 13-15 cool complexion like me: The nose contouring shade was far too dark. It was also too dark for a natural-looking jaw contour. The pan is quite small, making it tricky to use a shading brush without picking up the highlighter shade too. Overall, I've realized this isn't the right shading palette for me. 4. The highlighter powder has too much yellow for cool tones. It looks rather unnatural on my redness-prone, grayish skin. I've ended up using it lightly on my brow bone or as an eyeshadow base. 5. The medium shade works well for aegyo-sal (under-eye) shading, and the darkest shade is good for triangle zone contouring or as an eyebrow base. But truthfully, I already have other products that serve these purposes. 6. At this rate, it'll take ages to hit pan. I definitely won't be repurchasing. 7. While I found the shades disappointing for my skin tone, I think this would work really well for cool-toned individuals with 21-23 or darker complexions. The product quality and convenience are great - if only the colors had suited me better! If you have fair, cool-toned skin like me (13-15), you might want to skip this one. I've included the downsides in my review above. This review ended up focusing more on the cons than the pros. For those with fair skin (lighter than shade 21), the Taupe Gray is too dark. I'd advise against purchasing it. - sk*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinEnlarged PoresRednessMay 4, 2024
The volume powder has an ivory hue that creates a soft, fluffy look. The shading color is a cool-toned brown that doesn't lean too gray or yellow. It's easy to remove with cleansing wipes when taking off your makeup. The color payoff is a bit weak for chin contouring, and the volume powder might be too dark for skin tones lighter than shade 17. It's not quite ideal as a highlighter substitute. Volume powder: Adds dimension when applied to the front of the cheeks, smile lines, nose, and chin. Shading color: Can be used for brows and to create shadows under the eyes. - tn****Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedApr 21, 2024
I have a warm complexion, but I love cool-toned contouring. These days, people say natural is best, but I prefer a more noticeable effect, and this contour delivers just that. That's why I love it. The price is quite steep, and the amount you get is on the smaller side. I bought it during a sale, but if it weren't discounted... Well, I'm using it sparingly. - rb*****Combination SkinDark CirclesWrinkles/ElasticityRednessRecommendedMar 17, 2024
I was really looking forward to this product, so I participated in the pop-up store event and thoroughly tested all the Noveb products! Here's my experience: 1. First, I used the volume powder to mattify the oily areas around my nose, T-zone, under-eyes, and eyebrows. The bright tone helps to neatly define the contours of my face. 2. Then, I applied the lighter shade in the bottom left for nose and philtrum contouring. The color is perfect for creating subtle shadows on the nose. 3. With the darker shade in the bottom right, I created shadows for aegyo-sal (under-eye puff), outer corner depth, and softened the eyeliner tail. Since I naturally lack aegyo-sal, this darker shade was necessary to create a noticeable effect. What impressed me most was how little excess there was and how evenly the colors applied. I'm absolutely thrilled with this high-quality purchase - it was definitely worth it! I wish Noveb products were available in all Olive Young stores nationwide. - js****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesInner DrynessRednessRecommendedFeb 25, 2024
I love that it has a volume powder section, and the color payoff is great! The shade is perfect for contouring too. I'm not quite sure about it. The only thing is, if it's not on sale, the price can be a bit steep.
