Unlike other finishers that often remove the glow from cheeks when trying to prevent hair from sticking to the sides of the face, this product seamlessly blends between applied and non-applied areas. The scent reminded me of cotton, which I didn't find overpowering, but I think it could be polarizing. The curved part of the puff was convenient for applying around the nose area.
ConsIt seems challenging to cover uneven skin texture without losing the glow. The cooling effect is barely noticeable, just felt when applying the cushion, making me question its necessity. If you're not careful with pressure, it can remove the base makeup. Initially, I used it like a powder, rubbing or pressing firmly, which caused some pilling. The puff felt a bit thin, firm, and small, which was disappointing. However, I had no issues with its shape.
TipWhen using this product over makeup, apply with a lighter touch. Instead of pressing firmly or patting vigorously, gently tap it on to minimize pilling.

You can actually see the oil being absorbed instantly, and it's lightweight enough to use both before and after your base makeup!
ConsIt's hard to tell if the product is even on the puff... If you have noticeable pores, this can settle into them quite badly, so you need to build a solid skincare routine first.

It's more suitable as a matte base before applying cushion foundation or liquid foundation. After applying sunscreen, I found it effective to pat the Water Lock Finisher all over my face, then use a cushion on top. This method significantly reduced makeup breakdown throughout the day. The product comes in a white cushion compact, and the formula itself is almost transparent, so it's completely invisible when applied to the face. It feels hydrating when you first apply it, but once it sets, your skin feels velvety smooth. When you touch your face, it's like you've applied a light mattifying primer with a hint of powder. When you apply makeup over this base, it becomes more resistant to oil and sweat, making your makeup less likely to melt off in the summer. While it doesn't completely prevent makeup from breaking down, it extends the wear time from about an hour to around three hours. Thanks to this effect, many people with oily skin use it as a base. I also appreciate that it's colorless, so it doesn't alter the tone of your foundation.
ConsHowever, it runs out incredibly fast. I estimate you only get about 20-30 full-face applications for makeup purposes. It's less than half the amount you'd get from a regular cushion compact. When it seems like you're not getting any product, even flipping the cushion and pressing doesn't help much. If it were priced around $5, it might be more acceptable, but at its regular price, considering how quickly it's used up, I don't think it's very cost-effective. While the heart-shaped puff is cute, it's small and doesn't apply the product very well. I ended up using a different puff I had on hand. The product case is also quite bulky, making it impractical for on-the-go touch-ups. This wasn't an issue for me since I only use it as a base before makeup, but it might be inconvenient for those who want to use it for touch-ups throughout the day.

It feels like it just removes the excess oil on the surface. The cooling sensation with each pat makes it perfect for summer too!
ConsIt might be a bit disappointing for extremely oily skin. The heart-shaped puff is cute, but personally, I found it slightly inconvenient.

Plus, since I really struggle with the heat in summer, I was eager to try something that would feel cool every time I applied it. I finally gave in to my curiosity and bought it! At first, I wondered if it would just soak into the puff, but when I applied it, it did feel refreshingly cool. By the time that cool sensation fades, my skin feels velvety smooth. I'm not using it all over my face, just dabbing it on areas where I want to reduce shine, like around my nose and the sides of my face. Every time I use it, I'm amazed by this new sensation of feeling both hydrated and powdery smooth!
ConsThe transparent formula makes it hard to gauge how much product is on the puff, so it's difficult to control the amount. I keep applying more, and on days when I've done a full face of makeup, it tends to cause pilling. That's why I only use it when I'm wearing light makeup. Also, the puff is a bit inconvenient. It feels too small and stiff, requiring multiple touches to apply the product, which I think contributes to the pilling issue.
