I rushed to the store as soon as I heard that the calendula skin I worship as a deity had been released as a lotion. I made an impulsive purchase and received a lotion sample as a gift, but when I tried it, it stung a bit.
I felt a bit of regret, and the full-size product is on backorder, so it hasn't arrived yet. While debating whether I should cancel the order based on the sample experience, I shared my concerns on the day I received the product, and they were able to explain the reason.
They said that since the calendula skin was made into an emulsion, it contains a lot of moisture. So the stinging sensation I felt when applying it was due to my skin being dehydrated, similar to suddenly watering parched soil. They advised using a small amount and waiting a few days, and sure enough, it's been working great for me now. On lazy skincare days, I just use the calendula skin and emulsion, and my skin feels so comfortable.
It absorbs really quickly and is so hydrating that I've been able to put away the moisturizing serum and ampoule I was using before, just using the emulsion. I even use it as the last step in my morning makeup routine, after sunscreen. The usage experience is just so good, and I've been living the 'redness-away' life lately.

If I only use this, my skin stings

The emulsion has a creamy, soothing texture that melts into the skin without any stickiness, which I'm really satisfied with. After applying it, my skin feels like it's protected by a thin barrier, and it helps soothe the irritation caused by the intense sunlight these days. I haven't experienced any breakouts while using this product, so I'd recommend it to those with sensitive, dry skin!

The moisturizing effect seems a bit weak. The formula is very thin and lightweight, almost to the point of running off the skin. You'd need to apply a fair amount to feel the moisturizing benefits.

The scent is quite pungent, and I'm hesitant to apply it to my face, as it may cause irritation.
