It's worth the high price for repairing the skin barrier. While their customer service isn't great, I still love Avène.

It focuses solely on soothing the skin. It's pricey, doesn't absorb well, and can pill. You need patience - let it sit for a long time to absorb properly. Otherwise, anything you apply afterwards will slide off. When your skin barrier is really compromised, it might cause a burning sensation or tingling. Initially, it feels cool, but later it might seem to just sit on the surface, so take your time letting it absorb.

As a 30-something with sensitive, dry, and thin skin, I'm a devoted Avène fan. Whenever my skin acts up, I stop using everything else and rely solely on Avène. The Cicalfate+ line is my go-to, applying it twice after cleansing, morning, noon, and night. I layer it on, going through almost a whole tube in two weeks.

For those with oily skin, applying this in summer followed by sunscreen is all you need for your skincare routine.

It's really great when you need to calm your skin or when you feel blemishes coming on. It prevents breakouts from getting worse. The hydration level is just right, not excessive, making it perfect for combination dehydrated skin. When used as the first step in your skincare routine, it locks in moisture so well that you can follow up with just a cream and feel no dryness at all.

The only downside is the small size. I wish they'd come out with a larger volume option.

It has a milky color with a slightly viscous texture. I use it when my skin feels dry as it really helps combat deep dehydration.

Using two drops at a time, it doesn't last a month. I first bought it from Coupang, and the second time from Olive Young because it was on sale. Somehow the one from Olive Young feels a bit thinner, but that's probably just my imagination. Other than that, I have no complaints.
