It doesn't leave your skin feeling squeaky clean, but there's a nice, moderate cleansing sensation. After washing, my skin didn't feel overly tight or dry. Rather than being a powerful cleanser, it feels like it gently washes your face.
ConsI noticed a slight redness on my skin after use. Though that might be because I'm prone to redness anyway... I'll need to use it a bit longer to be sure.
TipThis cleanser seems to strike a balance between effective cleansing and gentleness. It's interesting that it has a stretchy texture, which can be fun to use. For those with sensitive skin or redness-prone complexions, it might be worth patch testing or introducing gradually into your skincare routine. Remember, everyone's skin reacts differently, so what works for one person may not work for another. Keep monitoring how your skin responds over time to determine if this cleanser is right for you.

(My skin type: Combination dehydrated, sensitive) ▪︎Irritation level: Low irritation. Its gentle, slightly alkaline formula was perfect for my sensitive skin. I loved that it contains natural ingredients like seaweed, making it mild and non-irritating. ▪︎Texture: True to its name, it has a seaweed-like consistency. The foam has a stretchy, mucilaginous feel. A small amount produces a rich lather. Personally, I appreciated the lack of that typical cosmetic cleanser scent. You can immediately tell it's a gentle product when you use it. ▪︎Cleansing effectiveness: The product description emphasizes its effectiveness on blackheads and pores, and I definitely felt my pores being deeply cleansed with each wash. It gives a thorough cleansing sensation, so I'd recommend it as a second cleanse after makeup removal. It might be too strong for bare skin days, but slightly insufficient for heavy makeup days. ▪︎Hydration: I loved how my skin felt moisturized without any deep dryness after cleansing. There was a slight squeaky-clean feeling on the surface. The hydration level should be sufficient even for those with dry or combination dehydrated skin.
ConsWhen I tried it on a day I only wore sunscreen, it felt a bit too cleansing. I noticed one or two small blemishes around my nose area where I didn't have any before. This tends to happen when cleansing is too thorough for me. I'd caution those with a weak skin barrier to start with small amounts and patch test first.

How to describe it? If we compare it to a cream, it's more like an ultra-nourishing one - thick and substantial, rather than a regular moisturizer. Because of this, it takes quite a bit of rubbing to work up a lather, and even then, the foam feels dense. A small amount goes a long way in terms of foam production, but if you use too much, it takes forever to rinse off. There's a subtle scent to it - reminiscent of a classic men's aftershave or a natural fragrance. It's not overpowering or lingering, so it doesn't interfere with the cleansing experience. When I first used it, I noticed the color of the foam and some dark specks, which made me think it might be similar to those grain-based cleansers. But then I remembered the product description mentioning charcoal, so that's probably what it is. I don't wear color cosmetics, but I do use a mineral sunscreen daily. This cleanser managed to remove it completely without the need for double cleansing - my skin felt squeaky clean afterward. True to its slightly alkaline nature, it really gives that thorough clean feeling. I think this would be great for those with oily skin. If you have dry skin, you might feel a tiny bit of tightness after washing, but it's minimal.
ConsThe fragrance might be hit or miss for some people. It's not overpowering, but with so many fragrance-free options on the market these days, you might want to test it first if you're used to unscented products. Also, I experienced some itching after use. I thought it might be a one-time thing and continued using it, but I felt a mild itching the next time too.
TipStart with a small amount and adjust as needed. The thick texture means you'll need plenty of water to work up a lather - massage gently. For those with dry skin who only use sunscreen (mineral-based) as the final step in their makeup routine, this foam cleanser alone should be sufficient for effective cleansing.

You might notice it doesn't foam up as much as regular cleansing foams, but it works well if you wet your hands and work it into a lather before applying. I have super sensitive combination skin, so I was a bit nervous about irritation when I first tried it. But after using it, my skin didn't feel dry at all - instead, it felt hydrated and refreshed, which I was really happy about! However, if you're looking for that squeaky clean feeling, this might not be for you. If it had suited my skin perfectly, I would have loved to keep using this product.
ConsAfter using it for 3 days straight, I developed blemishes all over my face, so I stopped and switched back to my usual cleansing foam. That seemed to clear things up... Could it really have been this cleanser causing the issues? It's frustrating because I really liked it otherwise! My sister says it works great for her and she's still using it without any problems. I'm a bit envious, to be honest. I developed a painful pimple on my nose that got so inflamed I needed a cortisone shot. I definitely won't be using this again. If you have super sensitive skin, I'd really recommend thinking carefully before trying this product.
TipWhen it comes to cleansers, what works for one person may not work for another due to differences in skin types and sensitivities. It's always a good idea to patch test new products, especially if you have sensitive or acne-prone skin. If you experience any irritation or breakouts, discontinue use and consult with a dermatologist if symptoms persist.

It lathers well and forms a viscous, sticky texture.
ConsAt first, I thought I was the only one experiencing troubles after using it, but then my husband started using it as well and he also had troubles, so we had to temporarily suspend the use of it. ㅠ
TipI'll try it again later and revise the review!

I was really impressed with how effectively it cleaned my pores and provided a deep cleanse. What I particularly liked was that my skin didn't feel tight after washing.
ConsMy personal experience was mixed. The first day was fine, but on the second day of use, I developed severe redness around my forehead and cheeks. Initially, I thought it was for dry skin, but it turns out it's actually for combination to oily skin types. It wasn't as hydrating as I expected. It felt like my skin barrier was overly stripped - something I wish I hadn't experienced. I wouldn't recommend this for those with super sensitive skin or extremely dry skin.

And the design? The attractive packaging alone was enough to lift my spirits!
ConsThe downside was that my skin developed small blemishes, and I didn't feel like it effectively removed excess oil. I could feel a rough texture when touching my face. Initially, when blemishes appeared, I wasn't sure if it was due to this product, so I continued using it. However, throughout the usage period, I kept getting minor breakouts. It's hard to call it a coincidence since my previous cleansing foam actually helped prevent blemishes. Unfortunately, this product doesn't seem to suit my skin.

I was lucky enough to be selected as one of The Hwahae Testers to try out the 'Shionle Seaweed Ampoule Cleansing Foam'. Here's my take: Skin Type: - Sensitive, dehydrated, oily skin Texture and Feel: - The scent is natural, reminiscent of seaweed - a bit earthy and marine-like. No added fragrances here! - The texture is grayish, thick, and dense with a satisfyingly sticky consistency. - When I squeezed it onto the back of my hand, I could tell that just a small amount with a bit of water would create a ton of lather. - Sure enough, with just a little water and some rubbing between my hands, it foamed up impressively. - As you can see in the attached photo, it's quite viscous and sticky. - Even when wet and lathered up, it maintains its bouncy texture. - After steaming my face in the shower, I tried washing with it. Rolling it around with my palms, I didn't experience any tingling or discomfort. - It's supposed to be slightly acidic, and I'd say its cleansing power is moderate. - Unlike some cleansers that amp up cleansing power with harsh ingredients that can stress your skin, this one seems gentler due to its more natural formulation.
ConsWell, I wouldn't call this a downside per se, but it's more about my health condition rather than the product itself. The next day, I noticed several red spots on my skin. I don't think it's because the product is irritating, but rather because my skin is so sensitive that even a change in water can cause a reaction. I've been caring for a newborn lately, so lack of sleep has probably weakened my immune system too. In any case, I can't solely blame the product for the red spots because I didn't experience any itching or other warning signs while using it. I imagine people with normal immune systems would be fine with it.
TipFor an even gentler cleansing experience with richer lather, try using a foam net after taking a warm shower to steam your face thoroughly.

The texture of this cleanser is gentle, and it lathers up nicely with rich foam. It has a pleasantly bouncy consistency and absorbs into the skin smoothly. It's as thick and gooey as a snail cream! Right after cleansing, I was pleased that my skin didn't feel overly tight.
ConsPerhaps due to my sensitive skin, I woke up the next morning with a blemish on my left cheek. Since I hadn't changed any other products in my routine, I suspect this cleanser might be the culprit. My sister, on the other hand, had no issues after using it. She found it cleansed her skin well and was generally satisfactory. I guess it's a bit of a 'your mileage may vary' situation. As for the seaweed scent? It wasn't to my liking, unfortunately.

When I lather it up, I can't help but want to play with the bubbles! 〰️ Cleansing Effectiveness 〰️ While cleansing, it feels more slippery than other products, which made me wonder if it was cleaning properly. But surprisingly, it rinses off cleanly. Of course, double cleansing is a must after wearing makeup! After washing, my skin felt a bit tight, but I think that's more of a pore-tightening sensation rather than dryness. 〰️ Scent 〰️ I pondered over the scent for a while when I first smelled it, but couldn't quite place it. I finally decided it must be a seaweed-like scent! It's not overpowering or bothersome at all. 〰️ Recommended Skin Types 〰️ I think all skin types could use this well, but those with oily skin might find the slippery, moisturizing texture a bit concerning.
ConsThe slippery texture makes it hard to tell if you've rinsed it all off or not. I used this product morning and night for three days, and from the second day, I developed blemishes on both cheeks. I've stopped using it for now to let my skin recover, but I plan to try it again once my skin is back to normal! I'll update my review then (I'm not entirely sure if this cleansing foam is the cause yet!).
TipIt lathers up well, so you can use less product compared to others! Make sure to work it into a lather before cleansing!
