It seems like it would be particularly effective for those with oily or acne-prone skin. My skin type keywords are dry, combination, sensitive, and thin skin. Initially, I used the product to remove makeup as shown in the photo. But when I tried it as a skin corrector for makeup that had broken down due to excess sebum, I found it to be incredibly useful! Although I have dry skin, the hot and humid summer environment has increased my overall sebum production and sweat output. Using powder makes my skin too dry, but keeping it moisturized causes my makeup to break down quickly. It's quite a dilemma. I happened to try it for touch-ups and was pleasantly surprised by how well it worked. Highly recommended for touch-ups! It easily removes the buildup of darkening, sebum, dust, and patchiness, leaving your skin looking freshly made up after touch-ups. Even with my sensitive skin, it didn't cause any redness, which made me love it even more. I think I'll be using this effectively every day throughout the summer!
ConsI'd only recommend this for skin and lip makeup! The makeup products in the photo are a combination of 'pencil liner' and 'eyeshadow', which have the weakest staying power. I thought they would be easily removed with this cleansing water, but it took about two applications to remove them completely. (Also, it stung a little when it got into my eyes.) I think it might be difficult to remove more long-lasting water and oil-proof products with this. On days when you wear heavy eye makeup, it's better to use a dedicated lip & eye makeup remover, then finish with this cleansing water for a fresh feel. I'd mainly recommend the mung bean cleansing water for the T-zone where sebum production is high.
TipThe product volume is generous! Since it's not travel-sized, it's a good idea to decant it into a 20ml or 30ml mist bottle or plastic medicine bottle for on-the-go use. I usually only touch up once during lunch, so I carry two cotton pads and 20ml of decanted cleansing water with me. Saturate the pad well, let it cool your skin like a pack, then gently wipe. Follow up with sunscreen and cushion foundation for a quick fix! The additional item you'll need is diligence!
