I was considering trying an enzyme powder, but heard it was a hassle to mix with water and difficult to store in humid places. So I bought this foam cleanser with papain, and it's had an incredible effect on my skin texture. First off, it has a subtle, pleasant rice-sweet scent that puts me in a good mood. The texture is soft and fluffy, lathering up nicely. The cleansing power seems great too! I first use a cleansing water with cotton pads to remove makeup, then follow up with this foam cleanser, which removes everything. Now for the most important part - the results! Right after cleansing, my skin feels smooth and refined. The flakiness and dead skin cells that used to ruin my base makeup have significantly decreased. Applying skincare afterwards feels different - it absorbs better. The texture on my nose area has really improved too. Using this just makes my skin feel amazing! While my previous cleanser was gentle and slightly exfoliating, this one effectively removes dead skin cells with noticeable results after just one use. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting quick results. Even if you have a main cleanser you use often, this is great to keep as a backup for when your skin needs extra care. I bought it for that purpose, but it's become my go-to cleanser!
ConsFirst off, the amount of product is quite small. The dispenser opening is large, so you end up using more than necessary (partly due to the texture). While the container is bigger than the actual product volume due to the enzyme formulation, it runs out way too quickly. I thought it was affordable, but you use it up much faster than other cleansers - about 3 times as fast for the same volume. Also, while the website says it's okay for daily use, I wonder if that's really true given how effective it is. That said, I haven't experienced any irritation, redness, or weakening of my skin barrier even with continuous use.
TipEnzymes work best in warm conditions and when given time to act. For best results, create a lather with this cleanser when your bathroom is steamy from the shower. Apply it to your face and leave it on for a short while before rinsing. In my experience, this doubles the effectiveness!

The cleansing experience was incredibly gentle, leaving my skin feeling squeaky clean yet still hydrated. As an enzyme cleanser with a peeling gel-like exfoliation effect, it allowed for mild dead skin cell management. While I'm generally indifferent to enzyme-based skincare, I find that cleansers work well for me, so I'm satisfied with this one. The texture feels a bit like rice cake. I tried all three recommended methods, but personally, I preferred applying it to my damp face after the first cleanse, then gradually adding water as I massaged it in. It seems ideal for those with sensitive skin who want a mild daily exfoliation rather than intense dead skin cell removal. The cleansing effectiveness was good. While I usually do a double cleanse with full makeup, I often found myself only using this product for a single cleanse when I just had sunscreen on. It even removed all traces of my transfer-proof sunscreen.
ConsSince it's a gommage foam designed for peeling, sometimes bits of the product can remain on the face, so you need to rinse thoroughly. I often noticed white, eraser-like particles stuck in my hair... Also, it tends to get used up quickly. I thought it was gentle enough to use for both morning and evening cleansing, but I noticed it depleting faster than a regular cleansing foam, perhaps because I was using more per application. It's also on the pricier side.
TipThere's no need to squeeze out a large amount when using it as a mask. I initially made the mistake of applying too much, thinking it was a mask, but I realized that using just slightly more than a regular cleansing foam is sufficient to cover the face like a pack. After applying it all over, gradually add small amounts of water while massaging. This method effectively removes dead skin cells, which is great.
