First off, the texture is incredibly soft and velvety! I loved that there's no excess powder even when you really work it into your skin. It gives a subtle glow, perfect for those who prefer a natural makeup look. Surprisingly, it has more of a white base with less of a blue beam effect than expected, making it ideal for those looking for a daily highlighter with a slight white cast. The color payoff is smooth and even. As someone who prefers a more noticeable highlighter that screams "I'm wearing highlighter!", I found this a bit underwhelming. I was also expecting a more pronounced blue beam effect, but it feels more like a white highlighter with just a hint of blue, which was slightly disappointing for me. This highlighter would work well for those with super sensitive skin looking for a gentle glow without irritation. It could be a great option for layering in your daily makeup routine to achieve that coveted "Inner Glow" look. For those with combination dehydrated skin, this might provide a nice balance of luminosity without emphasizing pores or blemishes. - ys******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedMar 8, 2025
* Shades 11-13 are vulnerable to dullness, ideal for cool undertones * My favorite blue-toned highlighters: Rem Beauty Miss Neptune, Cezanne Mix & Cheek 10, Make Up For Ever Bouncy Lilac The Wave shade is like Laka's Water Beam but with slightly more intense blue pigment. If you found Water Beam too whitish, you'll likely love this one. They're quite similar though, so I'd recommend just getting Wave. The texture is very similar to Laka - a wet-type formula. It's not a finely-milled, light-reflecting highlighter, but more like a shimmery eyeshadow with sparse glitter. It's not really a 'beam' that gives dimension and radiance, but rather a pearlescent shadow that adds subtle color intrigue. If you're expecting a vivid, reflective blue like Ofra's Space Baby, you might be disappointed. But given how rare proper blue highlighters are in K-beauty, this is satisfying for daily use. Instead of creating dimension with a white base, it has blue and silver pearls that sparkle on their own. This means it's not suitable for the nose bridge, but great for inner corners or cheeks to cool down your complexion. As a beauty junkie who hoards anything blue or purple, I find Wave a bit too tame, but it's still lovely. While 2NE1 offers great quality for the price and I plan to keep an eye on their products, personally I find silky semi-matte finishes (pearl to bone broth glow) more flattering than dewy, glass skin looks. So realistically, I probably won't reach for this often.
