First off, it gives a hydrated glow. Just two pumps are enough to evenly create a dewy look across your entire face. I loved that it wasn't heavy or sticky, and didn't feel suffocating on the skin. While it's not an extremely intense glass skin effect, it provides a nice, subtle hydrated glow that makes your skin look healthy. There's no dramatically impressive effect. The performance relative to its price isn't great.

The formula isn't drying, so those with combination dehydrated skin or oily skin should make sure to use powder thoroughly! I'm currently using this product along with a makeup fixer, and while some primers can crack or clump when they're dry and meet the fixer, this product has a nice balance of hydration and richness that doesn't dry out quickly even after applying the fixer! The amount seems small... If you wear makeup daily, you might feel like it's not enough. Also, the glass container makes it a bit heavy.

Here's a quick guide: - Chemical sunscreen (without tone-up effect) > Base prep > Primer > Foundation - Base prep > Physical sunscreen (with tone-up effect) > Primer > Foundation However, since many base preps and primers already include sufficient SPF, I personally recommend skipping the separate sunscreen and going straight for prep > primer > foundation. It's simpler and just as effective!

It's great for those with a lot of redness who prefer a pink base. However, it tends to reject pink and orange blushers. Overall review: 1. While many use Yeonjak Base Prep as a pre-makeup primer with its runny, pale yellow water-gel texture, Dear Dahlia Skin Prep has a pearlescent, opaque white formula. One pump forms a rounded shape on the back of your hand, feeling like a thin, slightly sticky hydrating cream. 2. Yeonjak Base Prep absorbs quickly, feeling almost unnoticeable - perfect for all skin types, especially combination dehydrated or oily skin. Dear Dahlia Skin Prep also absorbs fast but leaves a more noticeable moisturizing effect. It's not heavy, but you can definitely feel it on your skin - ideal for those with dry skin. 3. Both should be applied after sunscreen. 4. A major advantage of this Skin Prep is its pearlescent formula, which enhances the glow of subsequent base makeup. In practice, it doesn't create an oily sheen, but rather a radiant, high-end makeup look. 5. Neither this nor Yeonjak work as pore primers. Choose these products to improve base makeup adherence, extend wear time, and prevent makeup from drying out or separating. 6. One downside is the high concentration of natural oils like lavender, sweet almond, argan kernel, olive, and grapefruit peel oils. If you're sensitive to any of these, you might experience blemishes. 7. Personally, I think grapefruit peel and olive oils didn't agree with my skin. Throughout the month of use, I developed pimples around my brow area and butterfly zone, which became inflamed. 8. Despite loving the longevity, the radiance from the pearls, and the luxurious feel, I couldn't continue using it due to skin reactions. I'm envious of those who can use it without issues! I've mentioned the downsides above. Mainly, there's a possibility of blemishes due to the natural oils. For me, grapefruit peel and olive oils didn't work well. Double-check the ingredients before purchasing. The product itself is good, though.
