As the heat subsided, the acne stopped appearing, but red marks remained where the blemishes had been. This was incredibly stressful, so I bought and tried every skincare product with 'brightening' or 'blemish care' in its name. I purchased this product after watching a YouTube video praising its effectiveness for blemish care. As you can see in the photo, it has a brownish tint. The texture is truly water-like, so you need to apply it quickly! (Otherwise, it'll drip right off...) Despite its watery consistency, it feels a bit sticky after application. But it's not bothersome enough to worry about. What satisfied me most was seeing visible results. While the marks didn't disappear dramatically, they noticeably faded within a month! If you have smaller red acne marks than mine, you might see even better results!
ConsThe opaque packaging made it a bit frustrating to check how much product was left. Also, while the red marks initially faded, they seemed to reach a plateau and didn't disappear completely, which was somewhat disappointing. (If you're stressed about red marks, I'd recommend getting laser treatment at a dermatologist. No matter how good the ingredients are, skincare products are still just cosmetics after all.)

This product, however, has a water-like, fluid texture that absorbs quickly into the skin without causing any deep dryness. It doesn't leave an oily residue either. Right after application, the skin feels plump and there's no sticky residue. The color is a very subtle peach tint, and the fragrance is mild and pleasant without lingering. 💙 What I loved As mentioned, with my acne-prone, sensitive, and oily skin, I don't prefer products with high oil content like shea butter. Often, other brightening serums would feel heavy and increase oil production. But this product is 🌿 watery + leaves no residue + zero skin congestion 🌿 which I personally love. 💙 Blemish and brightening care I mainly used this product for my nighttime routine. Being a water-like serum, it doesn't leave any sticky residue when applied at night. It seems to absorb well overnight, and in the morning, I noticed my blemishes and hyperpigmentation had visibly faded. Not only did it help with blemishes, but it also brightened my complexion. I still have some marks left, so I plan to continue using it consistently! 💙 Recommended skin types I think this product is suitable for all skin types throughout the year as a lightweight night treatment. Of course, those with dry skin might want to layer a rich moisturizer on top, while oily skin types like me can follow up with a light moisturizer.
ConsI personally used this product with great satisfaction, so it's hard to point out any downsides, but here are some minor observations: 💙 Room for improvement Occasionally, I found it a bit tricky to control the amount dispensed due to its fluid texture, but it wasn't a major inconvenience. Depending on your skin condition, it might feel a bit heavy when used with other serums or ampoules. 💙 Potential irritation Given my super sensitive skin, I experienced some itching after application and thought I might be having an allergic reaction. However, to my surprise, I woke up with clearer-looking skin. Even those with sensitive skin like me should be able to use this without worry. Highly recommended!
TipI started with COSRX toner pads, and since many of their products have high concentrations, they can be a bit intense for sensitive skin like mine. So, I made sure to hydrate my skin thoroughly after cleansing. I didn't apply the serum immediately after toning, but waited until the skin had absorbed some moisture. I always applied a booster skin serum after toning, and then 5-10 minutes later, I'd apply this product. The combination of skin serum + Arbutin 2% Blemish Serum is amazing! When used as part of my nighttime routine, my skin feels incredibly soft the next morning. As someone with oily skin, I always do a light foam cleanse in the morning, even after sleeping. With this combination for nighttime care, I noticed brighter complexion + no deep dryness + smoother skin texture!

Oily products tend to sit on top of my skin, clogging pores and causing blemishes. I especially struggled with blemish-fighting products as they often have a sticky consistency. But wow, I was pleasantly surprised by this COSRX product! It has a watery texture that feels just right for my skin - not too thick or heavy at all. Gentleness: 1/5 I've heard that ingredients like retinol and vitamin C can be harsh if not used correctly. You really need to pay attention to your skin's condition when using them. However, this product was surprisingly gentle! Even though I've been sleep-deprived due to upcoming exams, I didn't experience any stinging or irritation.
Cons✨ Room for improvement ✨ Oiliness when layering: 3/5 At first application, the watery texture felt fine. However, after layering it 3 times as suggested in the instructions, it felt less like it was absorbing and more like it was creating an oily film on my skin. It made my skin feel a bit suffocated. I typically apply products in thin layers, and for me, 1-2 layers seem to be the sweet spot. Effectiveness for acne marks: 1/5 ***(As of now, after receiving the product)*** At this point, it's hard to judge whether it's been effective or not. I haven't noticed any significant changes, so I'll need to update this after using it for a longer period!

I've always been a huge fan of COSRX's Vitamin C 23 Serum because of its excellent brightening effects. You could really see your skin becoming clearer after just 3 days of use - that feeling of your face becoming noticeably brighter! However, its drawback was the stinging sensation on application, and the yellow formula staining pillowcases. Plus, you couldn't use it during the day. This Discoloration Serum seems to have addressed all these issues! While the brightening and blemish-improving effects might not feel as dramatic as the Vitamin C 23 Serum, I love that it has a true serum texture rather than an oily feel. It's non-irritating and can be used during the day. That's why I plan to settle on using the Discoloration Serum for daytime brightening and blemish care, and the Vitamin C 23 Serum at night. The bottle design is quite sophisticated and beautiful. I particularly appreciate its substantial weight.
ConsSome might find this unique viscous texture a bit heavy! While I enjoyed it during the fall and winter seasons, it might feel a bit suffocating for those with blemish-prone or oily skin types during the peak of summer.
TipThe accompanying pamphlet with product explanations and line features was extremely helpful.
