Using the light, hydration-focused products from summer leaves me feeling dry, but the rich winter products feel too heavy and I worry about blemishes. Luckily, this product arrived just in time. Mixing a bit with my usual moisturizer instantly makes my skin feel comfortable and less oily. We all know jojoba oil is great, but it's about how to maximize its benefits with an improved texture. Compared to other brands' jojoba oils, I'm really satisfied with how much fresher this feels. I'm also excited about the inclusion of ceramides and other ingredients that are good for improving the skin barrier. While I haven't dramatically felt my skin barrier improve after just over a week of use, I can definitely say it helps calm my flaky, rough skin and noticeably controls sebum. It's a great product for this transitional season.
ConsTo be honest, there's not much to complain about. The texture feels less slippery for an oil - maybe because it's hydrophilic? Instead of forming a slick layer, it seems to blend with the skin's moisture as it absorbs, making it feel a bit less glide-y and more substantial for an oil. There's no strong scent, but there is a very faint herbal or floral aroma, maybe from the oil itself. There's also a tiny hint of what could be described as a slightly acrid, burnt smell, but it actually gives it a herbal, calming vibe that I personally like. However, this could be a turn-off for some people. The packaging is really pretty, but it tends to drip a bit and it's not super easy to control the amount. It's frustrating when you just want to drop one or two drops on your cream and can't. I understand it's designed this way to prevent oxidation, but still...
TipThe pamphlet that came with it suggests using it as the first step right after cleansing, or mixing it with toner, but no way! That prevents the moisture from absorbing quickly and can lead to more sebum production later. Whether you have combination dehydrated skin or dry skin, always layer on tons of hydration first! Apply all your non-oily products, then absorb a few drops of this oil, and finally top it off with your oily products or creams. That's the secret to amazing results!
