I purchased it based on a friend's recommendation, but I initially thought it would be similar to a Daiso product. However, the effects have been much more pronounced. At first, I wasn't sure if the product was the reason, but after using it multiple times, I realized this product is responsible. The formula is on the runny side, and as it's a serum, it doesn't absorb immediately. This actually leads me to massage it in more, which is beneficial since the product contains microneedles. Doing so provides a better experience. The day after using this product, my face definitely looks brighter.
ConsThe absorbency, which is both an advantage and a disadvantage, is not great, so you need to apply it for a longer time. Since it contains a lot of fine needles, it is more irritating and the fine needles last longer, so it may be irritating to those with sensitive or delicate skin.
TipI only apply it every 2-3 days before bed as it seems a bit irritating to use daily. Using a product with a regenerative effect after using this one seems to help see results faster.

I decided to use this product when I noticed my pores and fine lines, which weren't usually visible, started appearing clearly on camera during close-up shots. Especially when I was becoming more concerned about my pores, I immediately purchased it after reading the product description claiming it 'tackles problematic pores and early wrinkles simultaneously with retinol.' First, I loved the packaging design. It's clean and minimal without any unnecessary elements, and the cap isn't a screw-type but a convenient 'click' open-close structure, allowing for hygienic use. Above all, the pump dispenser, rather than a squeeze tube, is really convenient. It's easy to dispense the right amount, and the contents stay clean without contamination. The texture is close to a hydrating, watery type. The color is a subtle yellow tint reminiscent of vitamin A. When squeezed onto the back of my hand, it has just enough viscosity not to run, yet boasts excellent absorption, seeming to melt into the skin upon contact. It's neither heavy nor sticky, lacking that rich feel typical of retinol products, making it comfortable to use even in summer. Moreover, it doesn't leave a sticky residue after application, and its very fresh finish makes it compatible with subsequent products. It absorbs naturally into the skin without pilling, even when used before makeup, making it easy to incorporate into a daily skincare routine. Except for particularly sensitive days, I could use it without irritation. I'd give it high marks for hitting the trifecta of absorption, freshness, and ease of use.
ConsThe strongest sensation I felt upon first using this product was a tingling sensation. While it was fine when tested on the back of my hand, I was momentarily taken aback by a stinging irritation that lasted about 5 seconds when I first applied it to my face. Although it subsided over time, those with sensitive skin should be aware that this initial reaction is characteristic of retinol to avoid being startled. The second drawback is the limitation in moisturizing power. While it has the advantage of being fresh and quickly absorbed, it lacks that deeply nourishing feel. If you have combination dehydrated skin like me or suffer from deep dryness, you might find the hydration insufficient when using this serum alone in your nighttime skincare routine. When using it as part of a night routine, you definitely need to layer a cream on top to prevent skin from feeling tight. Also, this product, true to retinol's nature, shows changes with consistent use rather than quick results. So after using it for a few days, you might wonder, 'Is this really effective?' Especially for those with high expectations for 'pore improvement' or 'firmness', it might be difficult to feel definitive effects with short-term use, potentially leading to premature disappointment. While the pump structure of the packaging is hygienic and convenient, one drawback is the difficulty in controlling the amount dispensed. Even a slight press of the pump releases a large amount of product, with one pump covering the forehead, both cheeks, and chin with excess. This might be inconvenient for those who want to use it in smaller, divided amounts. The price point is also slightly ambiguous. While Cellamax's pricing is generally reasonable, when compared to other gentle retinol serums, it falls on the more expensive side, which might feel burdensome for beginners.
TipFor those with sensitive skin or those new to retinol, I recommend starting with every other day use or applying a small amount. If you feel a tingling sensation, try applying plenty of hydration before use and finishing with an oil-based cream to significantly reduce irritation. If you want to use it before makeup, quickly absorb a small amount for a fresh finish without pilling. Instead of fully pressing the pump, gently press it to dispense small amounts for easier control!
