The color stains really well. Once you apply it, you don't have to worry about it except when eating. The formula is watery when applying, so if you have dark or flaky lips, it might not stain evenly and could look patchy. Also, the color is quite intense, making it difficult to apply lightly. Apply a thin layer, then gently blot with a tissue. For areas with less color, apply another thin layer and pat to blend naturally. Finish by lightly dabbing your lips with a tissue to prevent patchiness and transfer. For best results, make sure to exfoliate dead skin cells before application.

Tony Moly tints are known for their great color payoff and staining power. As a self-proclaimed tint nomad, I'm always trying new ones. This goes on moisturizing at first, but it sets in a flash and turns matte in no time! I swatched it on my hand and tried to wipe it off with a toner-soaked cotton pad right away - the stain was still that intense! In my book, the color payoff and staining power are insane. I got so excited that I ordered Rose Shocking too, and I'll be back with a review on that one. There's no issue with dead skin cells, but if you tend to pick at your lips when they're dry, I'd recommend applying a light lip balm first. Highly recommend for those who talk a lot or hate it when only the lip line remains after eating! If you apply this over a moisturizing lip balm, it might not adhere well to the upper lip. Since it sets so quickly, it's challenging to create a gradient effect. You need to quickly rub it in with your fingers or do the 'mmwa' motion right after application. But be careful, as it stains fingers easily too. It sets so fast, you might not even have time to grab a cotton swab! Also, when I checked my lips at lunchtime after applying in the morning, I noticed a slight border line on the inner part of my lips. But that might be because I hastily applied it at a crosswalk and even enthusiastically put it on a coworker right after arriving at work. Interestingly, my coworker's application was still perfect at lunch. So, individual experiences may vary! You don't need a separate vibrant glow tint if you apply this on bare lips and top it with a moisturizing glow lip product! For those wanting a gradient look, try applying a matte base lip color first, then blend this tint on top.
