A 40-year cushion foundation journey After using dozens of Age 0000 series products for over a decade, I've finally found my summer holy grail with this EasyDew Melasma Cushion! First, let me share my skin type: combination, dehydrated, and sensitive. As someone who always breaks out for the first week when trying new products, I'd say I'm quite sensitive! I usually keep at least two or three different types of skincare on my vanity and alternate between them depending on my skin's condition. But when it came to cushions, I just couldn't switch... Even when I tried, I always went back to Age 0000... 😢 After crying out for something new, I've finally found it!! ✅ My preferred cushion type: Absolutely must be hydrating! I prefer a natural fade over long-lasting coverage. No accentuating dead skin cells (I hate when it looks cakey) No gray undertones 🙅♀️ I want a natural color that suits Asian skin tones. I've noticed that super long-lasting formulas often lead to dryness. ✅ What I love about the EasyDew Melasma Cushion: - Not drying (doesn't emphasize flakes) - No pilling - Shade 21 doesn't look ashy, it's a perfect match for Asian skin tones, giving a natural, bright look. - Not sticky - The finish doesn't actually feel powdery, but it looks like it! (It's not matte either, so it's perfect for those who dislike dryness) - Good staying power! No noticeable fading until 4 PM after applying in the morning. You might want to touch up if you have plans after work, though. - No pilling or caking when touching up - High sun protection with SPF 50, PA++++ (especially satisfying for summer) - The scent isn't overwhelming, so I can even wear it during morning sickness After using it for about a month, I don't have any particular complaints It's an excellent replacement for sunscreen cushions in summer - ng******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsJun 20, 2025
These days, even when a product claims to be shade 23, it often comes out lighter. But this one? It's the quintessential shade 23 - spot on! It's famous as a cushion for covering dark spots, but I didn't feel like it did much to conceal them or even cover them when applying. There's also some slight pilling and it emphasizes dead skin cells. It might even darken the skin a bit? If you're going to use it, I'd recommend it for oily skin types. - 22*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesRecommendedMay 30, 2025
It provides a yellowish coverage, though I'm not sure about the matte finish. It doesn't particularly cause blemishes, but honestly, its ability to cover dark spots isn't noticeably different from other products. - sy*****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 30, 2025
I was looking for a cushion foundation with good coverage to conceal my blemishes. I thought a darker shade might cover better, so I went for #23. However, it turned out darker than my usual #23, and I wish there was a #22 in between. In hindsight, I might have been even happier with #21 as it could have brightened my complexion. You know, the company that makes this cushion is famous for their freckle-fighting ampoule. They've apparently included that in this cushion, making it more hydrating than others. To achieve the desired coverage, you can build it up by applying multiple layers to the same area. I've noticed other users pairing this with whitening, freckle-reducing, or anti-wrinkle products for a synergistic effect. Still, I love how unique the green cushion looks, and I keep it tucked away in my makeup pouch. The downside is my poor shade selection. I could have gone with #21 instead. When choosing a cushion foundation, it's crucial to consider your skin tone and desired effect. While darker shades may offer more coverage, they can also look unnatural if too dark for your complexion. It's often better to match your skin tone closely and build coverage where needed. The hydrating properties of this cushion, likely due to the inclusion of their famous ampoule, can be particularly beneficial for those with dry or combination skin. Remember, layering skincare and makeup products can enhance their individual benefits, so consider your entire routine when introducing a new product. - da*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityMay 22, 2025
The coverage seems pretty good. I was also impressed with how quickly it was delivered. It doesn't adhere well to my skin... I guess because it's an ampoule, but after just 1-2 hours, my face becomes incredibly oily... It's so frustrating. - sa***********Normal SkinDark CirclesWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedMay 22, 2025
The coverage and adherence are fantastic! It's quite moisturizing, so I'd recommend this more for those with dry skin rather than oily complexions. It seems to darken a bit over time, and I noticed some breakdown after a while... The initial application doesn't seem to last as long as I'd like. - sd****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedMay 12, 2025
I have super sensitive skin and large pores. I've always wanted to apply foundation smoothly without any issues, but because of my sensitive skin, most foundations tend to settle into or cover my pores. When I apply a base, it feels heavy and causes blemishes, which is uncomfortable. So, I was looking for a lightweight cushion foundation and decided to test this one at Olive Young. I liked it so much that I bought it. While the coverage isn't perfect, the color is bright and it looks natural as time passes. Brightening effects for dark spots don't happen overnight, so I haven't noticed any dramatic improvements. But most importantly, it doesn't cause any blemishes, which I love! By the afternoon, it does blend in naturally, but the color fades quite a bit, so I need to touch it up occasionally. It seems like you need to adjust your skincare routine according to the season. This cushion doesn't feel particularly hydrating. If you have dry skin, it's a good idea to balance it with a hydrating base. - zh*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessMay 4, 2025
It has great staying power and provides excellent coverage, so I think I'll be using it for a long time. Highly recommended! It tends to separate on the face and makes my complexion look darker. Also, it's difficult to control the amount of product used. - al********Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 2, 2025
I bought this because I had so many dark spots and blemishes, and I'm impressed with its coverage. It feels a bit thick when applied, and the shade is darker and more yellow-toned compared to other brands' #23. - ki**********Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedApr 26, 2025
It really covers up dark spots completely, and with continued use, you'll even notice them fading! The puff applicator is fantastic too! While the coverage might be a bit lighter than expected, I'm thrilled that it actually helps fade my dark spots! Pro tip: Spritz some water on the puff for even better adherence to your skin!
