While Aromatica's green Root Enhancer also has a cooling effect, this one is even more potent. It's actually better suited for summer use! I spray it on my scalp after towel-drying my hair post-shampoo, and the cooling sensation is delightful. Since I use it daily, I go through it quickly and keep several bottles on hand. Even with my oily scalp, it doesn't leave any residue, just a light, hydrating feel. As a side note, there's a strong scent when you first spray it, but it dissipates quickly and doesn't linger in your hair!
ConsI wouldn't recommend this for those with super sensitive skin on the scalp. The cooling sensation can be quite intense.
TipFor those with combination dehydrated skin or who are looking to layer their skincare, this product can be a great addition to your routine. It provides excellent hydration without feeling sticky or causing pilling. The formula absorbs well, leaving your scalp feeling refreshed without any excess oiliness. If you're dealing with scalp issues like blemishes or dead skin cells, this might help in maintaining a healthier scalp environment.

After using it myself, I can say it works amazingly well with my oily scalp shampoo! It definitely hydrates my scalp, keeping my hair from getting greasy even until the evening. When you spray it on your scalp, it creates a cooling sensation that's perfect for summer use! With consistent application, you'll even notice baby hairs growing (see the second photo!). I'm absolutely thrilled with this product!
ConsIf you don't dry your hair immediately after applying the tonic, it can harden on the scalp and form white flakes that look like dandruff... I'm not sure if my scalp just doesn't absorb the tonic well, but if anyone else experiences this, please check out the tip below! Using this method, I was able to prevent those dandruff-like clumps from forming after using the tonic!
TipWhen I first started using this, I noticed small clumps forming on my scalp that looked like dandruff, which I don't usually get. I wasn't sure if it was because of the oily scalp shampoo or the hair tonic (I had changed both products at the same time!). It seems that if you don't dry your hair right after applying the tonic, it hardens on the scalp and forms what looks like dead skin cells... I usually focus on applying it to my bangs area, but if I start drying from the ends of my hair instead of the front, the tonic hardens in that short time. So, I recommend using a hair dryer immediately after applying the tonic to ensure it's fully absorbed into the scalp.
