My dark circles were so severe that when I searched for "dark circle concealer" online, this product immediately popped up! After reading the reviews, I learned that while its staying power is average, its coverage is top-notch. So, I decided to give it a try! In the second photo, the left swatch is shade 0 Light, and the right is shade 1 Blooming. Here's a color comparison for you! After using it, here's my honest review: ❣️ It applies incredibly smoothly with great absorbs ❣️ The coverage is fantastic Shade 0 Salmon Light (pink-beige) is not only great as a dark circle concealer but could also work wonderfully as a nose highlighter! The shades run quite light, so those with skin tones 22 or 23 might find it looks a bit ashy when covering dark circles! Also, it has a rich texture, so I wouldn't recommend it for summer or for those with oily skin! The texture is quite smooth, so I sometimes use it like a foundation for touch-ups, patting it on with a puff! - th******************Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsRecommendedJun 21, 2025
• Skin type: Dry, non-sensitive skin that doesn't get oily even hours after applying cushion foundation. I've tried various skincare products without experiencing any blemishes. • Reason for purchase: I have genetic dark circles and wanted a flawless skin look. With a fair complexion (between shades 17-13), I opted for shade 0. • Pros after use: It doesn't settle into fine lines. I recommend applying it under the eyes. The texture is just right - not too hard or too melty - making application easy. • Cons after use: Being a light shade, it doesn't completely cover dark circles. When trying to conceal blemishes, it tends to slide off rather than stay put when patted with a puff. The light color also means it's not suitable for covering redness. If your main concern is dark circles, I'd suggest a darker shade. For those looking to cover various skin concerns like blemishes and redness, I'd recommend The Saem pot concealer. However, be aware that some users report skin reactions to The Saem concealer, so check the ingredients before purchasing. Remember to patch test any new product, especially if you have sensitive skin. The right concealer can work wonders for your complexion, but finding the perfect match often requires some trial and error. - yo*********Dehydrated SkinInner DrynessMay 2, 2025
I remember trying the salmon concealer over a decade ago and it was way too dark. But when I heard they released a lighter shade, I decided to give it another shot. I'm pleased to say the color is spot-on this time! The application is smooth and it absorbs well into the skin. The pot packaging makes it a bit inconvenient to use. The coverage is moderate to low, but on the plus side, it's quite hydrating and doesn't crease much. - ch**************Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedFeb 13, 2025
I bought this during a sale and I think it's not bad if you consider the value for money I purchased this because it was supposed to be more moisturizing than other concealers, but it's not exceptionally hydrating and the coverage is really disappointing - me********Normal SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 13, 2025
I bought this to cover dark circles. These days, concealers seem to come in palettes with multiple shades rather than just one color. Most basic concealer palettes include a reddish concealer, which many use to hide dark circles. So I hadn't thought about buying a separate concealer for dark circles and just mixed existing colors. But when a friend strongly recommended this, I decided to try it specifically for dark circles. The more I used it, the more I understood why they recommended it. The concealer has an incredibly hydrating formula, so it doesn't crease under the eyes at all. The color is also well-pigmented, making it truly ideal for dark circles. When I used to combine colors from concealer palettes for dark circles, it would make my under-eye area look cakey, and due to the formula, my makeup would look thick and even separate over time. But because this formula is so moisturizing for a concealer, it completely eliminates those drawbacks. Even just looking at its performance, it's a really great product. And with its affordable price, I'd love to recommend it. There's honestly nothing bad about it. I just wish they would release this formula in regular concealer shades, not just for dark circles. It seems like it would apply thinly and smoothly in areas that don't need heavy coverage, thanks to its hydrating formula. For those with fair skin, I recommend purchasing shade 0. - yw****Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinJan 16, 2025
The bright color makes it pleasant to use. It's quite moisturizing. The coverage isn't exceptional. Being in a pot form makes it inconvenient to maintain. - bk********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessRecommendedJan 6, 2025
I used to use Luna Pot Concealer and Correcting Concealer, but they would apply messily around my nose tip and under-eye area. The Salmon Concealer, however, has a cream texture that applies smoothly even when I use my fingers. It doesn't cake up, which I love. The staying power is average, but the coverage seems pretty decent. I'm satisfied overall. The only minor issue is that unlike the Luna Pot, this one doesn't have a cap. But that's just a small thing. - a0***********Normal SkinRecommendedJan 1, 2025
I bought it again because I heard they renewed the shade, as the original color I used was too dark There's nothing to complain about. I think the color renewal is really great - di****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityRednessRecommendedDec 14, 2024
For shades 13-15 with light undertones Faces flushed with redness These days, my biggest concern is the severe lack of collagen Leading to sunken under-eyes And dark circles! Today's special feature is all about dark circles! It might get a bit long-winded again, haha. The salmon dark circle concealer cream comes in 3 shades, So I was really torn about where to write my review... But I thought it would be best to write it for the shade with the least reviews, So I'll be reviewing shade 0! I also took some comparison photos to help you out I compared all 3 Skinfood salmon concealers with The Glow Rosy Salmon and Light shades Thankfully, the photos turned out quite well! # Shade 0 I recently bought shade 0 since it's newly released While it's not really effective for covering dark circles, It does help brighten the under-eye area For those with fair skin, shade 0 has a nice texture That can be easily blended with fingers It could even work as a foundation If the complexion matches your skin tone #Shade 1 Shade 1 seems to be the most effective for covering dark circles When I've had my makeup done professionally before, Or taken makeup classes, I've asked several experts about this.. Even for darker skin tones, makeup artists Say they use shade 1 the most often And find it more effective Personally, I felt shade 1 alone looked a bit dark, So I thought using something lighter would be better.. But since I tend to be easily swayed, After hearing their advice, I just use shade 1 now! #Shade 2 People with darker skin might think shade 2 covers better, but that's because it blends more naturally with their complexion According to the experts, It's best to cover under-eye darkness with shade 1 for a slightly brighter effect, then adjust any awkward skin tone differences with foundation or cushion on top - that's the standard makeup technique If you're buying for dark circles, get shade 1. For blemish coverage, try shade 2. # For reference, the Glow concealer in Rosy Salmon Is slightly lighter and less saturated than Skinfood's shade 1. At first, I felt Skinfood's shade 1 was too dark for my skin, so I really liked and used the Glow Rosy Salmon shade... But Rosy Salmon has less of a peachy tone, so... After applying foundation, when I only use Glow Rosy Salmon to cover dark circles, it feels like they're slightly less covered. —> The conclusion is, after covering dark circles Don't worry too much about the tone difference between your skin and the concealer shade.. After applying foundation on top 1) Check if the dark circles are well-covered 2) Judge the shade based on how well it covers after several hours / when darkening or creasing occurs —> At first, I kept looking for lighter shades because I was more focused on how awkward it looked with my skin tone rather than how well it covered dark circles.. But now I realize Skinfood's shade 1 is actually the most suitable color for covering my dark circles # Good concealer brushes for dark circle coverage: -Luna Conceal Blending Dual Brush, regular price 17,000 won (12,000 won on Coupang). It has a powder brush on the other end, great for blending and applying powder. Finish with a blurring powder (better than translucent powder) -Fillimilli s812, regular price 12,000 won -Hwahong M 156 Eye Area Concealer Brush, 9,000 won on Coupang <— These are my recommended picks The Tool Lab 231 Concealer Brush, 19,800 won —> This isn't really necessary, but if you prefer a wider brush, I'd recommend it Overall review of Skinfood Salmon Concealer: Pros 1) I think the color is its biggest advantage When it was first released, the orange shade that complements blue-toned dark circles was truly unique in the industry Even now, with so many brands releasing countless concealers, There aren't many with such a strong coral tone that feels entirely focused on dark circles It's definitely one of a kind 2) It has a soft, milky texture The under-eye area easily creases with thicker formulas, but if it's too thin, it won't provide coverage. This texture is easy to apply with fingers or a brush, which I find quite rare and valuable If you want a more adhesive formula, Dear A concealer is also an option 3) Good value for money, I'd say There are expensive, high-quality products out there. But there are also plenty of cheap, low-quality ones. At this price point and quality, it's worth investing in for daily makeup We're not makeup artists, after all We can be satisfied even if it doesn't cover perfectly It's better than nothing, right? We always hope for improvement But I'm not sure if that's due to my lack of skill Or the product's limitations Cons Unfortunately, I can't compare it to the previous version as it was discontinued when the pandemic ended, but rumor has it that only the packaging changed with the renewal.. It's been 4 years since I last used this product, so it's hard to recall exactly Don't try to apply it like foundation by spreading.. Just keep tapping it on gently It's good to approach concealer with the mindset that Perfect coverage is difficult.. "It looks a bit less noticeable.." "That's not bad.." This is better for your mental health We're not professionals, after all If you spent 1 minute covering, it will be covered as much as 1 minute's effort If you spent 10 minutes, it will be covered as much as 10 minutes' effort That seems to be the truth about concealers It's not about applying a lot, but rather applying a small amount Use a small brush instead of a puff, gently pat a small amount, wait a bit and pat again - the more care you put in, the better the coverage I have absolutely no complaints about this product I bought shade 0 from Ably for around 6,000 won with free shipping It was the cheapest color makeup product I've bought recently.. But it's also been the most satisfying.. I've been using it lately to cover blemishes # Good concealer brushes for dark circle coverage: -Luna Conceal Blending Dual Brush, regular price 17,000 won (12,000 won on Coupang). It melts easily with body heat, making it convenient to use, and it adheres well to the skin! The price is affordable, which is great. The generous amount is a plus, and I tried the new shade 00 - it matched my skin tone perfectly! When applied on bare skin, it makes dark circles disappear! Not just for under-eyes, it also covers darkness around the mouth well and doesn't pill when applying foundation! If your dark circles are very intense, it might not provide full coverage! Be careful not to apply too much, or it can clump with your skincare products! Works great on darker areas of the skin! Remember to use just the right amount!
