Think of this as a watery serum. It has a clear, transparent texture like runny nose mucus. When applied right after cleansing, it's packed with hydration! The scent is subtle, almost like it's unscented. It's gentle and lightweight, making it perfect as the first step in your skincare routine. I'm slathering it on generously without any worries. It's not just hydrating though - it also provides a decent amount of moisture, so it should work well even in winter. I've been using it as the first step in my morning and evening skincare routines, and I'm quite satisfied.
ConsIt's not really a drawback, but if I had to nitpick, I'd say it doesn't feel like it's 100% absorbed. It's more like 60% absorption with 40% drying on the skin. So using it alone would obviously be drying - you definitely need to follow up with a moisturizing product.
TipIf you apply it immediately after washing your face in the bathroom, it feels like you're properly recharging your skin's hydration before it evaporates. Then you can go to your vanity and continue with the rest of your skincare routine.

I have combination dehydrated skin that's prone to deep dryness and super sensitive - my skin breaks out easily if I use the wrong products. However, I've been able to use the Miba Lab essence without any blemishes. It's fragrance-free and comes in a lightweight plastic bottle. The consistency is slightly runny, similar to a hydrating essence - think of it as a watery serum. To really combat deep dryness, I found I needed to layer it 2-3 times. Applying just once didn't seem to do much for my dehydration, but I got the hang of it after using it for a while! Make sure to layer it sufficiently. In the evening, I even layer it three times, follow up with a moisturizer and mist, which helps address my deep dryness to some extent. This might be a good option for those with very oily skin looking for an affordable hydrating essence.
ConsThe inconvenience of having to layer it at least two or three times thoroughly is a downside. A single application doesn't address deep dryness. I suspect it might not be sufficient for those with dry skin. It could be a decent hydrating essence for diligent users who don't mind the extra effort.
TipLayering is absolutely essential!
