I'm not sure if it's effective for calming, but nothing bad has happened. The scent is a bit present... I'm the kind of person who doesn't mind scents, so it was fine for me. But it's not fragrance-free, and the scent is somewhat present, so if you're sensitive, it might be a bit uncomfortable. It has a scent somewhere between disinfectant and herbal. The texture is almost like water, but with a very slight gel-like feel. I like this texture the most... The first photo is from the first day of use, and the second and third are from the present.
