ConsAfter application, it feels quite sticky. It seems like you need to wait a while before using any other products.
TipI think it pairs well with Layer Lab's retinol products.

When I applied it as part of my evening skincare routine, it felt comfortable on my skin overnight. Good news for those sensitive to fragrances - it's completely odorless! This was another plus for me. I plan to continue using it for a while longer. This product really has me excited about its potential results!
ConsFor those with oily skin, it might feel too rich for frequent application throughout the day. I only applied it at night. If you're bothered by products that leave a residue or sticky feeling, you might want to skip this one, unfortunately!
TipFor those with extremely oily skin, I recommend applying this after using a niacinamide serum in your evening routine to balance out the rich texture!

I have oily skin that's prone to redness and a bit sensitive. 1. Suitable for morning and evening use Formulated with gentle ingredients, it causes no irritation or discomfort even for sensitive skin! 2. Free of harmful ingredients, packed with clean ingredients 3. Application The lightweight texture applies smoothly! Recommended for those who dislike heavy formulas! 4. High concentration of active ingredients One of the key ingredients, niacinamide, helps inhibit melanin production and fade pigmentation like dark spots! It also helps even out the skin tone with a notably high concentration of 7%.
Cons1. I used it for longer than 2 weeks! In the photo, the area covered by eyelashes is a mole! The purple circle is a dark spot, and I didn't see results as dramatic as advertised. However, issues like dark spots and freckles are difficult to eliminate quickly, so I think long-term use might show better results. Make lifestyle changes and use consistently! 2. Stickiness After applying the serum, it feels stickier than expected, which can be a bit bothersome. Use a small amount for easy makeup application and sufficient hydration - amount control is crucial! 3. Disappointing quantity for the price
TipUse sunscreen diligently to help block melanin, which causes dark spots and blemishes, and protect your skin from UV rays while using this product.

Layering anything on top might make it feel a bit heavy and tacky. Formula: It has a water-like consistency that flows easily. Skin type: I have combination-oily skin, and I wouldn't recommend this for those with oily skin. The finish isn't great for that skin type. Effectiveness: While it doesn't necessarily brighten the overall complexion, it seems to help a bit with blemish care! After two weeks of use, I noticed some improvement in my skin's appearance, which was quite nice.
ConsIt's very sticky and clings to the skin, which can be a bit challenging. It might be difficult for those with oily skin to use comfortably.

The dropper makes it convenient and easy to use. I also want to praise the product packaging. The dropper is well-designed, holding the solution effectively without dripping. It's so well-made that it could be my top pick for durability among all droppers I've used.
ConsAs this is a staple in my routine that I use consistently, I don't have any real complaints~ After application, it feels slightly sticky, and my skin feels tight and turns a bit red (there's no irritation though, just the redness without any pain~) I think the redness might be due to the melanin blemishes fading away~
TipI keep it refrigerated and use it cool~ It would probably be great to use when refrigerated during summer too!

Despite being prone to overheating regardless of the season, I don't prefer heavy products even with my dry skin. - I'm particularly interested in skincare that helps with deep dryness, as I tend to experience it. - I started using this product while my skin was sensitive and experiencing blemishes due to a mild recurrence of rosacea. - I added this serum to my routine before applying cream, which was previously my only step. - The texture is transparent and watery with no viscosity. It's nearly fragrance-free. <Pros> 🧶 It's not drying even with minimal use. Despite its watery consistency, which I thought might be drying on its own, I didn't feel any moisture loss or dryness after applying just one drop on each cheek and spreading it over my entire face. 🧶 It doesn't feel heavy on the skin after application. Unlike some low-viscosity serums that can cause pilling when used alone before makeup, this product didn't cause any makeup to pill or separate. 🧶 I was worried that the high concentration of niacinamide might irritate my sensitive, blemish-prone skin, but it actually calmed my skin and reduced blemishes. While the blemishes on my chest (where I didn't use the product) also improved - which might be a coincidence - I was very satisfied that this product didn't aggravate my facial blemishes, which would have worsened if it was irritating.
Cons<Cons> 🧶 While it doesn't feel sticky on the face, it leaves a slightly tacky feeling on the hands after application, necessitating hand washing. 🧶 During the 18-day use period, which could be considered short or long, I didn't notice any brightening effects or fading of dark spots. The product description claims various improvements in just two weeks, but I didn't personally experience these effects. It's possible I didn't notice, but I can't speak to its effectiveness in this regard. 🧶 I checked the price after being selected for the Hwahae Testers event, and it's 47,000 won. While I didn't find any significant drawbacks, I also didn't notice any major benefits. It seems like an average product, making the price of 47,000 won feel a bit steep.

I've been trying various brightening products lately, but I found that high-concentration water-soluble Vitamin C products tend to irritate my skin. That's when I came across Layer Lab's product, which contains a quadruple brightening complex of ascorbyl glucoside, ethyl ascorbyl ether, niacinamide, and tranexamic acid. I was excited to give it a try. 1. This transparent serum has a light consistency, making it easy to spread and absorb. I didn't expect much in terms of hydration, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's packed with glycerin and glycol-based moisturizing ingredients, plus ceramides, MCT oil, and panthenol. Despite its lightweight texture, it provides excellent hydration. However, the high glycerin content does leave a slightly sticky feeling. 2. Believing that consistency is key with brightening products, I used this serum morning and night (I love that all the ingredients are safe for daytime use!). It quickly became a go-to in my routine, likely because it acts as both a brightening and moisturizing product. My skincare routine consisted of toner, Layer Lab serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen. After using it for over a week, I noticed it didn't do much for old scars, but it visibly improved recent blemish marks. I've used high-concentration (15%) niacinamide products before, but they can be irritating and I usually only use them in summer for oil control. This serum has a more moderate 7% niacinamide, which is perfect. I've also tried a 5% tranexamic acid cream before, but didn't notice much effect when used alone. However, this serum's combination of ingredients seems to work synergistically, especially on new marks. Considering all the effective ingredients packed into this product, I think it offers great value for money.
ConsThe high glycerin content makes the texture slightly sticky, which might not appeal to everyone, though I don't mind it given the hydration benefits. Also, I wonder if increasing the tranexamic acid concentration from 3% to 5% might enhance its effectiveness.
TipConsistent and generous application is key to seeing results with this product.

To cut to the chase, I'm quite impressed with this product's effectiveness! I've been trying various brightening ampoules/serums lately, and this one's among the best. ➕ For a brightening serum, it's remarkably fragrance-free! The scent has always been my biggest complaint with brightening serums, but even those sensitive to fragrances can use this product without any issues. ➕ The texture is incredibly fluid, like water. At first, I accidentally pumped a whole dose on my cheek, and it ran down to my neck - quite a surprise! But as I used it more, I found it's better to dispense small amounts gradually, absorbing each bit. This method allows for both overall application and targeted use on specific areas. I also love the short dropper! ➕ I've used it for about a week, though not consecutively - 3 days, then a break, then 4 days. While my freckles haven't noticeably faded, I feel like my complexion becomes more even and clearer after just one use. Of course, seeing dramatic effects after a day or two might be wishful thinking, but I'm satisfied and feeling good about it!
Cons➖ There are just two downsides. First, while it flows like water when applied, leading me to expect a light finish, it actually feels quite sticky after absorption. Even with my dry-leaning skin that doesn't like heavy skincare, I prefer using just ampoules or serums. But this one is so sticky that it's better to follow up with a thin layer of cream. It's a bit... inconvenient. ➖ The second issue is the price. It's 47,000 won for 30ml at full price, and even on N-site's sales page, it's in the early 40,000 won range. If I hadn't already found a brightening serum I like, I might have settled on this one. But the truth is, my mom and I already have our holy grail serum, which is cheaper. So, I probably won't repurchase this.
Tip✨ For those who, like me, are a bit stressed about the sticky finish, try using a modeling mask after carefully applying the ampoule in your skincare routine. As the ampoule gets fully absorbed, you'll feel your skin temperature drop, resulting in an even clearer complexion. These days, I'm maintaining a clear complexion by using Layer Lab Clear Serum along with a modeling mask.

I felt reassured using it since it's free from allergens and harmful ingredients. When I received it, the unique and pretty packaging design seemed to brighten up my vanity. The essence has a thin consistency, and one full squeeze of the dropper was enough for a single application. It spread smoothly without any irritation. While I usually struggle with vitamin C whitening products due to sensitivity, the niacinamide and tranexamic acid in this worked well for me as gentle brightening ingredients. The tocopherol and vitamin E provided ample hydration for my dry skin. Throughout use, my makeup applied well over it and stayed put. The product kept my skin moisturized, so I used it consistently morning and night!
ConsI took before and after photos, but after two weeks of use, I didn't notice enough change to post them. It seems more time might be needed. There's a slight stickiness when patting it in, but as someone with dry skin, this wasn't a major issue for me.
TipI use it with my Dual Sonic device, applying the Layer Lab Essence on the device head, which works great.

Perhaps because of this, it absorbs quite well into the skin. Packaging and fragrance ➡️ The packaging is a rather classic, unremarkable design. However, I couldn't help but feel that the container looked a bit cheap...!! Maybe it's because it's an opaque white plastic bottle...!! As for the scent, no matter how much I sniffed, I couldn't detect any fragrance - it's completely unscented. User experience ➡️ At first, I thought it would be a light product since it dripped down like water, but although it absorbs quickly, I felt a slight residue on my skin. It's more sticky than bouncy, if that makes sense? There was a noticeable layer on the skin, which I didn't love as I prefer products that leave a fresh, matte finish unless it's a hydrating serum. Overall impression ➡️ From its name, this serum is meant to help with dark spots and blemishes, but I didn't notice much effect in this area, which was disappointing. However, I should note that I only used it for a short period for this review, so that should be taken into account. It didn't cause any blemishes or skin issues, so I'd say it's just an average serum.
ConsIt's frustrating that the container is opaque, making it impossible to gauge how much product is left...!! Also, as I mentioned earlier, I found it a bit disappointing that instead of providing a bouncy hydration from within, it left a sticky residue on the surface of the skin.
