I'm here to document ingredients that don't agree with my skin, so I don't repeat the same mistake. I ended up with folliculitis and tiny bumps.
Cons✔️ Causes blemishes The more I used this product, the more I felt hard folliculitis and tiny bumps appearing. You know those small bumps you can see in natural light when shadows fall on your face, and feel when you run your hands over your skin during skincare? Recently, my skin was in top condition using a routine of The Lab by blanc doux toner + Torimden serum + The Lab by blanc doux calming cream. My skin felt so smooth. But after testing this new product, suddenly I had tiny bumps and folliculitis around my mouth, forehead, and cheekbones. Thinking about why, I realized the symptoms were similar to when I used a niacinamide serum before. It seems niacinamide doesn't agree with me. I tend to get these bumps when my skin is dehydrated. Looking closer, niacinamide controls sebum, but I don't produce much oil and have combination dehydrated skin prone to dryness. This product seems to mattify so much it removes not just oil but moisture too. I didn't have issues with the pre-reformulation Torimden Cica Balancing Serum, but they increased the niacinamide content, hence my reasonable suspicion... As you can see in the photo below, my skin looks terrible. ✔️ Repurchase intention I love Torimden's hydrating serum, so for anti-inflammatory effects, I'd rather use tea tree oil on problem areas or COSRX Vitamin C23 Serum after my hydrating products for better results. This product claims to improve deep hydration, but I didn't really feel it. This was a complaint about the pre-reformulation version too - it seems to absorb quickly, but unlike the hydrating line, I don't feel moisture building from within. It seems to control oiliness after application, but this time it finishes too matte. This serum seems best suited for extremely oily, acne-prone skin. I have absolutely no intention to repurchase.
TipRecommended for extremely oily, acne-prone skin that responds well to niacinamide
