I couldn't really feel the astringent effect or any pore-tightening benefits. The most critical drawback is that it's discontinued domestically, so you have to buy it from overseas, which is a real pain.

I've been using this as a toner for nearly a decade. Whenever I switch to other products, I always regret it and come back to this one. It effectively removes any residue or dead skin cells that weren't cleaned off during face washing. As someone with oily skin, I feel it provides quite good hydration after use. Despite containing alcohol, it doesn't dry out or cause deep dryness, which I really appreciate.

It absorbs well even when I have to layer it on multiple times due to dryness.

I purposely bought the unscented one, but it had a bit of an odor, so I was like, 'What is this?' but it's tolerable enough, haha.

I was worried that the quality would be a bit lower since the price was so affordable, and that it would just flow off like water and dry out after applying it. But I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually quite moisturizing and satisfactory.

I bought an overseas product from Coupang.
I thought it would be gentler since it's the original, but I was greatly mistaken.

On the first day of using it, I felt it was a bit drying and a little itchy.
As I continued using it for a few days, my face kept getting itchy~
I thought maybe I ate something wrong, so I used it for a few more days, but I kept scratching it at work.
It was so itchy...
Later, it got red and started oozing...it was a complete disaster...

I couldn't stand it anymore, so I called the Korean Sayers headquarters and asked why this was happening, since the rose and lavender ones I used before never caused any issues. The staff member said that the products distributed domestically and those purchased overseas have slightly different ingredients.
Domestically, they remove the preservative ingredients because people dislike them, but the overseas direct purchase products come as is.

The witch hazel rose and lavender I used before were alcohol-free, but the direct purchase product had phenoxyethanol, and the 'astringent original' that caused the reaction also had <denatured alcohol> in it.
I don't recommend this product...be careful when using it.

- The skin feels extremely dry after using it, probably due to the alcohol content. If you think of it as a water-based toner and layer it on your skin, you may experience your face feeling tighter and tighter.
- In that aspect, it doesn't seem to function well as a toner.

2. The smell... is unpleasant.
- I thought I could tolerate the scent of toners that might have a polarizing smell, but this one is really unbearable. It's not like the smell of regular soju (Korean vodka), but more like a harmful factory chemical (?) or ethanol (?) smell.

To be honest, I'm not sure about the benefits of this toner.
These days, I'm using a cleansing toner due to the dry weather, and before pouring the toner onto the sink, I'm using this toner as a disinfectant for the sink.
However, since it can be used for other purposes like a 'honey tip', and I can use an appropriate amount without causing any trouble, I gave it about 3 stars.

If used frequently, the alcohol content and cotton pad irritation will likely increase sebum production. So using it about once a day as a morning cleansing substitute seems just right! (Since I do a double cleanse in the evening, I can skip the toner then)

I was worried it might have a strong soju-like smell, but the strange scent, which I think is from the witch hazel extract, is more prominent than the alcohol smell ㅋㅋ Well, it goes away soon after wiping, so it's not a big deal, but those sensitive to fragrances might be better off with a version with added scents...
Also, it seems to be quite hard to find offline. That could be a bit inconvenient.

I bought this to use when I couldn't wash my face. So I purposely chose one with the simplest and best alcohol ingredients, and it turned out to be much better than expected! Other alcohol-containing toners made my skin feel dry right after use, so I had to apply a moisturizer immediately. But this one actually made my skin more hydrated than before using it.
Personally, there were times when I couldn't wash my face for a week;ㅋㅋ My skin didn't develop any inflammation, but the sebum and dead skin cells were at their peak ㅜㅜ On the 7th day, I soaked a cotton pad with this toner and gently wiped my face several times with minimal effort...! My skin went back to how it was a week ago ㅋㅋㅋ No, it even looked better ㅋㅋㅋ It was the height of summer when I used this, and my skin was so hydrated after using it that I didn't need any additional moisturizer.
I highly recommend this alcohol toner to those looking for a toner that stays true to its core function!

To be honest, I'm leaving this review to point out some issues. I have very sensitive skin and occasionally get pimples. I've been using the Serious Medicated Astringent, but I also bought this Original product once. While the Medicated one didn't cause any problems, when I used this one, it made my skin itchy and red. So I compared the ingredients of the two products, and they were almost the same, except for one difference - the Original had an added fragrance. I suspect this fragrance is the culprit, as every time I used the Original, my skin reacted with redness and irritation. Of course, most people may be fine with it, but for those with atopic or highly sensitive skin, it's something to be cautious about. Highly sensitive individuals may want to avoid alcohol-containing products altogether, but they can still use them for disinfecting and astringent purposes, just with caution. Those who are sensitive to fragrances should be especially careful. Interestingly, the strongly scented Medicated one has never caused any issues for me.
