I bought this quite a while ago when there weren't many products like this on the market. I wanted something that could work as both a lip and cheek product. The packaging is so pretty that it always brightened my mood when I pulled it out of my makeup bag. I loved the concept of being able to use it on both lips and cheeks. The rose scent was fresh and delicious. The feel on the skin (irritation, dryness) - It's very sticky and heavy, but when applied it feels heavy, doesn't absorb well, and makes my skin feel tight, dry, and painful. Even with this sticky balm on, my lips still cracked. Packaging - It's inconvenient and unhygienic to have to use your fingers or a tool to apply it. Moreover, the formula isn't smooth like other balm-type products, it's very sticky and difficult to wipe off. It won't even wash off unless you use an oil-based cleanser or makeup remover. Concept - While this was a unique concept when it was released, now it's common even among drugstore brands. Even in the high-end market, Dior's Lip Glow has the same concept but feels much better on the skin, is less sticky, and more hygienic to use. It was so sticky and painful to apply that even though I bought it at a somewhat high price at the time, I remember throwing it away before finishing it. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedMay 21, 2021
Anna Sui has such a lovely fragrance... It's a shame that the scent comes from ingredients that aren't great for your body. While it's a bit inconvenient to apply with your fingers, I love how it leaves a natural tint on your skin after application. - s0****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedMar 5, 2021
I received this product as a gift, and the beautiful packaging instantly lifts your spirits. The transparent formula gradually transforms into a rosy tint as you apply it. Layer it on for a vibrant red lip look. It keeps your lips hydrated and moisturized. The signature Anna Sui rose fragrance lingers delightfully. I wish it came in a stick form for easier application. That's a bit disappointing. You need to use a dedicated lip makeup remover for thorough cleansing. The color adheres so well to my lips that I'm not sure if it's being properly removed during cleansing. - re*****Dry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 25, 2020
This product is almost magical in how naturally and smoothly it applies. It's perfect for layering over sunscreen two or three times for a natural look. When applying red lipstick, using this to define the lip line first results in a much cleaner finish. Applying with fingers can be unhygienic, so either use a lip brush or wash your hands each time. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedMay 13, 2020
The packaging is gorgeous. It feels so moisturizing on the lips! And just a light application gives you a natural-looking tint. Be careful with how much you apply! If you layer it on thick, it starts off looking natural, but over time it turns into this slightly tacky, azalea-like pink shade. Watch out for the amount you use! - Hwahae UserNormal SkinRecommendedApr 30, 2020
The color is beautifully subtle yet youthful. It complements both bare skin and made-up faces perfectly. It has a nice shimmer, feels moisturizing, and has a pleasant scent. I'd definitely repurchase when I run out. I apply it with a brush instead of my fingers, as I'm concerned about hygiene. I received this as a gift, and I noticed it's on the pricier side. However, I don't have any particular complaints about the product itself. - ju*****Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedApr 28, 2020
Almost finished using it up! This is the lightest-applying lip balm I've ever used, with excellent hydration. It has great staying power, and when used with a tint, it completely prevents any dead skin cells from showing. Personally, I love the packaging (black case) and find it very convenient to carry around. You have to apply it with your fingers. It leaves a pink tint when applied (personal opinion). The ingredients are a bit disappointing... it was my holy grail, but the formulation... Since you need to apply this lip balm with your fingers, I always carried tissues with me. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedApr 22, 2020
It goes on clear but develops into a subtle rosy tint when applied. The texture is smooth and it absorbs well. It's hydrating without feeling sticky. I must admit, I bought it partly because the packaging is so pretty! It can be a bit inconvenient as you need to apply it with your fingers or a brush. This is really useful for a natural, no-makeup makeup look. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 16, 2020
This transparent lip balm transforms into a lovely pink shade when applied, perfect for creating lively, vibrant lips! The rose fragrance was delightful, lifting my mood every time I used it. The lightweight feel made it comfortable to wear and carry around. Being an Anna Sui product, the price was a bit steep for the amount you get. I'm not entirely convinced about its hydration effectiveness either. Also, since it's applied with fingers, no matter how clean your hands are, dust tends to stick to the product. These aspects were somewhat disappointing. - lc*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 31, 2020
The ancestor of transparent tints that give a rosy glow when applied! This was one of my favorite products alongside Benetint when I was a student. It's slightly sticky and not exceptionally moisturizing, but I recently repurchased it after reminiscing and I'm using it well. I wasn't particularly fond of Anna Sui's rose scent before, but now it feels subtle and pleasant, perhaps due to nostalgic memories. It doesn't look awkward when applied to bare skin. Rather than making you look flushed, it just adds a healthy complexion. The pot packaging isn't the most hygienic. The price also seems a bit high for the amount you get. I think it works better on its own rather than layered with other products. I usually apply tint and then use lip balm or lip oil, but when I use this pot rouge as a lip balm over tint, it sometimes causes the color to peel off from the inner part of the lips, leaving red spots. This might vary depending on lip condition, but I suspect it's due to dead skin cells falling off when different colors meet. For tinted balms, it seems better to apply them freely with a quick swipe for a more comfortable experience.
