If you're more concerned about odor than sweat, I'd recommend this product. It's not designed to control sweat production, but rather to naturally suppress body odor. As someone who can't stand the overpowering, powdery, or soap-like scents of many deodorants - they make me feel like I'm suffocating - and who gets unbearably itchy from antiperspirants, I decided to try this Aesop roll-on after hearing about its herbal, natural fragrance. The scent is truly herbal and effectively masks body odor, which I love. On particularly hot days, I even apply it to the back of my neck, an area prone to noticeable body odor. I also really appreciate that it doesn't have any antiperspirant properties, so it doesn't cause any irritation. The downsides are that it takes a while to dry and doesn't last all day. If you want it to last until the afternoon, you'll need to reapply or put on a lot in the morning, which can be a hassle to dry. However, I plan to keep using it unless I find something better. I haven't tried the spray version yet, but I'm curious about it. Longevity is key, so if possible, I buy an extra one to keep at work. At lunchtime, I wipe my underarms with an alcohol pad, reapply the deodorant, fan it a bit to dry, and then put my clothes back on. Simple and effective! - ha*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinInner DrynessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJul 4, 2025
The fragrance is absolutely delightful! I've tried both the spray and roll-on versions, but I found the roll-on to be more convenient. It's great because you can apply it directly to the areas you want. Everything else was fine, but compared to the spray, it absorbs a bit slower. And the price... it's a bit steep. While both formulations have their merits, the roll-on offers more precise application, which is perfect for targeted use. However, the slower absorption rate might be a drawback for those who prefer quick-drying products. The higher price point could be a consideration for budget-conscious consumers, but it's worth weighing against the product's overall quality and effectiveness. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedSep 18, 2023
The scent is lovely and it brings out all the feels in my armpits, haha! The price... seriously? And since it's a deodorant, it doesn't actually prevent sweating. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 5, 2022
Unlike spray types that stung a bit, this one doesn't cause any tingling sensation at all. Although I don't really need it these days, I still apply it after showering just because I love the scent. It doesn't seem to have much of a sweat-controlling effect. I'm mainly using it for the fragrance. - sh*********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedJul 15, 2022
I received this Aesop deodorant roll-on as a gift! The signature Aesop packaging makes it such a perfect present. When I tried it, I found it glides on smoothly without any irritation, and it has that distinctive natural Aesop fragrance! The lasting power is quite impressive, which I'm really happy about. While it's on the pricier side for a deodorant, I'm actually planning to gift it to someone else too! If you're not familiar with Aesop's scents, I'd recommend trying a tester before purchasing! - ac******Dry SkinJul 16, 2021
I don't usually feel the need for deodorant, but I bought this Aesop one purely for its fragrance, which is truly delightful. When it comes to woody scents, Aesop really takes the crown. Sadly, that's the only positive thing I can say about it. As you can see in other reviews: 1. Absorption It's incredibly slow. The liquid stays on the skin for a long time, so you need to dry it well before going out. Even then, once you start sweating, it seems to revert to liquid form. I really dislike that slippery feeling. And this might be unique to me, but: 2. Ingredients + Allergic Reaction The first few times I applied it, it was bearable. The scent I love wafted around like I was wearing perfume, and despite the poor absorption, it was usable. However, after a while, the area where I applied it became itchy and my skin turned red and irritated. To make sure it wasn't just a coincidence (hoping it wasn't the cause), I applied it to the inside of my elbow before going out, but the next day, the same reaction appeared, confirming my suspicions. When I checked on Hwahae, sure enough, there were many allergy-triggering ingredients. I'm not sure exactly which ingredient I'm allergic to, but there are more harmful ingredients than I initially thought. If you have sensitive skin or allergies, please check the ingredients carefully before buying. I don't think I'll be able to use this anymore. 3. Sweat Prevention It's practically non-existent. If you're looking for a powdery finish, you'd be better off with a different product. To top it off, the price isn't friendly either, which makes it even more disappointing. Since it's a roll-on, I'm hesitant to give it to someone else. I wish I had bought a spray-on version instead, at least then I could use it on clothes. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJun 19, 2021
There's definitely a noticeable difference compared to not using it, but since it's not a medical product like Driclor, it doesn't completely stop sweating. However, it's certainly not sticky at all. I really love the subtle, herbal scent that only I can smell. The downside is that because it's a cream, it feels a bit slippery, so you need to let it dry. And then there's the price! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 21, 2020
First off, I love that the scent isn't overpowering, and it absorbs nicely! The main drawback is the somewhat high price point, and it doesn't seem to have any sweat-controlling effects. I've been using it regularly as I think it makes a great summer gift. - gi*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJun 18, 2020
Absolutely fantastic! This might just be the best deodorant out there. No blemishes whatsoever. The scent is lovely too. There are no downsides. It's perfect! - wn******Normal SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 20, 2020
The fragrance is absolutely perfect for me! I'm head over heels for it! If you're a fan of woody scents, you'll absolutely adore this. You really need to dry it well, otherwise it feels like it's just sitting on the skin. It seems to be lacking in its primary function as a deodorant. The body odor and the deodorant scent don't blend well, they just coexist separately.
