This cleanser effectively removes sunscreen and other products without irritation. It really drives home the point that when it comes to gentle, non-irritating formulas, nothing beats Avène. However, perhaps because it's so gentle, if you don't use the right amount, you might find yourself in a situation where it doesn't even remove sunscreen properly. That happens quite often. Also, I noticed a strong artificial scent, even more pronounced than the powder fragrance in Lotion Douce. It felt somewhat out of character for Avène, giving an oddly discordant impression. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJul 10, 2017
I love how gentle it feels and that I can rinse it off easily with water. It's not quite enough on its own, so you'll need to follow up with a second cleanse. Rinsing with water is less irritating and more convenient, which is great. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinJan 31, 2017
I chuckled when I saw the ingredients list... I've been struggling with blemishes, so I thought using a well-known product would be better. But boy, was I wrong... It turns out it was not only irritating my skin but also wreaking havoc on my insides! As you rub it in, it starts to feel dry even though you feel like you haven't finished applying it. I wish I had naturally resilient skin that doesn't react to everything I put on it. Even after squeezing out three pumps, it feels dry as you rub it in. Best to use this with light makeup. - sm*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityDec 18, 2016
My skin didn't feel dry after cleansing. That was the only positive aspect I noticed. I bought this because my dermatologist recommended cleansing emulsions or gels for my acne-prone skin. Initially, my face turned red, so I stopped using it for a while. I've recently started using it again, and while the redness is gone, I'm worried about potential blemishes. The ingredients list isn't great either. The cleansing effectiveness is average, and it feels irritating around the eyes. Wiping off residue with a tissue or cotton pad can be drying and irritating. I find it's better to use a damp cleansing sponge, which removes the oily feeling effectively. If the emulsion's richness remains, it can interfere with lathering during the second cleanse and leave you feeling like you haven't cleaned thoroughly. - la*****Oily SkinSensitive SkinDec 17, 2016
I liked that the texture was nice and the scent wasn't overpowering. The pump dispenser made it convenient to use. Looking at the ingredients, I noticed there are many potentially irritating components, which makes me think it's not suitable for daily use. - go**********Combination SkinSensitive SkinDec 2, 2016
Wow, I thought Avène was gentle, but these ingredients... I feel betrayed. It's on the pricier side too, and I've used dozens of bottles thinking it was good. Now I'm at a loss for what to do with the four I've stockpiled at home. It's shocking to see Avène contains so many ingredients that aren't good for the skin. I'm really disappointed to discover this about a brand I trusted for my sensitive skin. It's a wake-up call to always check the ingredient list, even for products from reputable skincare companies. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinOct 25, 2016
I've been using this for two bottles now, but I was shocked when I saw the ingredients on Hwahae... I trusted Avène, but now I think I'll switch to Nuxe. Personally, I didn't feel any irritation and liked it, but now that I know the ingredients, I'm hesitant to keep using it. - dk*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinSep 27, 2016
I thought other Avène products were quite good, but this one... After checking the ingredients on Hwahae, it all makes sense now. After switching to this product, I developed an allergic reaction around my eyes and suffered for over a month. At first, I didn't realize it was because of this cosmetic and kept using it while visiting the doctor. When it didn't improve, I found it strange, so I stopped using it, and the problem cleared up completely. I used to love all Avène products, but this was such a disappointment! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSep 23, 2016
I've been using this for a year now. It seems to suit my skin well. It's so gentle! My skin feels a bit drier than before. That's the only downside I've noticed. I apply a generous amount of cream after cleansing. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinAug 24, 2016
It removes most makeup effectively, except for mascara. As someone with sensitive, oily skin, my existing blemishes persisted. It doesn't seem particularly beneficial for acne-prone skin. A double cleanse is definitely necessary. I suspect an ingredient like Loxitane might not agree with my skin.
