Since both my son and I have permed hair, we bought this and have been using it. We apply it after washing our hair and towel-drying, then use a hairdryer. It doesn't make the hair sticky, but it does leave a slightly oily feeling, and when it dries, the hair gets a bit fluffy, so I'm in the habit of applying curl cream right after. The scent might be a love-it-or-hate-it thing! Oh no, there are so many harmful ingredients... Recently my son's hands have become rough, and I wonder if it's because of this hair product. Considering the price and the ingredients, it's a bit difficult to repurchase... - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedOct 30, 2021
I always use hair essence because my hair gets tangled after washing and becomes impossible to brush. I've tried many famous products like Silk Therapy, but nothing compares to this hair essence. It's a must-have that I pack whole for my travels. I was shocked to find that the ingredients weren't as good as I expected. Also, when I wash my hair at night, it gets greasy by the next day. So I wash my hair in the morning and only shower from the neck down at night, but I've noticed my pillowcase seems to be turning yellow. I wonder if others have experienced this too. - yu******Dry SkinDark CirclesWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresOct 4, 2021
After washing my hair and using this product on damp hair before blow-drying, my hair definitely feels calmer and softer. The texture has some viscosity but flows slowly, so it didn't feel too heavy for me. The scent isn't overpowering, just pleasantly mild. I was intrigued by the ad and the seemingly impressive ingredient list, so I bought and used it. Being interested in ingredients, I learned about cosmetic ingredient regulations and decided to check the full ingredient list. I was taken aback. Cyclopentasiloxane, a silicone-based oil, is the most abundant ingredient. If Moringa seed oil is at 10,000 PPM, that's only 1%. This leads me to assume that the other natural oils and supposedly beneficial ingredients advertised are each present at less than 1%. Essentially, I've been coating my hair with loads of silicone-based oil for coverage. While cyclic compounds are widely used in cosmetics and aren't necessarily harmful, it's frustrating how difficult it is to find good products without silicone-based oils. - du******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJan 20, 2021
It has a slight tackiness, which helps define waves when applied to curly hair. Once your hair dries and the essence is absorbed, it feels incredibly soft when brushed. Without it, my hair feels dry and frizzy, but with it, it's smooth and silky. The lingering scent is lovely - when I undo my hair, there's a subtle fragrance. I've been using it for years, and the consistent scent has earned me countless compliments. I think it's because I use the matching shampoo and treatment, so the fragrances blend perfectly. I can't think of any downsides. I later found out it contains many potential allergens...? But I've never experienced an allergic reaction while using it. - qh********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJan 16, 2021
When my hair was severely damaged and rough from bleaching, using Baron hair essence and treatment was a huge help in creating a glossy, smooth texture that didn't even look like bleached hair. The difference in how my hair felt - calmer and softer - when I used it versus when I didn't was quite noticeable, so I used it religiously every day. I even had a friend who asked what product I was using after seeing the change in my hair texture and ended up buying this essence too! Wow, I just realized this product has the highest number of potentially harmful ingredients (classified as yellow/red on Hwahae) among all the cosmetics I use! I was shocked when I searched for this product on Hwahae for the first time today. As someone who prefers to use products with mostly 'blue' ingredients, and since I've now cut off all my bleached hair and don't need this product for soft hair anymore... I plan to either stop using hair essences altogether or look for alternatives from other brands with better ingredients. Well, that's all for now... hopping off! After towel-drying your hair, apply one or two pumps of the essence, focusing on the ends. Then blow-dry and brush your hair. When my hair was heavily damaged from bleaching, I would apply a bit more to the ends even after drying, which kept my hair soft all day long. Oh, and if you use it together with the brand's treatment, it gives your hair a nice weight that settles down beautifully. If you have straight hair, it can make it look even more calm and healthy! - ta********Normal SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJan 5, 2021
Every time my friends come over, they ask about this product and say it's great! Without fail, the next day they're like 'Hey, which hair essence do you use?' It applies smoothly without making my hair super greasy. Plus, it leaves my hair feeling silky soft. It's a bit pricey, but they often have sales, so it's not too bad. The scent is really just okay. For hair care, just apply it once before drying your hair and once after. That's all you need! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 27, 2020
- Scent: Everyone I've asked agrees it's a lovely fragrance! It's not overpowering, but rather a subtle, aromatic scent... In any case, it smells wonderful! - Texture: The consistency is just right - neither too runny nor too thick, making it easy to apply. I'm writing this review after finishing two bottles of the treatment and essence, and I've already ordered another! It works so well for me that I can't find any downsides! If anything, I wish I could stock up on more... - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 23, 2020
This is my first time trying a hair essence, and I love it! The fragrance is delightful too. There aren't any! I can only think of positives. It's definitely worth giving it a try. - js*****Oily SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedNov 23, 2020
I've been repurchasing this hair essence for several years now! It's on the heavier side, so it seems perfect for frequently bleached or dry, damaged hair. For those with healthy hair or short styles, using too much might make your hair greasy. It's best to use just one pump or even less. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinNov 10, 2020
I haven't used it yet... I bought it because the ingredients listed on Hwahae looked good, but it turns out they only included the beneficial ingredients up to a certain point. Unfortunately, after the fragrance, there's a whole list of not-so-great ingredients that weren't mentioned on Hwahae. I've said everything above, so there's nothing left to write here. They're asking me to fill 20 characters though... Look before you leap! Always double-check the ingredients list on the actual product.
