Relatively affordable in Canada, around $7 (on sale). It's gentle on the scalp - no tingling or dryness. I have seborrheic dermatitis, but since using this, my scalp never feels heavy or uncomfortable. It really doesn't lather well. It has a watery consistency, so I end up using a lot of product when shampooing. - jh*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinMar 4, 2018
This is the shampoo I used daily during my study abroad in the US. Why did I start using it? Well, at the time, I was dealing with mysterious blemishes popping up every day. I was really worried and scared, so I desperately searched on Hwahae for a shampoo with the least harmful ingredients that was easily available in the US. This one fit the bill. Surprisingly, when I started using it, my blemishes began to decrease. That's when I realized how crucial a good shampoo can be. It has great ingredients, a pleasant scent, and doesn't irritate the skin. It's truly an excellent shampoo! The downside is that it doesn't lather well, which is a bit disappointing. Also, after washing, it doesn't feel completely refreshing, and your hair might look like it hasn't been washed. But when it comes down to choosing between hair texture and skin health, I prioritize my skin. So, it's still a good shampoo in my book. Here's a personal tip: use a generous amount when washing your hair! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAug 23, 2016
For a natural product, it lathers surprisingly well, giving you that satisfying clean feeling. Even though I rinse thoroughly, my scalp starts to feel itchy after just half a day. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMay 14, 2016
I've been using this for over a year now, and I love it! My routine is to shampoo once, rinse, then shampoo again and leave it on for 1-2 minutes before washing it off. It doesn't cause any blemishes and keeps my hair from getting oily quickly. I remember seeing on a TV show - I think it was 'Stocking' - that leaving shampoo on for about 3 minutes before rinsing helps cleanse the scalp thoroughly. That's why I've been doing it this way. It works great for me, but I'm not sure how it might work for others. The price is quite steep if you're buying it in Korea. That's why I prefer to purchase it directly from overseas. Also, it doesn't lather up very well, so I have to shampoo twice each time. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinApr 12, 2016
It definitely feels gentler than conventional shampoos. I'd recommend this to anyone concerned about hair loss. It doesn't lather well, and even after washing, it doesn't give that refreshing clean feeling. My hair also seems to get dirty quickly. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMar 4, 2016
Gentle ingredients and a subtle fragrance. I used to have greasy hair just a day after washing, but with thorough cleansing, this shampoo's effectiveness is great. Now I can wash my hair every other day without issues. After washing, my hair feels silky smooth - I thought it contained silicone, but it's actually silicone-free! Being a natural shampoo, it doesn't lather much. Also, compared to other hair brands in Korea, it's on the pricier side. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinFeb 15, 2016
Though my review is brief, I must say the fragrance is absolutely delightful and the overall experience of using it was fantastic. I'd love to repurchase it! It's just a bit disappointing that it's quite pricey in Korea. - ay****Combination SkinAcne SkinFeb 10, 2016
The fragrance is lovely and the transparent formula looks beautiful! The best part is enjoying the pleasant scent while showering. The flip-top lid is quite inconvenient to use. Due to the nature of natural shampoos, the cleansing effectiveness isn't great, so using this alone can lead to an itchy scalp. The fragrance ingredients that inevitably come with the nice scent... I'd prefer it without any scent if they're going to add artificial fragrances. Since this alone doesn't provide enough cleansing power, I use it for a second wash after a regular shampoo or mix it with another shampoo. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinFeb 8, 2016
My oily, itchy, acne-prone scalp has almost completely cleared up. My hair, which I used to wash every other day, now stays fresh for up to 3 days. This natural product gives me peace of mind. I've tried all three shampoo types, but this mango one has the best scent. It's more beneficial for the scalp than for the hair itself. You can feel your scalp getting healthier. Unlike most shampoos that strip away all oils, this one leaves just enough to prevent your scalp from overproducing sebum. Once you get past the adjustment period, it's an instant holy grail. One time, after finishing this shampoo, I used a regular one I had lying around. I was shocked - it felt like I had bleached my hair. It was so squeaky clean that my fingers couldn't even run through my hair. Totally mind-blowing! 1. Being a natural product, it doesn't lather well and even when you work up a foam, it quickly dissipates. 2. As a result, you end up using twice as much as you would with other shampoos, so you go through a bottle quickly. 3. During the adjustment period for natural shampoos, your hair might feel greasy. Even right after showering, it can feel a bit off (this goes away after the adjustment period, don't worry, no problem). 4. When traveling, it's best to transfer it to a separate container for peace of mind. The original bottle feels like it might leak. 5. The hair shine benefit mentioned on the package? Not sure about that. It doesn't seem to have much effect. If it's your first time using a natural shampoo, the adjustment period can last from a minimum of one to two months up to a year. This period varies for each individual. The reason for this adjustment period is that the scalp, like the face, needs a certain amount of oil. When shampoo removes 100% of it, the scalp overproduces oil to recreate the lost protective barrier. Then we use strong cleansing shampoos to remove this greasiness, creating a vicious cycle. Breaking this cycle doesn't immediately reduce oil production - it decreases gradually, which is why it takes time. Until you're fully adjusted, I recommend not using conditioner. If you do, your scalp will feel slippery and uncomfortable. It might feel like you've only wet your hair, not washed it, even right after showering. Don't give up if your hair stays greasy - keep using it. One day, you'll wake up to fresh, clean-feeling hair, and that's when you know you've adjusted. It won't feel squeaky clean, but completely refreshed and cool. If you're expecting a mango scent, think again. It smells more like sweet fruit candy. *Additional review) After using Burt's Bees shampoo exclusively for 1-2 years, I tried another brand (ts shampoo) for about a month. My scalp reverted to its oily state within a day, so I came back to Burt's Bees. During the transition, I even developed some scalp acne, which fortunately disappeared quickly. After returning, my scalp became fresh and manageable within 1-2 weeks. I'm sticking with this one and not using any other shampoos. Addition #2) Use a tiny amount for the first wash, rinse, then use an appropriate amount with a silicone scalp brush from Daiso for a scalp massage. This creates lots of foam and leaves your scalp squeaky clean. It helps shorten the adjustment period and extends the fresh feeling. - fg***Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinFeb 6, 2016
The high-quality ingredients make you feel like your hair is getting healthier with every wash. It leaves a refreshing sensation. If I had to pick one downside, it's that it doesn't lather well. Every time I use it, I remind myself to buy a foam net. It took me a year to get used to natural shampoo. I had to endure a greasy scalp even after washing and drying my hair completely. I spent a year carefully transitioning my scalp and hair, which were accustomed to synthetic products, to natural shampoo. For those who find it doesn't suit them right away, it's better to adjust gradually rather than trying to switch all at once, or you'll likely fail. Oh, and I bought this while vacationing in Hawaii where Burt's Bees products are really cheap. It only cost about $7 there.
