As a 30-year-old man with sensitive, dry skin, I've struggled to find the right toner since high school. I've tried various affordable and high-end products, but it always felt like I was living with blemishes. I've used well-known brands like La Roche-Posay, Avène, and Clinique, which are famous for being gentle, but I still experienced small bumps, redness, and dryness as if it were normal. The Burt's Bees Rosewater Toner I've been using for the past year is my holy grail. Usually, when I switch skincare products, my skin needs about a week to adjust, often with some minor breakouts. But with this one, there was no adjustment period needed. My girlfriend and friends have noticed a significant improvement in my complexion. I'm truly satisfied with the results. The absorption isn't the best. I find myself using about twice as much compared to other toners. However, since it's an affordable product, it doesn't put a strain on my wallet. - Hwahae UserDry SkinEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsAug 24, 2020
I snagged this at a great price in the US! It's a solid exfoliating toner that I'm using without any issues. The rose scent is quite strong and lovely! Unfortunately, there's also a noticeable alcohol smell. Another downside is that the bottle doesn't have any way to control the amount dispensed, so the toner tends to gush out in large amounts. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMar 18, 2020
The subtle fragrance is pleasant, though some might consider even this a drawback... Despite having slightly sensitive, oily, and combination skin, the alcohol content was so strong that it made my skin even rougher and extremely dry. Even after applying other moisturizing products, it kept getting worse, so I stopped using it after a week. It caused eye irritation, and the alcohol smell was so strong I had to hold my breath. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinFeb 27, 2020
I loved that it's a spray formula, so I could apply just the right amount without getting my hands messy. The bottle size is also quite generous. The alcohol scent was overwhelmingly strong. While I'm not sure about blemishes, it felt like something I shouldn't apply to any cuts or scrapes. It even stung a little bit when I used it. - ke*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 24, 2019
I received this toner as a gift from a friend and have used about half of it so far. Having previously used Mamonde's rose toner without any issues, I thought this product would be similarly suitable. When I applied it to my sensitive skin, I didn't experience any blemishes or redness. It feels just like wiping your face with pure rose water on a cotton pad. However, I didn't notice any special functions or intense hydration after use. If I don't apply serum immediately after, my skin feels tight, so I need to quickly layer on other products! While I didn't see any extraordinary effects, I think this could work well as an exfoliating toner for those with oily skin types. The biggest disappointment is the scent. The alcohol smell is overwhelmingly strong, overpowering the rose fragrance. Among exfoliating toners, it feels like I'm applying vodka or soju to my face! I have to hold my breath while applying it. Because of this, it gives a burning sensation on the face after use, which can feel quite tingling on days when my skin is particularly sensitive. The second drawback is that the bottle opening is too wide, making it difficult to control the amount dispensed. I manage by pressing a cotton pad to the opening, but if you're pouring it directly into your hand, be careful - it might come gushing out like a waterfall! Hmm... I think it would be great to keep this in the refrigerator during summer and use it as a toner mask by soaking cotton pads generously. Given its ample volume, you could stack cotton pads in a clean, airtight container, pour the toner over them, and store in the fridge for a soothing skin pack. Although summer hasn't arrived yet, I plan to try this method when it gets warmer! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 9, 2019
As someone with extremely dry and sensitive skin prone to blemishes, I'm thrilled that this product didn't cause any breakouts. It's truly non-irritating, and I love the subtle rose fragrance. From my perspective, the alcohol scent isn't overwhelming, which is a plus. While it's great that it doesn't cause blemishes and isn't irritating, that's about all it offers. I don't feel it provides any exceptional benefits as a toner. Also, like many others have mentioned, there's an issue with the packaging. I'm halfway through the bottle now, but once it's finished, I plan to switch to a different product. Pro tip: Only peel back a small portion of the foil seal at the opening, or use a cotton pad for application! - ha*******Dry SkinMar 1, 2019
The fragrance is delightful. Personally, I love the combination of alcohol and rose scents, so the aroma is absolutely fantastic. It has a refreshing rose fragrance. This toner is absolute rubbish! It feels like I'm cleansing my face with 100% alcohol. Burt's Bees should be ashamed of themselves. Every area where I applied it immediately swelled up and stung as if I had been burned (it was worst on first use). The day after using it, the skin peeled off only in the areas where I had applied it, and it hurt every time I washed my face. I'm now using it as an earring disinfectant. Even if they sold it for $1, I would never buy it again. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinFeb 21, 2019
I received this as a gift and tried it out. It was just okay, nothing special. Didn't really have any standout pros or cons. The alcohol smell was incredibly overwhelming. It was so strong that I had to hold my breath every time I applied it. - pu*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinNov 28, 2018
My skin type is combination dehydrated skin with an oily T-zone and dry cheeks. I'm prone to blemishes and need year-round hydration. I also have super sensitive skin with frequent allergic reactions, so I'm careful about what I eat and put on my skin. I bought this rose water toner on a whim at the supermarket. After reading the ingredients, I almost returned it, but decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, despite some questionable ingredients, it didn't cause any noticeable blemishes and was generally okay to use. I think this toner might work better for those with oily skin who've used Clinique toners before, rather than those with combination dehydrated skin like mine. Even in summer, I found it a bit harsh to use daily due to its high alcohol content, which seemed to strip away my skin's natural moisture. As mentioned earlier, the strong alcohol scent when opening the bottle was a big no-no for me. While it might suit those with acne-prone or very oily skin, I fear it could cause deep dryness and fine lines for those with normal, super sensitive, or dry skin. I was also disappointed by the number of potentially irritating ingredients in this product from a reputable brand. For a rose water toner, it contained surprisingly little actual rose water compared to some Korean brands. It felt more like I was applying alcohol water than a soothing toner. Determined to use up the toner I'd bought, I found it less drying when followed by a more hydrating, low-pH toner, or when mixed with rose oil. I wouldn't recommend this for those with sensitive, dry skin. It's probably best to avoid it altogether. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMay 9, 2018
I bought it simply because it's affordable and from a brand known for organic cosmetics, but I probably won't purchase it again. My skin type fluctuates between normal-to-dry and combination, depending on the weather. This toner is far too drying - it's definitely for oily skin. If you have oily skin, go for it. As you can see, it's just a regular water-type toner. When I lay down, the liquid immediately runs, showing it has no viscosity at all. It seems designed purely for removing excess oil. Also, the wide-open bottle mouth makes it difficult to control the amount. I'm not sure if this is typical for products bought in the US, but it's not ideal. This is absolutely for oily skin types, everyone!
