Why I tried it: I saw a video of Jiyomi's Cleardear skincare routine on Instagram. The oil-free skincare concept piqued my interest, so I decided to give it a try. Texture: It has a gel-like consistency, reminiscent of aloe vera gel. While it feels very hydrating initially, the moisturizing effect doesn't last long, and I don't get the sense that it's deeply hydrating my skin. I expected it to absorb quickly, but it actually takes some time to sink in. The finish, however, is not sticky at all and feels refreshingly light. Effects: Although it claims to control sebum, I didn't notice any improvement in oil control. I was also disappointed that it didn't seem to soothe my blemishes or prevent new breakouts as I had hoped. It's not particularly effective as a makeup base either, which is a letdown. On the bright side, it's gentle enough that those with super sensitive skin might be able to use it without irritation. First off, the price is quite steep. Even with a discount at Olive Young, it's around 20,000 won for just 30ml, which feels overpriced. I had high hopes that the effects would justify the cost, but unfortunately, the results don't match up to the price tag. I won't be repurchasing this product. For those considering buying this for blemish-soothing and sebum control, I'd recommend looking into other options instead. - pr*******Oily SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedFeb 26, 2025
⚪ Effects I was really satisfied with this product because its lightweight formula doesn't leave any oiliness on my face after application. It was perfect for the peak of summer, and when I accidentally misused retinal, this product was incredibly effective in soothing my skin! Its smooth application, texture, and excellent absorption don't burden the skin, making it even better for calming effects. It's great for cooling down in the summer heat, with the added bonus of a gentle soothing effect! I think I'll use it well. ⚪ Texture The texture was more of a lightweight serum than typical aloe vera gel! It's super hydrating with great absorption, and I could feel the cooling effect on my skin from the moment I applied it. However, the moisture felt slightly temporary, leaving a hint of dryness. Still, it was perfect for oily skin types to use lightly in the height of summer. While the hydration might be a bit lacking, I recommend it for its excellent soothing properties. It would be especially great to have on hand for the upcoming summer when our skin will be exposed to a lot of sunlight. It's moisturizing with almost no oiliness. ⚪ Recommended for I highly recommend this as a soothing cream for when your skin feels irritated and sensitive from sun exposure, and as a summer cream for oily skin types!! Also, using this as a face pack instead of aloe gel worked wonderfully. The product volume is on the smaller side, and it's a bit pricey, which is somewhat disappointing. Try using this as a face pack instead of aloe gel! - dk*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessRecommendedDec 1, 2024
It absorbs well and feels lightweight. The product itself is also light. It doesn't feel sticky at all. It's not very moisturizing, and when applied, it stings and causes blemishes. The amount is also too small. - th********Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 7, 2024
This is a product I use almost daily as it feels refreshing and seems to help balance oil and moisture. While it can be a bit drying when used alone, I've found it works best when paired with the gel emulsion from the same line for a synergistic effect. Initially, the pointed container makes it easy to dispense onto the skin. However, as you get to the end of the product, it becomes harder to squeeze out and often comes out in unpredictable spurts. For added soothing benefits, try using it together with the water dropwort emulsion from the same line! - sj******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinWrinkles/ElasticityRednessRecommendedAug 25, 2024
It absorbs well after cleansing without feeling too sticky. I didn't have any particular issues. However, it's better to apply a soothing cream after this product rather than using it alone. It's best to apply it right after cleansing, gently massaging it into your skin to help it absorb. - mg***Combination SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinFeb 7, 2024
The absorbs well is fantastic, it absorbs quickly, doesn't cause any blemishes, and really calms my skin! My makeup doesn't pill and it feels so refreshing. For dry skin, it's far too lightweight and leaves me feeling parched! It seems to evaporate so quickly! While the ingredients seem decent, it's only really good as a base for the mucin ampoule and for synergy. But is it worth buying at this price? The product is good, but it's just too expensive for the amount you get. - al********Normal SkinAcne SkinNov 24, 2023
Even with blemish-prone skin, it's gentle and provides temporary hydration when applied The moisturizing effect doesn't last, so my skin gradually becomes dry. There's no dramatic improvement - ho*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedOct 18, 2023
It's not sticky and absorbs well into the skin. I have sensitive skin prone to redness, but this feels cooling when applied. I use it together with celery soothing cream, and I think it's a great combination. It's a shame that the product runs out quickly due to its small size. I wish they would increase the volume a bit. For an even more cooling effect on redness, try keeping it in the refrigerator before use. - a0**********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 16, 2023
Unlike previous serums with watery textures, this gel serum has a bit more substance while still being lightweight and quick-absorbing. I use it after toner pads, and while it can feel a bit slippery if the toner hasn't fully absorbed, it generally sinks in well! I've noticed it's particularly effective on small blemishes. The Watercress Duo instantly cools the skin. It's amazing when applied to warm skin after a shower! The packaging is a bit disappointing. While it's hygienic, it's frustrating that you'll need to cut it open to use every last drop when you're nearing the end. Try keeping the Watercress Duo in the refrigerator for an extra cooling effect! - op******Combination SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRednessJul 26, 2023
▶️ The transparent container makes it easy to check how much product is left. The narrow opening allows for easy application directly on the face, which is hygienic. ▶️ It's not sticky at all. ▶️ After cleansing, I try to apply skincare quickly to prevent moisture loss, but if there's any residual dampness on my face, this product absorbs a bit slowly. ▶️ I bought the Watercress Soothing Cream from the same line and used it together, but I still felt deep dryness. My face feels tight. Those with dry skin might feel dry even in summer with this... ▶️ It's on the pricier side, but I didn't notice any dramatic effects. I'm just using it up because it was expensive. I probably won't repurchase. This seems like it would be good for oily skin types to use in summer.
