I've been using this for about a year now. It provides excellent hydration during winter, and it's gentle enough for those with super sensitive skin, so there are no blemishes. In spring and summer, it feels a bit rich, so I tend to avoid it then. It's a product that's best suited for fall and winter use. - ze**********Oily SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRecommendedFeb 18, 2025
The product's functionality is impressive, but I'm a bit disappointed with how it feels on the skin. It's a thin, translucent serum with low viscosity, but when applied to the face, there's a slight oily sensation. However, it's not sticky at all. Initially, it might seem a bit oily, but once it absorbs, it feels fine. While it's not an ultra-rich essence, it provides basic hydration that prevents dryness except in the harshest winter conditions. It gently removes dead skin cells, leaving the skin texture smooth. I also liked how it made my skin feel pleasantly firm the next morning when used at night. The most bothersome aspect of this product is its subtle yet odd scent. Perhaps due to the lactic acid content, it has a slight smell reminiscent of saliva. While I'm not a fan of overpowering fragrances either, I think it might be better to mask this raw ingredient smell with a mild fragrance. Also, since the brand hasn't fully established itself in the domestic market yet, the price feels a bit steep. - po****Dry SkinInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedNov 19, 2024
My skin type: I have dry skin with thin layers, visible blood vessels, and a slight redness. Texture: It's an incredibly lightweight formula! This is my first time trying a serum with peptides as the main ingredient. Instead of feeling hydrating, it creates a light, oily barrier that keeps my skin from feeling dry, which I love! Make sure to shake it well before use, otherwise you'll only get the thin oil layer. Scent: Even for someone like me who prefers unscented products, the fragrance isn't overwhelming. There's a slight tangy note mixed in! Recommended skin types: I think this could work well for all skin types. Drawbacks: As mentioned in the scent description, the slightly tangy smell and the tingling sensation upon application are a bit disappointing. The staff did warn me about potential tingling when I bought it, but experiencing it consistently every time is still a bit of a letdown. Pro tip! Since Drunk Elephant doesn't offer a toner, I'm using a hydrating toner for a quick exfoliating step before applying this. Finishing with the peptide cream leaves my skin feeling light, deeply moisturized, and glowing. Overall impression: Apart from the slight tingling sensation, I'm extremely satisfied using this on my dry and sensitive skin. Since switching to this serum and cream, my makeup applies better and I've noticed a significant reduction in deep dryness. - tl******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinEnlarged PoresApr 13, 2024
The lightweight formula is great for oily skin types. Applying it right after cleansing leaves your skin feeling hydrated. The design is quirky and cute. I found it interesting to mix products based on skin condition. It stings. It feels like applying an alcohol-based product on sensitive skin. I tried using it intermittently, hoping it would stop stinging when my skin improved, but it stings every time I apply it. The scent isn't great either. I prefer unscented products, but this has a strange, pungent odor that's quite unpleasant. As for the price, well... I'd pay any amount for a good product, but this one stings, doesn't seem to improve my skin, and yet it's so expensive. In my opinion, this product seems positioned for oily-skinned teenagers and young adults in their 20s with its cute packaging and light texture. However, that age group might find it difficult to afford such a pricey product regularly. It seems like it might struggle to gain traction in the Korean market. The cream was slightly better than the serum, but it felt like just an ordinary moisturizer. Oddly enough, it seems to have been discontinued. - ar*********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 26, 2023
You need to shake it before use. If you just pump it, only the oil formula comes out. When you shake it well and pump, you get an opaque essence with a serum-like texture. One pump is enough for a full application. Usually, I pump serums or essences directly onto my face and spread them, but with the Protini serum, one pump is sufficient for the entire face. I pump once into my palm, rub my hands together, and apply it by gently pressing onto my face. At first, I was surprised by a slight tingling sensation, similar to when applying a vitamin C product. It wasn't uncomfortable, just enough to make me think, 'Ah, so this is how it provides that exfoliating effect they mentioned.' The lightweight formula makes it easy to use without feeling heavy. I felt an immediate boost of hydration followed by a protective oily layer enveloping my face. What I loved most was how it locks in moisture while keeping the skin smooth, maintaining a plump and silky complexion. As the weather's getting warmer, I prefer a lighter skincare routine. I've been mixing the Protini serum with the B-Hydra serum for a one-shot, one-kill approach - it's light yet deeply nourishing, and I'm really enjoying it. On cooler days, adding a layer of cream on top would be perfect. If you don't shake it well, only the oil part comes out. There's a slight stinging sensation when applying, similar to vitamin C products, which might be irritating for some skin types. The Protini serum and B-Hydra serum seem to work really well together. - ka******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJul 11, 2022
This serum is great for when your skin feels dry. I discovered this product while browsing best-sellers at duty-free shops before an overseas trip after a long time. It was highly ranked in the cosmetics category, so I got curious and looked up reviews and ingredients. It seemed promising, so I decided to buy it. In retrospect, I think it would shine more in dry winters rather than humid summers like now. When my skin was dry in California, applying it just once before bed made my skin feel truly resurfaced the next day. It instantly made my skin feel soft and supple after being tired from sun exposure and wind. - It's somewhat on the oily side, leaving your skin excessively moisturized with a noticeable glow after application. However, it doesn't feel like it's not absorbing. - Due to the acid ingredients, avoid applying it around the eyes. You might feel a slight tingling sensation in some areas, but it's more like a warming effect that seems to dissolve sebum rather than being uncomfortable. I tried mixing it with Protini moisturizer after shaking, and it absorbed well while significantly enhancing its nourishing cream function. - jj*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsMay 9, 2022
I'm really not sure if this is good... It feels like it doesn't do anything. It absorbs so slowly. The store recommended this product for combination to oily skin. Also, Drunk Elephant as a brand focuses on mixing products as their selling point, right? But when I mix this serum with the Polypeptide Cream, it turns white and doesn't apply well at all, and it doesn't absorb properly either. I thought they'd work well together since they're from the same line, but I'm extremely disappointed. It mixes better with the Hydration Serum, but that one's too light... The Lala Retro Whipped Cream is heavy and it's really hard to find a use for this product. - 20******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedDec 18, 2021
I have combination dehydrated skin that's super sensitive with redness. My skin is particularly vulnerable to alcohol-based products. My biggest concern is my pores. The ingredients in this product are great. It feels lighter than I expected. After applying, I felt a slight tingling sensation in some areas, and it feels a bit slippery. - 23********Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 11, 2021
As I applied it, I found it surprisingly lightweight and it absorbs incredibly well The value for money is low. To be honest, the price is quite burdensome..
