It's wonderfully moisturizing for my extremely dry skin. Fragrance-free and non-irritating. It feels rich and nourishing on the skin. To be honest, it falls short as a primer. While it's moisturizing, it doesn't conceal pores at all. Major disappointment. It's not just moisturizing, it's overly rich and feels heavy on the skin. - er********Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresApr 23, 2024
It applies with a nice moisturizing feel. The mint-green base seems to do a decent job of concealing redness. This product was a huge disappointment for me. First off, I never use skincare with cica ingredients before makeup as it tends to cause pilling. I didn't realize this primer contained cica, and when I used it, my makeup severely pilled and left residue-like bits all over my face. The primer was also too light, so when I applied my usual cushion foundation over it, my skin looked unnaturally pale, giving a floating head effect. I didn't find the price particularly reasonable either. - rj*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedApr 22, 2024
It absorbs beautifully and doesn't cause any blemishes. Being a cream, it keeps my skin moisturized even in winter. The price is a bit steep, and it seems to be frequently out of stock. In summer, it feels a bit rich on the skin. - db*******Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresMar 29, 2024
Absorbs well With gentle ingredients, it has the typical primer effect of covering pores without feeling heavy or cakey! Texture The formula has a watery consistency with distinctive green particles, giving a sensation similar to applying a serum Somewhat disappointing pore coverage... While it feels less suffocating than typical pore-covering products, it seems the effectiveness is also reduced accordingly - rm**********Combination SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresMar 14, 2024
I bought this when it came with a mini set, but the amount is so generous I might not finish it before the expiration date! I've barely used half of it. It's refreshing and has a lightweight texture for a primer. It doesn't actually fill in pores. It seems to be more for smoothing out the skin texture rather than filling large pores like those on the nose. While I felt it absorbed excess oil and left my skin feeling matte, it seemed to pill and rub off when used with sunscreen. - hu*********Normal SkinFeb 16, 2024
Absolutely nothing positive to say. The only redeeming factor is the low price due to the buy-one-get-one-free deal. That's it, unfortunately. This product is terrible. The makeup doesn't absorb well and pills badly. It even rolls off like dead skin cells while applying makeup. Despite having relatively small pores, it doesn't cover them at all. I usually have good skin, but when I use this and apply makeup, my complexion looks worse. I don't see the point in using it. I regret not reading the Hwahae reviews more carefully before buying. The claim that it's a number one product online seems like false advertising. I feel deceived. - lo******Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsDec 8, 2023
I bought Dr. Jart's essence and tried the sample I received. It's a mint-colored emulsion with a refreshing peppermint scent. At first, I was surprised because it didn't absorb well, but after patting it in continuously, it sank right into my skin. While it doesn't significantly cover pores, it does refine the overall skin texture. This pore-focused product lacks sufficient hydration for dry skin. After applying, my skin feels tight as time passes. For those with dry skin, try mixing in a drop of facial oil when applying. - ji*****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedDec 3, 2023
It's fantastic for covering pores. You can really see the difference between days when you use it and days when you don't. The price is a bit of a barrier, haha. Also, it seems to be more effective at evening out skin tone than minimizing pores. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedNov 1, 2023
No matter what base makeup I use, the staying power becomes incredibly long-lasting!!! I've tried several primers from other brands, but nothing compares to this one... While individual results may vary, when I used other products, my skin would react badly, and they were all hype with zero effectiveness. Some even felt like they were ruining my base makeup, which made me vow never to use primers again... But when I accidentally received this product as a gratis with my Dr. Jart BB cream purchase, I decided to give it a try with low expectations. To my surprise, it was amazingly good! At that time, I was using a cushion foundation that was terrible in every aspect, but using this primer seemed to enhance the cushion's performance. Not only that, it seems to lock in all my makeup - mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, and eyebrows - making everything last longer! It's definitely a must-have for extending the wear of your makeup! If I really, really had to nitpick... The only good point is that it extends wear time? I'm not sure if it's functioning as a primer or more like a fixer(?). Still, it's my absolute favorite product! - fg********Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 25, 2023
An excellent product for prepping skin before makeup. It creates a smooth skin texture with a slight brightening effect, and the subtle mint scent is a mood-lifter. Notably, on days I use it, my makeup stays put without darkening until evening. On days I skip it, my foundation seems to disappear. It can be challenging to find this product. I'm constantly worried it might be discontinued. I wish it were a bit more affordable. I highly recommend giving it a try. It's a product that truly delivers on its promise as a primer.
