I love that it's closest to human pH and has clean ingredients. My skin type is oily combination. It lathers well and has a subtle fragrance. I've used it from head to toe, but there's a slight oily feeling after use. Buying the Goat Soap variety pack is more cost-effective and allows you to try different scents! I'm lazy, so I use it from head to toe in the morning shower. It works well as a daily all-in-one product! Personally, I found the Manuka Honey and Oatmeal versions to be the best for my oily combination skin. - mi**********Dry SkinRecommendedMar 26, 2021
Comparing with Dove soap: I've been using bar soap for about a year now to reduce plastic waste. I alternate between Dove and Goat Soap, so I thought I'd share a quick comparison. Can it be used as shampoo? Before I started using Goat Soap, I could wash both my hair and body with Dove. When your hair is wet after using Dove, it feels quite stiff, but once it dries, it's just as smooth as if you'd used regular shampoo. Well, maybe not quite that smooth... just normal hair, you know? However, with Goat Soap, my hair gets so stiff it's hard to brush - like a Barbie doll's synthetic hair! So Goat Soap is only suitable for body washing. Post-shower moisturizing: There isn't much difference between Dove and Goat Soap. Dove leaves skin feeling a bit softer, while Goat Soap gives more of a squeaky clean feeling. Both seem to moisturize better than regular shower gel. After using these soaps, I don't feel the need to apply lotion. Surprisingly, even though Goat Soap leaves skin feeling squeaky clean, it doesn't cause dryness. I've been using both with my kids (ages 3 and 1) without any blemishes or issues. How long does it last? When I use a Dove bar alone, it lasts about three weeks, including hair washing. But it doesn't last quite as long when the kids and occasionally my husband use it too. (My husband prefers shower gel for convenience and isn't concerned about reducing plastic waste.) Goat Soap lasts about the same when used for me and the kids. I've been inconsistent with using it for hair washing, so I don't have exact statistics, but both soaps last around 3-4 weeks per bar. Price: I bought Dove in a set of 12, which worked out to about 900 won per bar. I'm living abroad and ordered Goat Soap directly from Australia, costing about 3000 won per bar. Considering value for money, availability, and effectiveness, Dove seems unbeatable. But I'll keep using Goat Soap occasionally because I want to try different high-quality soaps. I'm still a soap nomad, collecting data on different options! Regarding Goat Soap varieties (Manuka, Lavender, Lemon, etc.): I've tried Manuka Honey, Oatmeal, Coconut, and Original. The effects are similar, but the scents differ. I particularly liked the subtle, baby lotion-like scent of Coconut. Lavender leaves a long-lasting fragrance, which is nice, but makes hair too stiff for regular use. Goat Soap is too harsh for hair washing. I'll need to buy a separate shampoo bar or use Dove for my hair. Goat Soap makes hair extremely stiff. Also, while I'm using bar soap to reduce plastic waste, Goat Soap comes in plastic packaging. Dove uses paper, though it's coated, so that's not perfect either. If you hang the soap in a mesh bag in your bathroom, it gives off a subtle fragrance, acting like an air freshener. It's also convenient to use this way. Oh, and... even though it's just soap, I've been using it on my face without any blemishes, so it's perfect as a multi-use product (except for hair).
