As someone with extremely dry skin who suffers terribly in winter, I'm a devoted fan of horse oil cream. Fortunately, the oil-based ingredients suit me well, and I don't experience any blemishes. I've been using the original Jinmayu horse oil cream for a long time, which came out before Ainako's version. I finally opened the Ainako one I received from a friend a while ago. The ingredients are exactly the same (85% premium horse oil + 15% horse mane oil), so I can't say there's anything particularly better about it compared to Jinmayu yet. I don't see any specific downsides either. I think you can just go for whichever product is cheaper and more convenient to purchase. I must say, though, Ainako's packaging does look more luxurious! Both products have the same ingredients (85% premium horse oil + 15% horse mane oil), the same 70g volume, and are both manufactured in Japan. Yet, Jinmayu costs 58,000 won while Ainako is priced at 130,000 won! Despite the price being double, there's absolutely no difference in effectiveness. Due to the nature of horse oil, both Jinmayu and Ainako have a strong scent, but personally, I find Ainako's smell even more pungent. Oddly enough, when comparing the regular prices of 100% horse mane oil products, Ainako is actually cheaper (though Jinmayu often has discounts, making it possible to buy for less). Ainako is the newer brand as far as I know, so I'm really curious about who decided on this pricing. The product itself isn't bad, but I deducted an extra star because the price is just absurd. I recommend applying this as the last step in your skincare routine. Be careful not to apply too much, as it can make your face feel sticky. A small amount is sufficient. - hy********Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDec 5, 2020
Unlike many products that only have 'horse oil' in their name, this cream truly contains horse oil as its main ingredient. It includes tocopherol as a preservative, which isn't harmful, making it suitable for all ages and genders. It absorbs well into the skin with a smooth texture. Being an oil-based product, it does feel a bit slippery and sticky, but the hydration it provides is exceptional. While it's not specifically for blemish-prone skin, it does soothe super sensitive skin when it's acting up. As someone with dry skin, I'm satisfied with how this product provides both hydration and nourishment. It's quite pricey. There are other brands offering 100% horse oil products at more affordable rates, so I probably won't repurchase this specific one. Due to the cost, I'm giving it 4 stars! - ye*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJul 11, 2020
I bought this cream because I was looking for something better than ointment for regeneration, as I disliked the discoloration and dark scars. After using it consistently for about a month and a half, I've noticed my scars have faded a bit! The most wicked thing is the price! It's way too expensive. Also, it's inconvenient to apply. In summer, it feels just like an oily formula. Since it's summer, I'm not using it on my face but applying it around scars. When I do use it on my face, I apply serum first and then finish with a light layer of this cream. - ka******Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJul 7, 2020
For those with dry, sensitive skin, even the slightest mistake in choosing basic skincare products can wreak havoc. However, this is a product I've used year-round without any concerns about blemishes. It's impossible to feel any dryness with this. It has a distinctive scent that's a bit fishy, which makes me grimace every time I use it. But its performance is so good that I can overlook even this drawback. Be careful not to apply too much, or your face might look oily. Just use a small amount, warm it between your hands, and gently press it into your skin. You'll achieve that coveted 'glass skin' look. On days when I use this, people compliment me on my complexion. Highly recommended! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJun 12, 2020
I tried this for the first time, and despite being a horse oil cream, I was surprised it wasn't greasy. It felt like it balanced the oil and moisture in my skin perfectly. The absorption was excellent, and it left my skin feeling fresh. I hesitated at first because the price was a bit steep. After much deliberation, I decided to buy it based on the great reviews. It seems like it will last longer than I expected. In the morning, I mix it with my hydrating cream. At night before bed, I apply a generous amount on its own. The next morning, my skin has a beautiful glow. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 5, 2020
I bought this as a regenerating cream recommended for managing my skin after blemish removal. I love that it has gentle ingredients. At first, I was surprised by how rich it felt, but I got used to it as I continued using it. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedMay 17, 2020
It's not as greasy as I expected and absorbs well. I usually have trouble finding products that suit me, but this one caused no side effects. My skin was in pretty bad shape, so I saw dramatic results during the first week of use. The hydration feels a bit weak. People say it lasts longer than expected, but personally, I seem to use it up quickly. It's recommended to store this in the refrigerator. When refrigerated, use the spatula to scoop some onto your finger, and it melts slightly. Applying it when it's slightly melted seems to spread better. Be cautious when applying to the forehead as it may look oily. It can also appear greasy if applied over thicker emulsions. - dp*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 1, 2020
My skin is super sensitive and when it flares up, I suffer for months. It's the kind of skin that makes you want to tear your hair out. I've spent so much on dermatologists, I could've bought a small island. Then I heard horse oil is great for skin regeneration and blemishes. What a game-changer! The regeneration is incredible, and I'm literally applauding as I watch my tiny bumps slowly disappear. Highly recommend! Nothing extraordinary about it. It's just a bit inconvenient to use. Scooping it out can be a hassle. Mixing it with a hydrating moisturizer gives it a lighter feel, which I prefer. - al******Combination SkinSensitive SkinApr 9, 2020
When I want that dewy look, I apply this as the final step in my skincare routine and wow, the glow is incredible! For night care, I slather it on generously, and my skin stays hydrated until morning. I'm not sure if it's because of this product, but suddenly I started getting acne around my cheeks and chin. I've been breaking out with one or two new spots every day, which has never happened before. After I stopped using it, things calmed down. I suspect the oily ingredients might be clogging my pores. It's a shame to throw it away since it was expensive. Maybe I'll try using a tiny amount again once my skin settles down. I've barely used a fifth of the bottle. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 23, 2020
I apply Innisfree Green Tea Skin first, followed by this emulsion. Despite being an oil-based product, it doesn't leave a greasy feeling and absorbs well, which I love. My skin is super sensitive and usually reacts badly to most creams, but this one doesn't cause any issues, which is fantastic. To sum up: 1. It's great for deep dryness. 2. Even those with oily skin can use it. 3. It doesn't cause blemishes. (In fact, it has a calming effect on existing blemishes) If I had to pick something, it would be the unfriendly price. It's currently on sale for around $50, but normally it's about $140...
