I've tried all the JM series, and honestly, I didn't notice much difference between the types. But the mugwort one does cause some redness and irritation, haha! While there's no itching or burning sensation, I noticed my skin was quite red after removing the mask. The good news is, the redness disappears by morning. Compared to the other types, this one is stickier, but that translates to amazing hydration that lasts until morning. Apart from the redness and irritation, there are no other downsides. At least the redness is gone by the next day. - ju*********Dry SkinAtopic SkinJun 17, 2025
It seemed quite hydrating when I used it on June 17th. I'm planning to give it to someone else. At first, it felt moisturizing, but shortly after applying the mask, I experienced a burning sensation and my skin became bumpy. I also applied a bit to the back of my knee (where I have atopic dermatitis), and it's incredibly itchy now. I don't recommend this product. I guess mugwort doesn't agree with my skin. - oh*******Dry SkinInner DrynessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJan 7, 2025
I've been using this for about 3 weeks, and I must say, the mugwort ingredient is excellent at quickly soothing sensitive and irritated skin. It's particularly effective for redness and blemishes. The strong, distinctive scent of mugwort might be polarizing for some users. - cs*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedDec 20, 2024
The sheet is incredibly thin, which is great. The essence is thick, so even though it's thin, it doesn't drip when applied to the face. Despite being thin, it's fully saturated with essence. When applied, it feels cool and does an excellent job of reducing heat in the skin - I love that sensation. Just knowing it's slightly acidic is comforting in itself. After about 15 minutes, the mask isn't dried out. So there's no feeling of tightness, and you might even wonder if 15 minutes have really passed. However, it's important to note that sheet masks use the sheet to deliver nutrients to the skin without loss, which blocks the skin from breathing. So no matter how tempting it is, you should never exceed 20 minutes. Some people might not have any issues, but for me, if I go over 20 minutes, even if not immediately, it eventually leads to skin troubles or other not-so-great effects. The abundance of essence is there to prevent the mask from drying out due to evaporation during use. So let's make sure to stick to the recommended usage time to improve our skin. Stay motivated! On a side note... My mom always looks for sheet masks, so we tend to stock up. Oddly enough, I rarely use them myself. Even my younger brother uses them occasionally... haha! But as time goes on, I've started to feel that just applying products isn't enough to solve deep dehydration. Plus, concerns about uneven skin texture have really piqued my interest in sheet masks. So even though we have a ton of sheet masks at home, I went ahead and bought more! Haha! I was thinking of writing reviews of the masks at home that worked well for me, but honestly... I can't really tell the difference between types! They all claim to be good for this or that, but I'm not sure if I'm not seeing the effects they promise, or if I'm just not using them consistently enough. I really can't tell any difference with brightening or firming effects, but I do see some immediate results when it comes to soothing and hydration. (Though it does vary by brand!) There's too much essence. One time, there was so much that I applied it to my chest, but it felt like it was drying on the surface? It was a bit odd. When I used the mugwort mask for three days in a row, I noticed some blemishes gently appearing. After removing the sheet, it's really challenging to absorb the remaining essence. Not only is there a lot of it, but as it starts to absorb, it becomes sticky - it feels like you've put glue on your hands and are clapping them together. When you try to separate your palms, the stickiness is so intense that it almost feels painful. Store the masks lying flat. Don't leave the mask on for more than 10-20 minutes, no matter how tempting it might be. - ti********Dry SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedOct 9, 2024
1. Generous essence amount There's an abundance of essence when you take out the mask. I applied a bit more to my face and poured the excess onto a cotton pad. 2. Soothing It feels gentle on the skin. Unlike the tea tree variant from the same line which was a bit harsh, this one felt comfortably soothing. My skin had been slightly irritated lately, but it felt calmed even after removing the mask. 3. Lightweight While it's deeply hydrating when the mask is on, it feels quite light after some time, leaving no sticky residue. Those with dry skin might want to follow up with a moisturizer. I personally loved how non-sticky it was. 4. Affordable It's great that you can easily pick this up at Daiso for just a dollar. 1. Mask shape When aligning it with the eyes and nose, the forehead part seems a bit short while the bottom extends to just below the chin. Perhaps because it's meant to cover the eyelids? That's a bit disappointing. 2. Stiff mask material The mask fabric feels somewhat stiff. While it's easy to apply to the face, I wish it were softer. The mask from Two Face School at Daiso was incredibly soft, which makes this one a bit of a letdown. Usually, the area around the nose and forehead tends to dry first when masking. Try applying some Vaseline over these areas after putting on the mask to keep it from drying out too quickly! - ki*******Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 14, 2024
I've tried many sheet masks, but this one seems to be exceptionally good The mask is a bit small for my face, which is on the larger side - Hwahae UserOily SkinRecommendedMar 24, 2024
I bought this because it had the Hwahae seal of approval, and it's absolutely fantastic. The sheet mask adheres perfectly and is packed with hydration. Usually, I break out the day after using sheet masks, so I rarely use them or am not satisfied. But with this one, my skin stayed moisturized and looked brighter even the next day. My skin tends to feel warm (though not actually hot) and dry when I use sheet masks, and I experienced that slightly with this one too. It's also a bit sticky, so it attracts dust to your face. It doesn't feel fresh, but rather has a dense, tacky texture. - ye*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessDead Skin CellsFeb 18, 2024
Use with caution if you have sensitive skin!! It doesn't suit me at all. My skin feels tingly and hot, with irritation causing redness. - dl******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 7, 2023
* The ingredients are excellent. I have super sensitive skin, so I'm very meticulous about checking ingredients, and this product passed my scrutiny. Sometimes even products with good ingredients can cause itching or blemishes when I use them, but this one felt incredibly comfortable and suitable for my skin. * It's hydrating and seems like a great mask for daily use. I didn't find any drawbacks at all. I even managed to buy it at a good price. - k7*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedNov 29, 2023
Incredibly gentle mask that provides excellent hydration Dries out rapidly and might not provide sufficient moisture for those with dry skin
