When applied before makeup, it gives your skin a slightly matte finish with a beautiful glow. 1. The shimmering effect from the pearls gets covered by foundation, so it's hard to tell how effective it really is. Besides that effect, I'm not sure what other functions it serves. 2. A versatile pearl base that doubles as a primer? In my personal opinion, it reminds me of strobe cream. However, it's thinner than strobe cream, has a pearly ivory color, and offers some primer functionality. Because it's so thin, it tends to leak if you stand it upright. So I just lay it down when using it. My pores have been looking wider recently, so I was testing primers at Olive Young. I was drawn to its moisturizing feel and almost bought a thicker primer, but ended up with this instead. If you're expecting significant pore coverage, you might be disappointed. It only slightly covers small pores. Strangely, while it's not amazingly good, I feel like there's a subtle difference when I don't use it. I'll probably end up using the whole tube without really thinking about it. I have both strobe cream and this product, but lately I find myself reaching for this one more often. If you're hesitant about using thick, silicone-heavy primers to fill in your pores, this might be a good lightweight alternative to try.
