I'm already on my second bottle of this product and have pre-purchased another one. My skin tends to feel tight right after cleansing, but as time passes, my forehead and nose become oily. Dealing with both dehydration and excess oil, I've been searching for a foundation that 1) isn't too matte to clog my pores, and 2) doesn't break down unattractively due to oil. Given Laura Mercier's reputation for powders, I had high hopes for their foundation, and it didn't disappoint! I prefer a healthy-looking complexion over a pale one, so I like shades that blend seamlessly with my skin. Laura Mercier's Flawless Fusion Long Wear Foundation offers an impressive range of colors. The Cashew shade is perfect for my yellowish tone 22 skin. It looks so natural that I don't need to apply it heavily down to my neck to avoid any noticeable difference. I used to use Giorgio Armani Silk Lasting 4 consistently. Comparing the two, Armani feels incredibly thin and enhances your natural skin glow, while Laura Mercier provides a more powdery finish. Also, I occasionally get cystic acne, leaving behind some hyperpigmentation, which the Laura Mercier foundation seems to cover better. I've only tested Estée Lauder Double Wear, known for its maximum coverage, but I disliked how it seemed to erase all dimension from my face, so I didn't purchase it. Laura Mercier, on the other hand, never feels that thick. Even a tiny amount spreads easily over the entire face, feeling incredibly lightweight and fresh while providing a smooth skin finish. It keeps oil at bay until evening, and even if some shine does appear, it doesn't just settle into pores, resulting in a beautifully subtle wear-off that you'll hardly notice ;) On my recommendation, my sister also bought this foundation. She has less yellow undertones and slightly fairer skin than me, so she uses shade 21. However, it seems that even the neutral or pink-based shades in Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Long Wear Foundation have a slight yellow tint! When my sister used it, she noticed darkening over time, and because it wasn't an exact match for her, it looked a bit floaty on her skin. My sister usually uses Giorgio Armani Silk Lasting Foundation in shade 2. I highly recommend testing the Laura Mercier foundation colors in-store before purchasing! Also, the black cap has a soft, velvety texture that easily shows fingerprints, making it look messy - that could be considered a drawback if you're particular about such things. The pump opening is quite small, so if it gets even slightly clogged, you might end up with foundation splattering everywhere. Always make sure to keep the pump opening clean! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 22, 2018
This is my holy grail foundation. It makes me regret all the money I've spent on other foundations! I've been using it since before it was available in Korea, importing it from Japan, and it's absolutely fantastic. The longevity is unbeatable. It applies with a hydrating feel, gradually sets to a more matte finish, and even the way it wears off throughout the day is beautiful. If I really had to nitpick, the matte finish on the cap makes it prone to scratches and fingerprints.
