It calms my hair and makes it soft. For reference, my hair is bleached and dyed. There's nothing bad except the price. But considering how much it improves my hair, I'd say the price is reasonable. - ac******Dry SkinRecommendedJun 22, 2021
I've been using this for over 10 bottles now. 1. Scent While I expect it might be polarizing, I absolutely adore it. I usually wash my hair in the evening, but sometimes I'll just apply the treatment in the morning, rinse it out, and go. The lingering scent is just that good...! For reference, I'm a huge fan of the Daddy-O shampoo and Dirty spray scents. I highly recommend visiting a store to sample the fragrance yourself. 2. Effectiveness I used to skip conditioner out of laziness, but started using this on a staff member's recommendation to pair it with Daddy-O. After consistent use over time, my hair has noticeably become softer! I remember being told it was Lush's most hydrating hair product, though with new releases so often, that might not be the case anymore... Anyway, in my experience, it's had a significant impact on improving my hair texture. The only potential drawback might be the price... but I've seen many conditioners that are even more expensive for this volume, so I don't really consider this a major con. When used with Daddy-O, the lingering scent is definitely more noticeable! Even after drying my hair and being out and about for a while, the fragrance continues to waft from my hair. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 15, 2021
When using Lush shampoo, my hair tends to get stiff, so I need to use a conditioner with it. Using this one together made my hair feel soft and nice. The scent is fresh and not as strong as the shampoo, which I prefer. It has a slight grassy or vegetable-like smell. I also liked that there's hardly any lingering scent after rinsing, which is great! It seems a bit pricey, and the ingredients aren't particularly exceptional for the cost. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 18, 2019
This is truly a holy grail product! I originally had thick, coarse hair that was resistant to perms, but after 3-4 years of bleaching, dyeing, and perming in college, my hair was completely damaged. However, since using Retread, even my hairstylist noticed a significant improvement in my hair's condition! According to her, the soy protein in the product is great for hair health. I used this from March to May when I visited Korea and then returned to the US. When I went to the salon in May, my stylist commented on the improvement, so it seems my hair condition improved in just about 2 months. I still use it every day. The scent isn't particularly fresh or zesty! A Lush employee in the US mentioned that they mix natural oils with this product due to its smell (of course, they told me not to do this myself, so I didn't). If your hair is severely damaged: After shampooing and rinsing, apply the product to your hair, then soap up your body. Rinse your hair while rinsing your body. If your hair damage is moderate: After shampooing and rinsing, apply the product to your hair, wait for 1 minute, then rinse it out before washing your body. This is the method I used! - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAtopic SkinJun 11, 2019
Trusted Lush as always. With melon and avocado added, it feels like it'll naturally repair damaged hair in an eco-friendly way. Checked the ingredients on Hwahae and found it contains parabens... I probably won't buy it again. They seem to overuse fragrances too. Actually, this product doesn't smell that great, so I wonder why they even bother adding fragrance. This product has a paste-like consistency, so I recommend using a disposable spoon rather than your hands. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedOct 28, 2018
It's just great all around. It can even restore split ends. However, it is pricey. Seems expensive for the amount you get. Also, despite Lush advertising itself as an eco-friendly brand, it contains many potentially harmful ingredients... Apply and leave on for as long as possible, up to 30 minutes. - wi*********Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedJul 7, 2018
I've been using this hair product from Hwahae as a leave-in treatment every month. To be honest, I've tried several Hwahae shampoos, but they don't seem to work well for me. However, I continue to use Jasmine and Henna as well as Retread as treatment-cum-conditioners. It feels like this product contains all the good stuff for your hair! It seems to provide plenty of hydration and nourishment, especially for damaged hair. It's great for dry or stiff hair! The container is really inconvenient to use. Having to scoop it out with your hands while in the middle of washing your hair... it's a part I find hard to get used to. Since it's such a rich, nourishing product, adjust the leave-in time according to your hair condition. - wo******Dry SkinOct 29, 2017
After using it once, you really feel like your hair has been filled with something substantial. It's said to be between a rinse and a treatment, and that's exactly how it feels. The amount! Even if you apply it sparingly, you can only use it a few times. Once, I left it on like a mask for a long time, and when I rinsed it out, my hair was still super heavy. By evening, it either absorbed or evaporated, and my hair felt light as if freshly washed - but that might be a trap. Just apply a small amount to the ends of your hair where damage is most likely to occur. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSep 30, 2017
Repeated bleaching and dyeing caused my hair to become limp and lifeless... Even at the salon, they said it was worse than split ends! I was desperately searching for hair care solutions when I heard this product was good for limp hair, so I decided to give it a try. Now my hair is no longer limp! I noticed a significant improvement compared to other products I've used. You definitely need to use a conditioner after this product to make your hair soft. If you use this alone, your hair feels slightly stiff! I've tried many hair care brands and drugstore products, but I highly recommend this to anyone whose hair has become really limp and wants to restore it to a healthy state! - ti***********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinApr 10, 2017
Living in sunny California for a long time, my hair was so damaged it was naturally bleached. But after using this, it became soft and silky again. It's great that you see results quickly without having to leave it on for long. My hair feels calmer and has a nice shine now. The container... well... it's awkward to scoop out with your hands, but using a spoon every time is inconvenient too. It's not hygienic since it's not a pump type. The amount is small - I use up a whole tub in two weeks with my long hair. It's expensive. I mean, why charge so much for this little amount? I find the timing works perfectly when I apply it to my hair after shampooing, then use body wash and rinse everything off together.
