I was about to let the whole year pass without doing anything, so I quickly searched for one. The 'Something-or-other' brand seemed the most reasonable, but buying it just for my neck felt like a waste of money. Then, while I was still procrastinating, I saw Hwahae was doing a Hwahae Testers event for brightening moisturizers. I applied and won! (Huge thanks to Hwahae, seriously!) To be honest, I'd never heard of this brand before, so I was a bit skeptical when I opened the package. But since it was free and I was only using it on my neck, I gave it a shot. The container is quite large, probably because it's meant for body use. The pump dispenser makes it easy to apply right before getting dressed after doing my makeup. The brightening effect is natural - it doesn't make you stark white, but rather evens out your skin tone to match your face. Nice! I only use a pea-sized amount though. What I love is that it's not sticky after application. The scent is just your typical artificial cotton fragrance you'd expect from cosmetics (which isn't great, to be honest). I checked the details online, and apparently you can use it on both body and face. So far, I've only used it on my neck (I was too scared to use it on my face because I have sensitive skin). I plan to keep using it just on my neck! With this much product, it'll last forever. Thanks, Hwahae! I just checked the price online, and it's 35,000 won with a 30% discount??? Wow, that's pricier than I thought. Even if it's for both body and face, a brightening moisturizer in the 30,000 won range after discount... hmm, isn't that a bit expensive?

Sorry for the late review! 💗Texture💗 You can tell from the photos! It applies smoothly like a body emulsion. 💗Application💗 I was worried it might feel dry or pill after drying, but it spreads evenly with no pilling at all! 💗Finish💗 Right after applying, you can feel something on your skin, which I thought might be a downside. While it's not completely undetectable, any stickiness disappears over time, leaving a powdery finish. 💗Transfer💗 The most crucial aspect for a body brightening moisturizer... It doesn't transfer! I rubbed it against black clothes! One thing to note: put on clothes after it's dried a bit. However, I can't guarantee it won't transfer if you sweat! 💗Brightening effect💗 Looking at the comparison photos, you can clearly see the yellow undertones have been reduced! It's not unnaturally white, just a natural, fair glow. It's even more noticeable in person than in photos! 💗Irritation💗 As someone with super sensitive skin, I experienced no issues! No itching, all good! However, I can't recommend it for those with atopic dermatitis, just to be safe! For those wondering about using it on the face, it was okay when I tried! But since it's a body emulsion, it felt a bit odd. If you have resilient skin, give it a try! 💗Amount💗 There's plenty of product! 💗Sweat and water issues💗 This is important! You'll probably use body brightening moisturizers mostly in summer. When I sprayed water on it and wiped, it left a white residue. While this is somewhat unavoidable, it might not be suitable for those who sweat a lot or for water parks! I can't be responsible for white marks on clothes due to sweat! However, after wiping off the water, there was no pilling or visible water marks! It stayed natural! The brightening effect is less intense than initially, but still noticeably fairer than without it! I've been using it consistently after showers, and I can definitely feel my complexion brightening up, giving me a more vibrant look. I think if I keep using it, I might be able to get back to my pre-tan skin tone! The texture and absorption: It's moisturizing with just the right amount of richness, so when applied to the body, there's no dryness. That's why I find myself reaching for it so often during this changing season! Effectiveness: When I applied it to areas prone to discoloration like elbows, I could immediately feel an improvement in skin tone! It seems to tackle both brightening and hydration simultaneously, which makes it such a great product. The ingredients also seem gentle, as I didn't experience any blemishes or itching, which made me love it even more. Scent: It has a very familiar peach-like fragrance that I absolutely adore! It's a scent that I think most people would enjoy. I think it would have been nice if the container was a bit more transparent! Apply generously to areas where you're concerned about discoloration, and for the rest of your body, apply gently as you would with a regular body emulsion!

My kids even snuggled up to me, saying I smelled good. The texture is a smooth cream that applies easily. It's a white cream, so it looks a bit pale right after application. I initially planned to apply it thickly twice, but it didn't absorb well. So I ended up applying it just once after showering (it was difficult to apply right before bed). Being a cream, it had a slight stickiness. If I'd been wearing short sleeves, it might have left marks where it rubbed, but with long sleeves, it probably absorbed into the clothing. While I didn't experience any blemishes, after 4-5 uses, I'm not sure if it actually brightens the skin tone. Right after application, the white cream sits on the skin, making it look a bit pale. The product absorbs well, so you can easily even out your skin tone on desired areas with just a few swipes. I also loved that you can pump it out like a body emulsion. The most significant advantages were how it naturally evens the complexion and how it absorbs like a hydrating body lotion without any residue. Personally, I wasn't a fan of the scent... It had a fragrance similar to men's skincare products, which became overwhelming when I applied a lot on my arms near my nose. The scent might be quite divisive. Also, I think it's on the pricier side. Hwahae shows it at 50,000 won, which I feel is too much for me to consider purchasing. Fortunately, it brightened my skin naturally without looking dull. The cream was applied to the right side of the blue line in the photo. - It washes off easily with soap! No need for a separate cleansing product. - Minimal transfer onto dark clothing. While not completely transfer-free, it's comparable to my favorite N brand brightening moisturizer in terms of minimal transfer. I had high hopes when they said it was gentle enough to sleep in, but there are three disappointing aspects: 1. Lack of hydration While it's fine for my face, my body skin became painfully dry without applying an emulsion, possibly due to dermatitis. The texture feels like an emulsion, but it doesn't provide a hydrating effect. You'll definitely need to apply a separate emulsion. 2. Blemishes <- Gentle enough to sleep in...? Since it's a body emulsion and supposedly okay to sleep in, I tried it on my face after cleansing before bed. Despite completing my skincare routine, I still developed blemishes. However, my skin is sensitive to seasonal changes and conditions, so just be cautious depending on your skin type. Cleansing is definitely necessary. 3. Beware of pilling Areas with frequent friction experience the typical pilling of brightening moisturizers. It seemed to gather more in wrinkled areas like the neck and elbows. When I habitually rubbed my neck, it came off like dead skin cells. While it's not excessive, it's worth keeping in mind to avoid embarrassment. 1. Improving dryness For those with severe dryness, applying a body oil or effective moisturizer first can prevent issues. 2. Suitable for a bare-faced look We often have those moments when we need to quickly pop out, right? When you want to look brighter but feel like sunscreen alone isn't enough, this emulsion-type product is great. You can quickly apply it and go out without feeling suffocated. It actually feels less drying on the face and gives a nice glow, so I'd prefer using it on my face rather than as a body cream.
