You know, I'm one of those people who absolutely hates leaving the house once I'm in. I bought these MAC Wipes and MAC Cleansing Oil after a recommendation at the department store, and let me tell you, they're a game-changer! Just a quick swipe before bed and I'm good to go! If my hands feel a bit icky, I'll follow up with a wet wipe. There's not much to dislike, really. Sure, the price is quite steep, but that's MAC for you, right? I repurchased, but I noticed something - while the wipes are made in the USA, the cleansing oil they recommend using with it is actually made in Japan. I generally avoid Japanese cosmetics due to radiation concerns, so I'll have to find an alternative oil. For light makeup days, I cut the wipes in half - one sheet is more than enough. I store the halves in single-use zipper bags. Just a quick swipe and I'm ready for bed! To be honest, when I'm wearing heavier eye makeup, cleansing water doesn't quite cut it. That's when MAC Wipes really shine - they're noticeably better at removing makeup (Updated 2019). - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinFeb 23, 2017
I heard models use this backstage at fashion shows to touch up their makeup, so I bought it to try (it must be over 10 years old now). It's the best among cleansing wipes. The price is a bit wicked, so I don't always keep it stocked. However, when laziness strikes, when I'm too tired, or when I can't do a proper cleanse, one sheet of this removes all my smoky eye makeup completely. I can't use anything else. The price is just... too expensive, that's the only flaw. I usually buy the bulk pack of 100 sheets. Since I don't use it daily, using about one sheet per week means it lasts a very long time. If you store it upside down, it won't dry out and you can use it until the very end. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinSep 19, 2015
After seeing my friend use this, I thought 'Wow, that looks super convenient!' So I bought it: - Seriously convenient. Just pull one out and swipe, done! - Works fine for removing basic base makeup. - I don't wear lip products, my mascara is the water-soluble type, so I just need it to remove eyeliner well. - Even the toughest eyeliners tend to fade a bit on my eyelids, so this worked well enough for me to remove point makeup too. - The scent is oddly pleasant; personal preference though. - Price-wise, I think it might work out cheaper than Bioderma Sensibio? Even though you use quite a bit each time... - MAC is known for their color cosmetics, so I had complete faith they'd make good makeup removers too. - It's definitely on the harsher side. - You can't soak it generously like you would with cleansing water, so as you wipe and it starts to dry, there's some friction that can be irritating. - If you wear heavy point makeup, removing it all with this might be too harsh... - But it's not worth doing a double or triple cleanse with a separate point makeup remover, then this for base makeup, then a foam cleanser (my usual cleansing finale). That's just too much hassle. - It seems perfect for travel, but I wouldn't buy it just for that; those with resilient skin could probably use it comfortably daily and find it even more convenient for trips. I'm envious! - I just stuff cotton pads into a contact lens case and pour in some cleansing water to take with me. That's about as much effort as my skin can handle to stay somewhat maintained. - While the wipe format is unfortunately too harsh for my skin, it cleanses well so I'll give it three stars, plus one for the oddly appealing scent. - Oh, and if you store it upside down occasionally, opening side down, it seems to help the product distribute more evenly and prevent just the top sheet from drying out.
