When I use this product for my second cleanse after an oil cleanser, it feels like it completely removes any lingering residue from the oil. The best part is that it manages to do this without stripping my skin's moisture. I really dislike the old-fashioned aluminum tube packaging. If you leave it on your face too long, there's a bit of a burning sensation. I wonder why they recommend using it only every other day? It's excellent for removing any leftover residue from oil cleansers. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedFeb 10, 2020
It's gentle and nice. I personally enjoy the grain scent, and my skin feels hydrated after use! I'm not sure about its cleansing effectiveness. That's why I only use it for morning cleansing or on days when I'm not wearing makeup. - zx********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedOct 31, 2019
Hmm... It's a product that doesn't lather much, leaving you unsure if it's actually cleansing or not. The scent is somewhat reminiscent of roasted grain powder or soy milk? It smells quite delicious! I bought it on sale, but I wouldn't pay full price for it. This is really only suitable for morning cleansing on bare skin and not much else. It doesn't even remove sunscreen effectively. Well, I probably wouldn't buy it again... Maybe if it's on sale, but having too many cleansers is just a hassle. It's good for daily morning cleansing for those with dry or very dry skin! - di*******Dry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 13, 2019
I never understood why people spent money on cleansers until I tried this one - it completely changed my mind. This product is from Yesti, a sub-line of Niod, which is a high-end sub-brand of Deciem (it's hard enough to distinguish between Deciem's brands, and this product is part of the Yesti sub-line along with two other masks. Yesti emphasizes a scientific approach to ingredients that people have used for a long time). Their goal is to absorb oil without affecting the skin itself. 1. The fragrance is absolutely delightful. 2. It's incredibly effective for pore cleansing. I saw the same level of pore-unclogging results as you'd typically get with salicylic acid. It really separates sebum and oil from the skin. 3. It doesn't lather at all, but when you rinse it off, you can feel your skin tightening without any oiliness, giving you that 'clean' feeling. You can use a small amount from the start, but even with minimal use, there's zero residue. 4. Despite its powerful cleansing ability, it's genuinely non-irritating to the skin. (It's even less irritating than some low pH foaming cleansers) 1. The texture is somewhat like a watery paste, so it can leak out of the ointment-style cap. A pump dispenser is urgently needed. 2. It's very expensive (they do sell 180ml for about $30, but it's still pricey). The price is on par with or higher than department store brand cleansers. However, the cleansing effect is so good that I plan to stick with it. 3. The aluminum tube packaging makes it difficult to control the amount dispensed. 4. It's not designed for prolonged massaging. Due to its absorptive properties, it quickly becomes tacky if you try to massage it for too long. 5. There's some controversy surrounding the company. The CEO was once fired due to mental health issues, and while the brand is now stabilizing, it was embroiled in beauty industry drama in 2018 along with Kat Von D's anti-vaccine statements and Sunday Riley's review manipulation scandal... Don't judge this product by its ingredients list. Niod products may not seem to have particularly impressive ingredients, but their formulations are unparalleled. Also, this product isn't meant to be used as a makeup remover. It seems to be designed for deep cleansing of the skin's natural oils. - ki******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinJan 25, 2017
As someone with sensitive skin that reacts quickly to harsh ingredients, I'm impressed. I've been using this for 3 months without any issues, which speaks to how gentle it is. Foam cleansers usually leave my skin too dry, and milk or water cleansers often leave residue. But using this as a second cleanse after a water cleanser is perfect! It's the ideal balance. The scent is quite... unique. It's reminiscent of soy sauce mixed with seaweed. Initially, it was a bit shocking, but the product works so well that I've learned to tolerate it. Another downside is the tube packaging - it tends to leak and burst towards the end. I really wish they'd consider changing the container. This product is spot-on when used as a second cleanse after a water-based cleanser. It's a winning combination. - Hwahae UserDry SkinDec 15, 2016
The cleansing foam I used before always made my cheeks red and swollen, with a tight feeling right after washing. This product, however, doesn't cause any of those symptoms, which really shows how gentle it is. At first, I found it a bit awkward that it didn't lather at all, but I quickly got used to it. In fact, I like that it feels like it's cleansing without any irritation. The aluminum tube makes it difficult to control the amount dispensed. Once you squeeze the tube, it keeps coming out slowly. It continues to flow out based on how much pressure you apply, so you need to either close the cap tightly or be careful with the amount you use. Although it's meant for a second cleanse, it's really great for morning cleansing too. If you squeeze it little by little from the end of the tube, it's easy to control the amount. Even when you've used about half of it, you can still use it all up without much difficulty.
