1. The ingredients are pretty decent. It's primarily composed of olive oil, making it a true 'oil-based' cleansing product. 2. It doesn't sting if it gets in your eyes. (Though it may cause some blurriness) Unlike irritating products that sting immediately upon contact with the skin, this one doesn't. 3. The cleansing effectiveness is above average. It removes most base makeup, eyeliner, and lipstick. However, I haven't tested it on super long-lasting products like waterproof mascara since I rarely wear makeup these days. 4. Although it's fragrance-free, it has a slightly fresh, natural herbal scent. Personally, I found the scent pleasant and not overwhelming. 5. The finish isn't powdery dry, but rather oily, which helps maintain the skin's oil and moisture balance. This product might be great for those whose skin feels tight and dry right after cleansing. 1. Even with prolonged massaging, it doesn't effectively remove blackheads or whiteheads. I often use cleansing oils for sebum removal, but this product doesn't work well for that purpose. 2. The price point makes me question if this product is really worth purchasing over others. 3. When it accidentally gets in your eyes, it blurs your vision. This was particularly inconvenient for me as I have poor eyesight. 4. Without a separate pump, it's difficult to use. The bottle opening is very wide, making it hard to control the amount dispensed. 5. The oily residue tends to linger, so you need to emulsify thoroughly and possibly follow up with a second cleanse. Among all the cleansing oils I've tried, this one left the most noticeable residual feeling on my face after washing. If given the choice between this product and other cost-effective cleansing oils, I would likely opt for a different product. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 6, 2020
• Removes makeup incredibly well (even waterproof mascara!!) • Thoroughly cleanses, getting rid of makeup even between dead skin cells • If it gets in your eyes while removing eye makeup, it can blur your vision • Leaves a slight oily residue after washing It's much more effective to use your hands rather than cotton pads for a more thorough cleanse - jk*****Dry SkinRecommendedMar 30, 2020
First off, even if it gets in your eyes while cleansing, there's hardly any stinging sensation. One pump doesn't dispense as much as other cleansing oils, so you might need multiple pumps, but you can adjust the amount based on how heavy your makeup is. It's not too watery and has a nice consistency, making it pleasant to massage in. After rinsing, your skin doesn't feel tight or dry. Usually, we use cleansing oils to remove full makeup and follow up with a foam cleanser anyway, so the finish isn't a major concern, but this product seems pretty good overall. The pump is sold separately, which is an extra expense. However, if you plan to keep using this cleansing oil, you could just buy the refill next time and use the pump from your current bottle. If you're looking for a reasonably priced department store brand cleansing oil that removes makeup effectively, this could be your solution! - bo******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedNov 22, 2019
I've been so satisfied with this product that I've gone through 4-5 bottles. It has just the right weight, not too light, and a lovely fragrance that kept me using it for a long time. It effectively removes eye makeup and lipstick without needing a separate remover. The price isn't too steep either. Compared to the once-popular Shu Uemura cleansing oil, this offers better value for money. Plus, the Origins brand gives off a more eco-friendly vibe. These days, with so many great cosmetics available, I probably wouldn't go to a department store and spend that much on a product of this caliber. Sorry, Origins, my former love... - lo******Dry SkinRecommendedNov 17, 2019
I'm on my third bottle now, as it seems to work quite well for me. It has a slightly refreshing scent and a medium-weight oil texture. When massaged in properly, it even removes eye makeup effectively. I've noticed it slightly reduces the appearance of blackheads too. I checked on Hwahae and was relieved to see that the ingredients are generally safe. As effective as it is at removing makeup, it can leave the skin feeling a bit tight after cleansing. Especially when paired with Origins Checks and Balances foaming cleanser, you might experience an extra squeaky-clean sensation. You need to quickly apply hydration after washing your face to prevent deep dryness. - wo*********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedOct 14, 2018
I wanted to find a cleansing oil I could stick with, so I took a chance on this one again. The reviews I saw on blogs were overwhelmingly positive. First off, I usually get small blemishes when I use cleansing oils, but this is almost the only one that doesn't cause any breakouts or tiny bumps. Just for that, I'd give it at least 4 stars! I think the emulsification process is crucial. If it doesn't emulsify well even with lots of water, the slippery feeling typical of oils remains, which can clog pores and cause blemishes. So I believe a product that emulsifies well and rinses off cleanly is ideal, and this one seems to accomplish that at least 70% of the time. That's probably why it doesn't cause any small bumps! Some cleansing oils are great at rolling off dead skin cells and sebum when you massage them into your skin, but this one doesn't quite do that. That's a bit disappointing. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 23, 2018
I used to remove makeup with cleansing cream, but since I have dry skin, it caused severe deep dryness and tingling. So I switched to oil. Previously, I used Chino Shioya oil, but it ran out quickly and somehow the price jumped from just over 20,000 won to the 30,000 won range. So I decided to look for something new and gentle, which is how I found this product. 1. Blackheads: Oil products often advertise that they dissolve sebum. In my case, while I didn't see dramatic effects, when I took the time to roll it on my face with my hands, it did dissolve quite a bit of sebum. 2. Cleansing effectiveness: After cleansing, I wipe with toner, and overall, no impurities or residue came off on the cotton pad. I can't say for sure about lip or eye makeup as I use a separate remover for those. 3. Hydration: My skin is between dry and very dry, and when I change skincare products, I sometimes get mild redness and blemishes. But from the first use, there were no blemishes and no deep dryness. Overall, I'm satisfied with this product and I'm on my third bottle now. 1. Price: It's really wickedly expensive... It's about 36,000 won per bottle, so I could only buy it when online malls had sales or when I decided to splurge. 2. Scent: While it's supposed to be unscented, there's an ambiguous scent when you first use it that takes some getting used to. To be fair, I used it without much discomfort, but that's because I'm the type who doesn't mind slathering on carrot oil from a popular overseas shopping site, so take that into account. 3. Cloudy effect: I didn't mind it since I wash it off with water anyway, but when I had my boyfriend try it, he found it very difficult when his vision got cloudy while rinsing (of course, you can just close your eyes while washing, but he was really surprised). If you need to open your eyes midway through cleansing and don't like the white residue, consider this! It seems worse with this product compared to Chino Shioya, which had almost none of this effect. Many online reviews show the pump already attached. When I first bought it, I didn't know and just got the oil, which made it hard to control the amount. A whole lot would come out at once, and I almost died of regret wasting it. When you buy, make sure to get the dedicated pump from the mall! It makes it easy to control the amount and saves a lot. +) The pump costs about 1,600-2,000 won, but if you're hesitating, you can buy a universal pump container from Daiso and decant it. That works well too! - ky*******Combination SkinMar 4, 2018
After experiencing breakouts with other cleansing products, I switched to this one. It seems gentle and doesn't irritate my skin much. The packaging is inconvenient to use. A drawback is that the dispensing hole is too large. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinFeb 27, 2018
It's gentle with a pleasant scent (reminds me of a spa somehow?) that removes makeup effectively. It doesn't sting even if it gets in your eyes. It feels like it's moisturizing while cleansing. There's nothing particularly disappointing about it. I think I can use it comfortably without any issues. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinDec 26, 2017
I switched from DHC cleansing oil to Origins cleansing oil a few years ago. It's great at removing eye makeup and doesn't cause any irritation. I'm extremely satisfied with it. The only slight downside is that you have to buy a pump dispenser separately.
