Before adding water, I thought it was quite hard and wondered if it would dissolve well. I put a bean-sized amount on my palm with just enough water to pool, and rubbed it between both hands. To my surprise, the coffee beans crumbled instantly! I applied a bit more pressure, and a cream-like substance formed. There was more cream than I expected, and it felt smooth. It blended well with the gritty texture of the coffee beans, though I could still feel a bit more of the coffee's texture - maybe a 65% coffee to 35% cream ratio? The natural coffee scent made me feel like I was enjoying a late-night coffee, which was quite pleasant for a non-coffee drinker like me. It was like getting that caffeine buzz in the wee hours! Perhaps due to its natural ingredients, it seemed more effective than my usual exfoliator. My skin looked brighter, and removing the dead skin cells left my complexion clearer, softer, and with cleaner-looking pores. I'm usually very particular about my skincare routine, sticking to products long-term after careful consideration. So I was surprised to find myself won over by this unexpected sample! It's been a while since I've wanted to buy an exfoliator this much. Highly recommended! For those with sensitive or delicate skin, the coffee bean particles might be a bit harsh. I was worried when I developed a pimple on my cheek the next day. Fortunately, the ingredients themselves aren't irritating, so it didn't aggravate my blemishes too much. However, I felt like it slightly irritated a pimple that shouldn't have been touched. But thanks to its high moisture content, it doesn't damage the skin! I think you can manage it well by gently rolling it with the right amount of pressure. When first dissolving and crushing the coffee beans, try rubbing them with two fingers on your palm instead of rubbing your palms together - this should prevent spills. Be careful not to use too much water for dilution, or it might run down your arms! - hy******Combination SkinRecommendedFeb 12, 2020
For about $10, you can exfoliate for two months! The coffee grounds are great - they adhere well to the skin. Maybe it's because coffee is rich in nutrients, but my skin doesn't feel tight afterwards. It instantly gives a clearer appearance. The soap base is a downside. It's not ideal for just washing your face. Coffee grounds get everywhere - all over your face, body, and even in places you can't see. Use this before washing your hair or showering! Some might wonder if this replaces cleansing, but you need to remove all makeup first (it won't remove makeup). It only provides basic cleansing. The coffee grounds leave a slightly oily, heavy feeling, which this product is designed to cleanse away. It's quite solid, so soak it in water first, then crumble it and massage it onto your face. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 24, 2019
The coffee bean shape is adorable and it leaves a nice coffee scent. At first, I used one whole bean, but it was too much. Half a bean is plenty. The soap base makes it glide smoothly, yet the coarse particles give a rough sensation. You'd think it might irritate the skin, but after rinsing, your skin feels incredibly soft. My skin doesn't usually feel tight, but after scrubbing, it's noticeably more hydrated. It's uncomfortable when small bits of the scrub get into your eyes or mouth while washing. I can't see dead skin cells visibly coming off, so I'm not sure if it's effectively removing them. The ziplock bag packaging makes it inconvenient to take out while washing. If you take it out with wet hands during cleansing, the other particles get damp and clump together. It's easier to take out one bean with dry hands before washing. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedOct 26, 2018
The coffee scent is lovely, and I initially thought 'Is this all?' due to the small size. But when you crush one bead, it surprisingly yields quite a bit of product. I actually split it in half for use. While it's slightly stimulating, if you gently massage it after wetting your face, it effectively removes whiteheads and dead skin cells. After cleansing, my skin feels deeply moisturized and soft! You need to be extra careful when crushing it in water, as the contents can suddenly escape if you're not gentle. I wonder if it might have been better as a loose powder, like some body scrubs. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMay 23, 2018
The coffee scent is lovely, and the coffee bean shape is absolutely adorable! Even with the gentlest rubbing, it causes quite a bit of irritation, unfortunately. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedMay 15, 2018
As someone with sensitive skin, I've always struggled with exfoliation. Other scrubs were often too harsh and caused irritation. But when a friend recommended this product, I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! The best part is that I can control the intensity, and it doesn't irritate my skin at all. It's incredibly effective at removing dead skin cells too! I absolutely love the coffee scent - it's divine. Honestly, I wish I could use this product every day in my daily mask routine. Highly recommended for those with super sensitive skin! While the ziplock packaging is convenient, be careful when trying to use it after washing your face. The unused product can get wet if you're not cautious! It's easier to take out what you need before washing your face to avoid this issue. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 14, 2018
I was pleasantly surprised by how gentle the granular scrub felt when using it. As someone with sensitive skin, I was glad that it didn't cause any blemishes after use. It's great for massaging areas with blackheads or excess dead skin cells, as it seems to gradually remove them. If you have sensitive skin like mine, don't use it too frequently. Apply more water to the product and gently massage it in. Also, while massaging, if it feels too rough, add more water intermittently for a smoother application. - wo*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 25, 2018
As someone with combination dehydrated skin that's prone to acne and sensitivity, I've struggled with excess oil, enlarged pores, and dead skin cell buildup. I've battled with those pesky little bumps and often felt a lingering, uncomfortable sensation after cleansing, even on days when I diligently applied sunscreen. Frustrated by this persistent issue, I discovered it was due to ineffective exfoliation. I decided to give this product a shot, thinking I had nothing to lose. Honestly, I've tried several scrubs before, but they either didn't work or irritated my skin. This one, however, is perfect for my super sensitive combination skin. It's incredibly effective at removing dead skin cells and provides excellent cleansing, even on days when I've applied lots of sunscreen. The coffee bean-shaped tablets are conveniently sized, dissolve easily in water, and rinse off effortlessly. Plus, the individual packaging makes it ideal for travel. I was surprised to see my sink covered in coffee grounds when I crushed the bean, but it washes away quickly with water. I wish it came in a larger size option. I wouldn't recommend using this daily like a regular cleansing foam. While those with thicker, more resilient skin might be able to handle it, if you have delicate skin or are prone to blemishes, I'd suggest using it only once or twice a week, depending on your skin type. I noticed that there are more peeling bean products on the brand's website that haven't made it to the Hwahae app yet. I'm so satisfied with this product that I've ordered the larger size! - ne*****Combination SkinRecommendedApr 22, 2018
This is fantastic when your skin feels grimy because you haven't exfoliated in a while. It might feel a bit rough for those with sensitive or thin skin, or those who already take good care of their skin. I'd recommend this for people with thick, oily skin prone to dead skin cell buildup. It's actually better suited for men than women, though I'm a woman myself! My boyfriend loves it even more than I do. The coffee bean-shaped granules are cute, and I love the coffee scent. Surprisingly, it leaves your skin feeling hydrated after use. The texture is a bit coarse, so I wouldn't recommend it for those with super sensitive skin. However, even with the rough feeling, you'll notice your skin feels unexpectedly moisturized and clearer after washing. Make sure to rinse thoroughly, as sometimes granules can remain around the eyes or behind the ears. I'd suggest using this while showering rather than just washing your face. This is a scrub for once or twice a week use. I recommend a gentle scrub on a weekday, and then this invigorating peeling bean on the weekend. Following up with a sheet mask afterwards works wonders!
