I've been using René Furterer shampoos for years. Among them, Tonucia has been great for keeping my scalp clean while providing a refreshing sensation. I found out through the Hwahae app that it contains quite a few harmful ingredients, which is disappointing. - ha*******Combination SkinMay 26, 2021
I switched from using Green to Tonymoly, and this product seems to have a richer, more luxurious lather. I've especially noticed a slight reduction in hair loss. Sometimes the red particles remain, leaving a residue, so you need to rinse thoroughly multiple times. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 26, 2021
The cleansing effectiveness is great. I felt like it thoroughly cleaned all the way to my scalp. Perhaps because it cleanses so well, my hair feels very dry after washing, so I absolutely need to use a treatment afterward. - jo***************Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRednessJan 22, 2021
The cleansing effectiveness is fantastic! I have dry hair, but the top and front get oily... Usually, even after shampooing, it looks like I haven't washed it at all - the worst kind of hair situation. But with this product, my hair doesn't feel greasy after washing! First off, it's quite pricey... For this amount, I'd rather try several other shampoos. I thought with such a high price tag, the ingredients would be exceptional, but they're actually not that impressive. - bo*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJan 11, 2021
In 2020, I experienced severe hair loss (lasting a year) and seasonal dead skin cells (the worst ever...). Despite trying various shampoos, nothing seemed to help. However, after using this shampoo just twice, I noticed a significant reduction in hair loss and an immediate improvement in my scalp issues. I can hardly believe it myself! I highly recommend this to anyone struggling with hair loss and dandruff. First off, it doesn't lather very well. As a result, you need to use quite a bit each time you wash your hair. Given that it's a pricey product, I can't use it as liberally as I'd like. While the effects are excellent in my opinion, this is the biggest drawback. Also, I wish they would offer refill containers - I'd prefer not to dispose of plastic packaging. - bo******Dry SkinSensitive SkinSep 14, 2020
I really can't find anything positive to say about this shampoo. If I could, I'd give it zero stars. This shampoo contains methylisothiazolinone, an ingredient used in humidifier disinfectants. Please avoid using it at all costs. Currently, Hwahae doesn't list this ingredient, even though I've repeatedly asked them to update it with evidence. As of September 14, 2020, you can find this ingredient listed on the Tonucia shampoo (both 600ml and 200ml) on Shinsegae Mall's website. I've highlighted it in red in the image I uploaded today. While methylisothiazolinone can be used in small amounts in rinse-off products (except toothpaste), it's still concerning as shampoo can get into your eyes and mouth. As Koreans, we're particularly wary of this ingredient. There are many great shampoos without it, so there's no need to use this one. Forticia shampoo also contains methylisothiazolinone. Even Director Pi strongly advises against it. Besides the humidifier disinfectant ingredient, it contains 8 out of 20 cautionary ingredients like sodium laureth sulfate, talc, BHT, and PEG, plus 2 allergens. It's shocking! Since hair absorbs products even better than skin, absolutely avoid using shampoos with so many harmful ingredients. It's completely ineffective for hair loss and overpriced for an imported product. Don't use shampoos containing humidifier disinfectant ingredients. There are many good hair loss prevention shampoos with beneficial ingredients available these days. Since hair absorbs products better than skin, never use hair products with harmful ingredients. By the way, René Furterer's shampoos, conditioners, hair essences, and treatments all have very poor ingredients. - qo*********Oily SkinRecommendedSep 6, 2020
First off, it smells nice and I tried it because it's a well-known product, but I'm not sure yet if it's good for hair loss... The downside is that it makes my scalp smell a bit... - sh********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAug 27, 2020
I bought this for scalp care, and I'm pleased with how well it lathers. The scent is quite pleasant too. Plus, it doesn't leave my hair feeling stiff or brittle. The price is quite steep! Unfortunately, it makes my scalp a bit itchy after use. I guess it's not the right fit for me. Since it lathers so well, make sure to rinse thoroughly. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinRecommendedAug 24, 2020
I've been using this product for over 5 years. First of all, it cleanses my scalp thoroughly, and I love that it's silicone-free. Now that I'm pregnant, I'm considering switching from my long-time favorite René Furterer shampoo to a more eco-friendly option. - hc*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinJun 24, 2020
The fragrance was the only redeeming quality, I'm afraid. I can't think of any other positives. First off, it makes your scalp smell and causes oil to build up quickly. I noticed this even though I don't have an oily scalp. Plus, it's expensive and the ingredients are surprisingly poor quality.
