I was born with thin, weak hair that's been frequently dyed and bleached. It's a miracle my hair is still attached and not breaking off - it's truly the definition of damaged hair. Without conditioner, I can't even brush my hair after shampooing, and I've never had naturally good hair texture. I've tried every hair product out there, from budget to high-end. When I was living in Europe, I stumbled upon this product in a drugstore and bought it because it was cheap (about $7.50 locally). Since then, it's become my holy grail hair essence. A little goes a long way, and it doesn't make your hair greasy. As soon as you apply it, you get instant smoothness, shine, and perfect split end management. My hair is past my shoulders, and one bottle lasts about 6 months. I've lost count of how many bottles I've used. The scent isn't particularly fragrant or amazing, but it's inoffensive and neutral - kind of androgynous. While Moroccan oil is the king of hair essences, it can be hard to find and quite expensive. This product is an excellent alternative that does the job perfectly. When I returned to Korea last year, I used up all the essence I brought back. Now I'm desperately searching to repurchase it, but I can't find it anywhere on Korean online shopping sites. I came to Hwahae to leave this review while I'm here. I didn't know about the ingredients before, but looking at Hwahae, I see they're pretty much villain-level. However, I've used it without any blemishes. It's not sold at Olive Young in my neighborhood, and it's not even available for international shipping on Coupang. It's really difficult to find this product in Korea. Don't apply it when your hair is wet. After drying and before styling, apply a small amount, then add a tiny bit more after styling. You'll experience the magic of your hair looking like it belongs to someone with naturally good hair texture. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinJun 7, 2017
I've tried Mise-en-Scene, OGX, and L'Oreal, but this is the first time I've heard compliments about my hair looking good, despite my typically unruly locks! Even when I apply it generously, it doesn't feel greasy. Instead, it makes my hair look soft and healthy! Also, unlike L'Oreal which caused itching on my face and neck and gave me blemishes, this product didn't cause any such issues despite its ingredients. Oh, and I loved the scent! That's actually why I bought it. While sensitive individuals might react differently, to me it smelled like a high-quality salon product without being overpowering or headache-inducing. The quantity is a bit disappointing, and it's packed with ingredients...? Also, unfortunately, it doesn't seem to actually improve hair texture. Still, I keep using it because it makes my hair look so good! I bought it during an Olive Young sale for just over 9,000 won! Apply it generously to slightly damp hair, then again after blow-drying, and your hair becomes incredibly soft! It absolutely won't make your hair sticky or clumpy! - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinDec 20, 2016
It's great for hair texture. You don't need to buy expensive oils - this works just as well (even for super frizzy hair). I have blemish-prone skin, and when I use this and wear a hat, I break out in that area. I get acne around my jawline, neck, and hairline. Unfortunately, I can't use it anymore. While it seems okay for hair texture, I'd recommend it for dry hair but not so much for oily types. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAug 2, 2016
Pretty decent. The scent is nice, it has UV protection, and for an oil, it doesn't leave much of a greasy residue. Nothing particularly bad, but the amount you get is a bit small for the price... that's about it. - Hwahae UserOily SkinMar 3, 2016
It really softens your hair when applied. It seems to nourish the hair better than Mise-en-Scene. Since it's an expensive product, it's best to buy it when it's on sale at Olive Young. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMar 3, 2016
This is the hair product I bought when I first decided to start taking care of my hair. I was tempted to buy it when Toni & Guy was all over YouTube, with beauty influencers promoting it left and right. It makes your hair look oily but in a healthy way. It's extremely greasy and leaves your hair looking overly shiny. I couldn't go out in public after applying it, but I had no choice since it was the only product I had at the time, so I used it anyway. The scent is unpleasant and gives me a headache.
