This product excels at neutralizing yellow undertones Great value when purchased during sales It doesn't absorb into the skin at all, just sits on top leaving a white cast Seems overly oily, as even foam cleansers struggle to remove it completely Absolutely disappointing... If you must buy it, it might be okay for use on the neck only - ph*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinInner DrynessRednessRecommendedJul 6, 2025
As a foundation-free devotee for years, I rely solely on brightening moisturizers with SPF. My skin type: acne-free, prone to allergic rashes, shade 19, and dry. I've tried nearly every brightening sunscreen out there, and my holy grail has always been Torriden's Green Tone-Up Sunscreen. (It's perfect in every way - color, application, adherence, and staying power.) So when I heard about their new purple line, I couldn't resist buying it with my own money to give it a try. Brightening effect: 5/5 While the green was great for evening skin tone, the purple is definitely more potent! Since I don't need coverage, the brightening effect is my top priority, and this delivers - it lightens my complexion by at least one shade! But don't worry, it doesn't leave you looking unnaturally pale or ghostly. Hydration: 5/5 For a brightening moisturizer with SPF, it's incredibly hydrating. The formula itself is quite fluid and feels like it's infused with moisture. Ingredients: 5/5 As someone with severe allergies, I'm extremely picky about ingredients. Torriden's sunscreens always impress me with their excellent formulations. I experienced no blemishes or allergic reactions. Application & Adherence: 3/5 While it glides on smoothly at first thanks to its high moisture content, it tends to become a bit sticky and patchy as you blend it in. The adherence, in particular, was disappointing. I've tried almost every brightening sunscreen out there, and I've noticed this is a common issue with purple-tinted ones - they often apply unevenly and don't adhere well. Longevity: 4/5 It doesn't darken over time, but it does tend to separate a bit when you sweat. Rather than fading naturally, it breaks down in a slightly messy way. The brightening effect is so intense that it's difficult to apply the daily recommended amount - using less gives a more natural look. I probably won't repurchase this one and will go back to my trusty green-tinted Torriden sunscreen! It adheres better when applied with your hands rather than a puff. - ra*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 4, 2025
I tested about 5 different purple-toned brightening moisturizers with SPF available at Olive Young, and I ended up purchasing the Torriden one because it had the longest-lasting color correction that didn't change throughout the day. After trying various brands like Cell Fusion C, d'Alba, B.plane, and Skinfood, I decided to go with this one. Now that I'm using it, I can say it maintains an even complexion well and provides good hydration. So far, I haven't noticed any particular drawbacks. If I had to nitpick, maybe the packaging isn't the prettiest? Controlling the amount is crucial. The color correction is quite bright, so if you apply too much, you might end up looking like a ghost. I'm using a puff to apply it. - is*****Oily SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedJun 11, 2025
I've noticed a lot of recent reviews are from The Hwahae Testers. This is my honest, paid-with-my-own-money review! After checking out YouTube videos, blog posts, and beauty shop reviews, I recently bought a few brightening moisturizers with SPF. One of my favorites among them is <TORIDEN Dive In Tone-Up Sun Cream>. TORIDEN's brightening moisturizer comes in two shades, purple and green. Since I have cool-toned skin with a slight yellow undertone, I went for the purple one. At first, I was worried the purple shade might be too intense, but once applied, it naturally evens out my skin tone. If you have fair skin, expect about a half-shade brightening effect, while those with darker complexions might see up to a full shade of improvement. With its SPF 50+ PA+++ rating, this TORIDEN cream offers color correction, brightening, and sun protection all in one, which is super convenient. When I first squeezed out the brightening moisturizer, I was a bit surprised by the unexpectedly deep purple color, though it does blend out naturally on the skin. However, when blending it in, it can look a bit patchy. The cream has a slightly thick texture, making it challenging to spread evenly whether using your hands or a puff. If you apply foundation over this brightening moisturizer, your makeup might look a bit heavy, so you'll need to master the skill of applying both products in thin layers. I've been using the TORIDEN brightening moisturizer to match my neck tone with my face. It's not sticky and has a nice, fresh finish. If you find TORIDEN a bit lacking as a facial brightening moisturizer, I'd also recommend the UNIQUE brightening moisturizer. UNIQUE's shade is slightly lighter than TORIDEN's, so while the brightening effect might be less noticeable, it applies more smoothly. - aj*****Dry SkinRecommendedMay 23, 2025
The brightening moisturizer is great for covering skin blemishes. It's so convenient that I don't need to apply BB cream separately. There's nothing particularly negative to mention. I'll likely continue using it. It's really good! This product seems to work well as a multitasking skincare item, offering both coverage and convenience. It appears to be effective enough to replace other base makeup products for some users. - mm******Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesInner DrynessRecommendedMay 4, 2025
Unlike other brightening moisturizers with SPF that are usually peach-toned, Torriden's purple hue is perfect for yellow undertones! When applied before makeup, it evens out your complexion, making your skin look radiant and flawless. The downside is that it leaves a matte finish, so I'd recommend it more for those with oily skin rather than dry skin types. For the best application, try layering it with your skincare routine for smoother absorption. - js*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessApr 30, 2025
First off, I was really pleased with how well it evened out my skin tone. I have oily skin, and the texture initially felt moisturizing, but the finish was a bit sticky yet matte. Right after application, it tends to settle into eyebrows and around the nose. Over time, it clumps up, causing my sunscreen and cushion foundation to pill when applied on top. It's not a product I reach for often. I wouldn't recommend it for those sensitive to fragrances as it has a strong artificial scent. However, if your main concern is brightening your complexion, it might still be worth considering. Not recommended for those with fragrance sensitivities. - jk****Combination SkinSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedApr 9, 2025
• Honest review from my own purchase • Great ingredients and generous amount • Makes skin look clear • Bought it because purple is trendy • Purchased during a sale • Some say it lifts over time, but mix it with a bit of H serum stick power proof and it won't lift at all At the shop, mixing it with a bit of H serum stick power proof keeps it from lifting, stays hydrated longer, and looks beautiful - ch*******Normal SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 29, 2025Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

The texture was also wonderfully hydrating, which I really appreciated. There wasn't anything particularly disappointing. If I had to nitpick, I'd say you need to be careful with the amount you use. Oh, and just a heads up - if you apply too much, it can make your skin look overly white. It's best to apply it gradually, checking as you go. - jj*****Combination SkinRecommendedMar 28, 2025Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

The product adheres excellently to the skin, though it may vary depending on the puff you use. Even when I check after work in the evening, it still has a light and matte finish - it's a perfect holy grail item! I have combination skin, but it doesn't make my pores feel clogged at all, so I'll definitely repurchase it! Due to the white cast, controlling the amount is essential. The white cast is quite noticeable, so even though it's a product with UV protection, it's difficult to rely on it alone for sun protection. In summer, you might need to apply a separate sunscreen and layer this on top. It has a matte finish, so I spray mist whenever my skin feels dry. Also, since controlling the amount is crucial, I squeeze out a little bit on my forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin, then pat it in with a dense puff for better adherence.
