The YSL Volupté Tint-in-Balm is a unique lip product with a heart-shaped balm in the center surrounded by a lightly tinted outer ring. It gives a delicate, subtle look and can be layered over other lip colors to create a more natural finish. It's such a shame this perfect product has been discontinued. There's absolutely nothing to fault about it, which makes it even more disappointing. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinSep 17, 2020
Being Yves Saint Laurent, the design is gorgeous. It functions as a lip balm while providing a nice tint, making it perfect for a light application. Since it applies so smoothly and moisturizes well, you should expect almost no staying power, unfortunately. - dh*****Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 16, 2019
This lip balm is moisturizing and gives just the right amount of healthy color! Personally, I love orange-coral shades, and this one hits the spot. It looks beautifully natural even on bare lips. There's no emphasis on dead skin cells, and while it does get a bit dry over time, I'm quite satisfied with its performance overall! There's nothing really negative to say except for the price, haha. It's slightly disappointing that the initial hydration diminishes a bit as time passes. - da*******Combination SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedAug 12, 2019
As someone with atopic dermatitis, it's been challenging to find suitable lip products. This one, however, works wonderfully for me and has become my go-to. I love how the color applies naturally and looks effortless on the lips. While it glides on smoothly, it seems to wear off rather quickly. Unfortunately, it appears to have been discontinued recently. The newer version doesn't apply as nicely and tends to look messy. I'm desperately searching for a similar product that matches the quality of this one! - mi*********Dry SkinSensitive SkinJun 17, 2019
The color applies beautifully while keeping lips incredibly moisturized, making it perfect for worry-free application even when you have dead skin cells. I'm not sure if it offers better value compared to drugstore products, and it feels slightly slippery on the lips. Using this as a base and applying a more pigmented lip product to the inner part of your lips creates a natural gradient effect! - tt*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 30, 2019
This was my first YSL lip product... It's truly amazing. The color is beyond words... Such a beautiful, moisturizing lip tint. Even when applied carelessly, it looks gorgeous, so for a while, this was the only lip product I carried around. I used it down to the very last drop, making sure not to waste any. There are absolutely no downsides! The price might be a bit steep, but it's YSL after all... And it's definitely worth every penny! - kk*****Normal SkinRecommendedApr 13, 2019
It's great that you only need this one product for both moisturizing and color! It's wonderfully hydrating and the color applies beautifully. Some reviews mention the color being light, but I found it to be just right. Think of it as a tinted lip balm - it gives about as much color as the Nivea Cherry we used back in school days. And above all, the design is so pretty, it makes me want to cry! The price is a bit disappointing. Also, when I went to the duty-free shop, they said it was discontinued and out of stock. Please keep producing it! Instead of applying it just once or dabbing it on, try layering it two or three times using your lip warmth to adjust the color as desired. But be careful not to apply it too heavily - pressing it on five times can make the scent overpowering! It might be a bit much right before a meal. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 2, 2019
First off, the design is on point! It's so compact, you can easily slip it into your purse when you're heading out. To be honest, the design is everything! The sweet scent when you apply this lip balm is absolutely delightful - it's like you've just eaten candy. And the application? It glides on smoothly like candy and leaves your lips feeling plump and bouncy! To be frank, for a lip balm, it lacks moisture. It only feels hydrating when you first apply it, but quickly dries out. Also, since it's a tint, you don't get the same color every time. The more you apply, the more it tends to take on a slightly fluorescent hue. We all have that super moisturizing lip balm at home, right? It's a great idea to use that at home and then cleverly switch to this one when you're out and about. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMar 12, 2019
As someone who prefers this type of formula due to my dry, flaky lips... the Volupté Tint-in-Balm is one of my holy grail lip products. On days when my lips are well-maintained, I can wear regular lipstick formulas. But being lazy, on days when I've neglected my lip care, I mainly reach for this product. For those with very dry, chapped lips... if you're torn between YSL and Dior, definitely choose YSL. Why? Because this product is so much more hydrating than Dior's offering. I find Dior's version not very moisturizing and it dries out quickly. So I rarely reach for it. I think Dior's product is more suited for those with normal lips who want a natural shine, rather than for us 'flaky lip club' members. I own three shades in the Volupté Tint-in-Balm line. #8 is an orange shade that gives your lips a lively look. #7 is a light orange, but I don't use it much. I frequently use #8 and #10. If you're a fan of orange lip colors, just go for it! While the color payoff isn't as strong as the Volupté Shine line, you can achieve a subtle, natural orange lip that looks fresh and alive. Thanks to the tint component, the staying power is surprisingly good. There are no cons. I knew I was buying YSL, so I won't comment on the price point. - Hwahae UserDry SkinJan 2, 2019
I have cool-toned, fair skin and typically use shade 13. I've tried various reds and coral pinks before, but never ventured into orange territory. When I tested this at the department store, it looked absolutely stunning under the lighting, which led me to make the purchase. Alas, store lighting can be deceiving... The sales associate's assurance that everything suits my fair skin was just a sales tactic. While it has a fluorescent glow, I don't feel like orange is a perfect match for my cool, fair complexion. I've only worn it a few times this summer and haven't been able to use it since. It might work better if I mix it with a pink shade.
