I tried this as a sample. In summer, I prefer gel cleansers. While this one doesn't give that squeaky-clean feeling, it leaves your skin feeling hydrated after use. At first, I was puzzled because it didn't lather much even with a generous amount. But then I discovered that if you wet your hands thoroughly and really work it in, you can create a good lather with just a small amount. When rinsing it off, there's a persistent slippery feeling, so you need to rinse quite thoroughly. The scent isn't particularly pleasant either, and I noticed some ingredients that might be concerning. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMay 24, 2020
I stumbled upon this at Olive Young in a bundle deal and bought it for my second cleanse. It's incredibly lightweight - perfect for morning use! The cleansing effectiveness seems almost non-existent, and the price is just wicked. If it hadn't been part of a bundle, I wouldn't have even considered buying it... - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedFeb 22, 2019
It's absolutely amazing! My skin was so dry it felt like my entire body was covered in rough patches. Now it's smooth and not dry at all. There's nothing really bad. If I had to pick something, maybe the scent? It smells like old-fashioned anti-lice shampoo. - Hwahae UserDry SkinMar 29, 2018
I love how it cleanses so well without any irritation. This is the only cleanser I use now. It's a bit pricey and the amount is quite small. Still, I find myself only using this. If you wear heavy makeup, it might not be enough on its own though. It's great that I can cleanse my face effectively with just this product, after removing eye makeup separately. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinApr 30, 2017
I bought this for my dad who has psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. Avène products are known for their good ingredients, and when I tried it as a second cleanser, I found it to be incredibly gentle on the skin. The gel texture is quite slippery, so it took a bit longer than usual to rinse off completely. - 1l****Dry SkinSensitive SkinOct 11, 2016
A major plus is that it doesn't leave your skin feeling tight after washing. I was on the hunt for a low pH cleanser and picked this up at Olive Young. I've been using it with my Clarisonic brush, and I'd say its cleansing effectiveness isn't bad at all. While it might not be enough on its own for heavy makeup, it seems to remove sunscreen pretty thoroughly. You can use it on your body too - I have extremely dry skin and mild atopic dermatitis on my body, but this doesn't dry me out. It's a real bang for your buck in terms of quantity! I bought this because it's supposedly gentle enough for newborns, but the ingredients are just so-so... If your face is irritated or if you over-exfoliate, it can sting on sensitive areas. Being low pH, it doesn't give you that squeaky clean feeling. It seems to work well with the Clarisonic - 15****Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsOct 2, 2016
My skin didn't feel dry after cleansing! The color was slightly yellowish, but I liked that it didn't seem to have added pigments. The very artificial oily scent was hard to get used to every time I used it, and the lack of foam made me doubt its cleansing effectiveness. Checking on Hwahae, I found out the ingredients aren't that great either... Among Avène's cleansing products, the blue cleansing gel seems much better than this one! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinJul 27, 2016
First off, I loved that it comes in a generous size with a pump dispenser. I bought it on recommendation from Olive Young, and despite having atopic and very dry skin, it didn't cause any adverse reactions. The scent is a bit off-putting, almost medicinal? Not particularly pleasant. Also, when cleansing after wearing makeup, it seems to leave some residue. Occasionally, my skin feels a bit dry after washing too. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinApr 30, 2016
I switched to this after finishing Uriage Xémose Syndet, and the hydration level is even better! I've never felt dry while using it. The bottle is quite large and the pump dispenser makes it convenient to use. It's so moisturizing that... it doesn't rinse off well. Especially for those who use cleansing oils, please think twice before purchasing. It barely washes off oil residue, leading to improper cleansing and a few blemishes popping up. So I tried reducing the amount and cleansing twice, which prevented breakouts and left no residue when toning. It might be good for those who don't wear much makeup or have extremely dry skin. I've tried two of Avène's cleansing products: Gel Moussant and Trixera Gel. An Avène representative told me that Gel Moussant is for sensitive skin soothing, while Trixera is for extreme hydration. Both are gentle enough for sensitive skin, but if your skin is itchy and irritated, go for Gel Moussant. If you're dealing with extreme dryness, choose Trixera. Gel Moussant has better cleansing effectiveness, though it's not squeaky clean. Compared to Trixera, it's less moisturizing. - ur****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsFeb 12, 2016
The scent is quite mild and it wasn't irritating at all. I like that you can twist to pump and lock it when using. The packaging is simple and nice too! I was shocked when I looked at the ingredients. This was recommended for pregnant women, but I'm not sure if that's right... I want to return it immediately, but since there's no issue yet, I'll keep using it for a while. It doesn't lather up very well, so you end up using quite a bit of product.
