The bottle's unique opening design, which isn't a pump, allows for easy control of the amount dispensed - just a few drops at a time, which is great. The glass packaging is more environmentally friendly and prettier than plastic. Being organic jojoba oil, it's versatile and can be used for multiple purposes without causing blemishes. Plus, it doesn't have a strong scent. It would have been better if the container was darker to protect the oil from sunlight exposure. It's great for scalp and hair care. You can also warm a few drops in your hands and pat it on your face after applying cream for a sealing effect. It's excellent for creating an all-purpose base by mixing it with creams or toners. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedAug 27, 2021
This is hands down the most satisfying oil I've ever used! 1. It's fantastic for hydration. I have extremely dry skin, and when I mix it with my cream in winter, it absorbs beautifully and instantly feels like it's doing wonders for my skin! 2. Texture: It's not a formula that absorbs immediately, nor does it just sit on top of the skin. Even in winter or dry weather, I could apply this product lightly and still layer on foundation or makeup without any issues. 3. I didn't notice it while using, but my partner sniffed my forehead and said it smelled a bit like pencils? Or something nutty? But since I couldn't even detect it while applying, it's not really something to worry about! Since it's a pump bottle, it's not as easy to control the amount as with a dropper. Also, I bought it overseas where it wasn't so expensive, but the price in Korea is quite steep. Try mixing it with any product in winter! It surprisingly combines well with other skincare items! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 16, 2021
My beloved jojoba oil. As winter approached, my skin was dry, cracked, and flaky no matter what I applied. It was itchy and red even with frequent cream applications. Desperate from the itching, I scoured the internet and discovered... oil. Thinking 'Why not give it a try?', I waited 5 days for delivery. When it arrived, I mixed it with toner and applied it without even washing my face. A few hours later, I was in awe. The itching disappeared within minutes, the dryness vanished soon after, and in two days, my blemishes subsided leaving only faint marks. It's a game-changer! There are no downsides. Absolutely none. Maybe the fact that international shipping is cheaper but takes longer? And since my first product was from Melvita, I'm a bit hesitant to try other jojoba oils... I mix it with toner, blend it with cream, and use it alone. When applied right after washing, it absorbs completely without leaving residue on the skin. I spritz it on frequently. It might feel a bit rich, but I love how it keeps my skin hydrated without dryness. It's absolutely wonderful! - 2h**Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 12, 2020
I absolutely love it! I mix it with my moisturizer and even blend it into my foundation. As it's a 100% natural product, there's no added fragrance - you only smell the raw ingredients. For jojoba oils, I recommend Melvita. For better value, try Desert Essence oils. - ia******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinApr 22, 2020
I bought this Melvita oil believing it had good ingredients. After trying it, I found the feel was quite ordinary. After applying it to my face a few times, it felt greasy and caused blemishes, so I can't use it on my face anymore. I'm only using it on my body now, and it absorbs well when applied with a body emulsion. Perhaps that's why it seems to last forever! The cap is really inconvenient. I wish they would change it to a different container. When using it on your body, it's better to mix it with an emulsion or cream rather than using it alone! - jj*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedDec 17, 2019
As winter set in, my face became dry and flushed, so I visited a dermatologist. They told me my skin barrier was compromised and advised focusing on hydration. I heard jojoba oil is good for oily skin, and since I have combination dehydrated skin, I decided to give it a try. This oil is fantastic! I apply it morning and night, and my skin doesn't turn red, itch, or feel inflamed. It's incredibly moisturizing and feels great. Especially since Melvita is organic, I'm looking forward to using it all winter long. The bottle opening is unusual. I bought it without thinking, assuming it had a pump, but it's just a hole. You have to tilt it to get drops out one by one. It tends to get messy around the opening, which doesn't seem very hygienic. I wipe the opening each time I use it, but it's inconvenient. After applying my serum in the morning and evening, I add a drop of this oil to my moisturizer and gently press it into my skin. This keeps my complexion hydrated all day long. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 10, 2019
For years, I lived in a dry foreign country where skincare products were subpar and expensive, so I neglected my beauty routine. I only used one skin emulsion that didn't cause blemishes, but my skin always felt tight. I'd given up hope. When in Korea, I tried many famous 'gentle' products, but they irritated my super sensitive skin, even leading to dermatologist visits. My skin is dark with little redness. I always get blemishes on one side of my forehead and around my philtrum. After makeup, my T-zone gets oily by afternoon, while the rest of my body tends to be dry. This was consistent throughout my 20s, regardless of where I lived. I knew oils and whitening ingredients didn't suit me - oils made my skin itchy, and sheet masks always caused pimples. After moving to Japan, I noticed new types of blemishes and decided to focus on skin barrier health. I switched to Etude's pH 6.5 foam cleanser, changed to low pH shampoo and body wash, and bought this jojoba oil from Amazon. It's amazing! Changing my cleansers made my skin feel more comfortable. Just toner and jojoba oil are enough for summer hydration. Surprisingly, my nose doesn't get oily anymore, with or without makeup. Is this what they mean by oil and moisture balance? I don't need oil-control products anymore. I plan to mix it with emulsions or creams in winter. My skin feels comfortable for the first time ever... I hope it stays this way forever! It costs about 2000 yen on Japanese Amazon. The Hwahae app lists it at around 40,000 won, which seems expensive. Still, it'll last a long time since I only use a few drops daily. We'll see how it performs in winter. The bottle opening leaks a bit when tilted - I wipe it off and apply it to my lips. Being an oil, the cap gets slippery, which can be annoying. I tried a scalp massage before shampooing, but it's not easy to massage with just oil. I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. The problem is, after using a low pH shampoo once, my hair got sticky... I'll need to shampoo twice. The one I bought from Japanese Amazon isn't a pump or dropper type, but has a slightly raised opening that dispenses small amounts when tilted. Day 1: I mixed a tiny drop of jojoba oil with my regular moisturizing toner, rubbed it between my hands, then patted it in. It felt hydrating without tightness, so I finished my routine there. Next day: With no adverse reactions, I started doing this process twice. Around day 3-4, a pimple appeared on my cheek but disappeared after another 3-4 days. No issues since then. I've been using it well for over 3 weeks. If your T-zone gets particularly oily, I'd suggest applying an extra layer just in that area. I've never tried applying the oil alone, so I'm not sure about that. It might be worth trying for very dry skin types. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinJun 3, 2019
- Bought it to mix with the Scinic essence - Already on my third bottle after sharing some with friends and making my own mist. After using it for about 6 months and still having this much left, I think it'll easily last a year for someone with oily skin like me. - Considering long-term use, it's not really that expensive - I've been using it mixed with Scinic and jojoba oil as a mist for my skincare routine, but... I'm wondering if it's really necessary. Jojoba oil is supposed to control whiteheads and improve blackheads, but I'm not seeing any effects. At least it's not making things worse? I never had blackheads to begin with, but I don't even feel like my whiteheads are reducing. - Probably won't repurchase. It's just average for my skin... It might work well for those with dry skin, but people with oily skin probably don't need to bother buying it - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 17, 2019
The hydration is excellent, and I love that the scent isn't overpowering. I've tried applying the oil both before my cream and mixed into it - both methods worked great, and my face doesn't feel greasy at all. Even if you feel your skin is rich in oil but still tight, I think this could work well for you. Everything's great except for the packaging, which is inconvenient. I didn't notice at first, but as the product level decreases, you have to tilt the bottle towards the dropper to use it. However, when you pump while tilting, it tends to splash excessively. - dk******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 22, 2019
I heard jojoba oil was good, so I decided to try it for the first time. I was worried about blemishes since it's a natural oil, but fortunately, it worked well for me. I mix it with cream, blend it into body emulsion, and use it for shoulder massages. It absorbs well without feeling heavy, even when layered over cream. It's a lightweight oil, so I think even those with oily skin could benefit from using small amounts. I've heard jojoba oil is great for removing blackheads, but I haven't been diligent enough to use it regularly, so my blackheads are still hanging around. However, when I occasionally massage it into my pores while showering and then cleanse, my skin feels smoother. As you can see in the photo, it can get messy with use. For hygiene reasons, a pump dispenser might be better.
